Nice figs and nice cutaway scene with a lot of details
-
Nice house and cart! I also love the action effect the upturned mantle creates The lighting of the MOC could however be improved, as some parts are a tad too dark and the picture looks like your camera had to resort to a high ISO number causing some unnessecary graininess.

But didn't that show you getting rid of your beard? -
Book II - Kaliphlin: Guild sign-up and Discussion

Phew, finally home from a long weekend with our annual LUG (Swebrick) exhibition, where I finalized my castle while setting it up on Friday Swedish television showed up, and you can glimpse my castle (and me behind it at around 0:24 ) in the clip here. Kaliphlin was represented as well as I brought my two latest builds Repairing the Walls of Petraea and Collecting the Pieces - The Venom of a Red Scorpion. Just to mention that I did not let Kaliplin down, the walls of Petraea won second place (and earned me a small Star Wars bley parts-pack set) when the TLG representatives selected their favourite builds. Sad to say that's the last time anyone will se that MOC, since I will be tearing it down very soon to start preparing (dismantling and sorting a lot of stuff) for GoH book II. Another fun thing was that I spotted de Gothia today, even though he was visiting incognito Etzel was also there (you might remember his Mitgardian embassy in Petraea?) and I tried to persuade him to return to building for GoH, keep your fingers crossed! -
So much happening on that relatively compact footprint! Nice story and perspective as well

I hope to be back in Kaliphlin build mode by October 25. @NM: Shouldn't there be some kind of military subjects as well, like fortification, siege engineering, tactics etc? -
I just bought a cheap white roller curtain from Ikea and made a pair of removeable legs, it worked very well the only time I've tried it so far, except that white background generally tends to add glare on the pieces. I will pick up a grey or black one as well next time I pass the blue and yellow store

Great water technique! The small slope waterfall works very well also
-
Great idea! Have "normal" Ents figured anything in GoH before?
-
Lovely garden that feels very believable! A note on the photography: When building a one-sided house like this, I think it would be a good thing to put another layer of bricks/plates behind so that less light would seep through cracks between pieces (especially when taking pictures head on).

Wonderful minifigs and excellent photography! Interesting to get a glimpse of what is hiding below the sea around Historica, I guess there could be a lot of untold stories there as well!

For me it is the opposite way around, when I have time to build I am generally much less active in the online community (GoH or Swebrick). It is when I'm away from my bricks I often end up spending time online looking at or talking about MOCs (or making BL or Amazon orders ) When I was studying I never had enough space in my room to accommodate more than a couple of official sets in my bookshelf. So much better for Kaliphlin that you have better access to your bricks now! -

What about interior techniques, should that be part of the Architecture subject as well? -
This late fall/early spring style that you Mitgardians are building fits just perfect! It makes me thinking of how I could incorporate some Mitgardian settings in my builds

When I think about it, did you mean 11 studs short vertically? Considering that the proportions of a lego brick is 6:5, 89 bricks vertically actally equals 106.8 studs

Nice vig, especially the ground! I think this AoM project has great potential to spawn many nice builds

I actually think the lighting itself works fine, it looks like a gloomy winter day far north
-
Nice minimalistic landscaping, I think you've really achieved a realistic snowy landscape feeling The camera angle and depth of field of the first shot is excellent, however I think it would have been improved by removing the shadows on the backdrop.
-
Interesting story and a nice temple scene, I especially like the tiled floor and the walls with statues.
-
I like that last pic much better, good job listening and improving! That snow bridge looks dangerous, but I guess it has a core of strong Mitgardian midwinter ice?
-
Indeed it is, welcome! Looking forward to what you will build here

Nice figs and landscaping, I like the altar design a lot! A philosophical question: how much human do a creature have to have left in it to still be considered a cannibal when eating humans?

Interesting to build a cave without walls or ceiling, but it really works out well! I guess that the stalagmites help there The minifigs also look great!

Excellent build, that target design was clever! A small comment: it lowers the impression a bit for me when the edges of the table and the floor is visible. Maybe a quick edit to white in those areas would be worth the work also for a small build like this?
