The Empire of Corrington: Sign-up and Discussion
Bregir replied to SkaForHire's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
There is. 50 % for vessels 4-6, 100 % for 7-9, and 200 % for 10-12. I am certain Tomsche is paying these, though.- 897 replies

aGreat plantaion and nice story. I really like the irrigation works, which fits perfectly into the description of Serentia. The use of the treasure chest lids is very innovative, and I like your sugar canes. The ox and the harrow is a great touch too. Well done!

[COR - FB] Trading with the Whole Village
Bregir replied to SilentWolf's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
Great build, Silentwolf! I just commented on one of your other builds that it was my favourite, but I shall have to take that back! This is really great, and I like how you have overcome some of the right angles of LDD with some more dynamic minifig placement. This is a great build, and I like all the different activity going on, and the mere fact that we get to know more about the natives. I think this could easily be licensed as a large residence, or perhaps even extra large to get Elizabethville started? Anyways, good build!- 12 replies

Excellent idea and great execution. One wonders where he got the idea to the story from, eh? Best detail is the upside down hat with the coins!- 15 replies

I believe this is my favourite build of yours so far. I too like the walls of the house, and all the life you have achieved on the docks. The story is very nice too, and I am looking forward to following it further. That you have followed the description of the island and used it as a story hook for the tenders and anchorage part - very realistic. Great work, and I hope to see Elizabethville grow over time. Hopefully, I will also be able to add my own efforts to the town.

Ok, new accounting sheet that you can all use if you want to. It should always be in balance on the first page, otherwise, I did something wrong, and I would like to know. https://onedrive.live.com/redir?resid=62FBFEDADE9230D1!302007&authkey=!AK-Ohx4tZ5myayI&ithint=file%2cxlsx

Kai, Consider this our official request for a longer deadline. We can wait until next month to have it returned. (No room in our dock yards anyways... ) -
How does one go about licensing a prospecting build? If it should be licensed at all...

Well, Kai - let us follow the spirit of the law, rather than the letter, if that is the case. I cannot remember Ska saying anything like that, though.

Book II - Avalonia: Guild sign-up and Discussion
Bregir replied to Rogue Angel's topic in Guilds of Historica
Ahoy - I see I need to be a little noisy now. Are you still around? Yup, check in bi-weekly or so. What are you working on? Well, mainly BoBS stuff, but currently I am actually mostly away from my bricks, so it is mainly small vignettes and similar. However, I still have a very large build for the Trifork (the plaza) which I have taken pictures up, but need to finish the story for. The pictures aren't too good, but the best I could manage before I left my bricks. It is my biggest build ever, and includes several buildings on the main plaza of the Trifork. What is the best place to follow my work? That would be my flickr stream, which is basically only lego. Which challenges and tasks Hmm, let me see what I can remember. Challenges: Book II, challenges 2-4 with reasonable success Frozen beyond with one entry Tasks I believe I have done tasks 1-3, and have done quite some progress on task 4. Task four should progress further with my plaza build, and it should also kick off my task 6. I believe that was all for now. -
Dukesc: We have had all those discussions already, and reached basically the same points you reach. However, the specific discussion here was when it is ok to do it. And the general rule is that you can sistership your moc when you have lost it, and not before.

I disagree with your second statement. It has always been clear that sistershipping was only for those who lost their ships. If this is not in the rules, that is an error. You could never just multiply your ships. (Unless you have had some #¤#"%¤" up discussions in leadership, that is... )

A question to the monster that is sistershipping. Let us imagine that my vessel is captured, and I sistership her. And that I then bid on the auction and win the sistership. Would that be considered unfair? It seems to me that who wins the captured ship should be irrelevant for whether the sistershipping is allowed. In any case, payment would fall for both vessels.

Brilliant expansion to an already lovely build. It was really nice in its original form, but this is a good example how scale can add alot to a build :) -

This was not a good day to be Lieutenant McLeod. He had just lost his command, the Otter, and now had to find its owner, don Isaac Montoya, to bring him the bad news. Luckily, he had found passage to Cocovia on the vessel that resqued him and his crew from drowning, and had just now reached King's Harbour. While some might stipulate that loosing one's vessel to a much superior and completely scrupulous enemy was not something to be blamed for, and indeed, McLeod had been trying to convince himself of this for the whole trip, as had the captain of the vessel that picked him up, but he remained stressed. Surely, he would not be facing a court martial, as the Otter was a privately owned vessel, but still - it felt like a blemish on his carreer, and he knew not the consequences. Finding that Montoya was under way to Quinsville had given him some temporary respite, but no resolution to his anxiety. And really, Montoya was not who he worried for. Much more imposing was his friend, McLeod's former captain to whom he was indebted for gaining him his first command, Captain Jno. Cooke. Surely, he would not look lightly upon the loss of the cutter and its cargo? Walking through King's Harbour, everything seemed to remind McLeod of the impending dread of bringing over his news. Ibn al'Sayeed had taken it gently, consoled McLeod and offered him and his crew lodgings at a makeshift inn in King's Harbour, but as McLeod was now strolling along in his own thoughts, he noticed the newly build printers shop, where the Proceedings were being printed. The Proceedings being the official journal of the Royal Society of Natural Philosophy, and its new world editions being printed here, in King's Harbour on Cocovia, could not but be another reminder of his grim faith. He wondered if he would ever be able to take ship again... On the backside of the printers shop, fresh paper was being delivered, and inside the editor was busy setting the types for the newest edition of the Proceedings. It included a working paper by Baker & Montoya on the Cocovian Coral reefs brought in a few days ago by the Ferret packet, as well as the most recent notes on Alberto de Pontelli's recent experiments in flight, and was sure to cause great uproar and interest in the Royal Society. At the same time, his assistant was busy printing the already finished articles, most noteworthily one on turtles by Major Dirk Allcock, and some paleontological notes by Sir James Chase. Here you see a detail shot of my printing press and the table where the editor is setting the types for printing. Thanks for looking - C&C is as always welcome. The building and street is rather basic, but I am somewhat limited in my bricks, and try to make the most of it. I really like how the printing press came out, although we have already seen a few magnificent examples.

I can. From the Corrington thread, page 1, faction ressources: "If a faction wants more warships, they have to pay for the license. These ships can be lost, and will have to be replaced with more DBs. A nation can have up to 5 un-MOCed vessels, after that, someone in the faction will have to create a MOC to represent the sixth and so on vessel. Just like with private vessels, if that vessel is destroyed, pictures of the same MOC can be used to represent the next license purchased at the same level. This is a team game / story / project, so it makes sense that the team will have to build up its defenses together. "

Thanks all - I am a bit dissapointed that none of you noticed my own favourite detail, though! The bubbles coming out of the top of the helmet. Thanks, Faladrin! I was searching for alternative corals, but I sort of decided that in one spot, the corals were likely to be somewhat similar. (Plus, I don't have any friends sets... ) I quite like these underwater builds. Thanks, Titus - And well, it is my second one, so I am basically a veteran! The miracles of the sea, as well as the skies will soon be explored by the Royal Society! "We go, where no man went before - to the final frontiers!" (Forgive me the slight paraphrasing.. ) Thanks BDGR! Me too. Thanks, Elostirion - I was kinda trying to show the dolphin in the middle of a jump, and those white speckles are supposed to be where it came out of the water, but I can see that it is hard to distinguish. And your idea might be even better, having it half submerged or so. Glad you like it, Jacob - I think this technique is pretty good, as you can get some of the colourplay of the seas built in. And thanks - not all rocks are smooth and curvy Maybe we should set up an artisan in Arlinsport building these suits? Glad you like the reefs, and Montoya would definitely suggest Dirk to explore the seas too! Such riches of discovery!
