  1. Decided to start going through my moving boxes which have been in the garage since i moved to this new house 3 years ago. Barracuda by Natesroom, on Flickr
  2. Can i personalize the header on eurobricks? i thought i could from a long time ago but i'm not sure. Its so hard to see my account name, messages etc. Example: Also i only have a 100kb limit in my "Attachment" is there another way you put photos
  3. so is series 21 available in stores? I haven't been able to find it.
  4. I agree if you are doing a review that is not biased, but an objective review, such as "The 2 minifigs included are very nicely detailed with an updated BF logo, etc. One thing to note is that one is male and one is female." Is a perfectly acceptable review. (i'm not saying you did this next part) If the reveiwer says "The minifigs included are horribly done, yes the printing is nice but they made one knight a female, and thats just not historically accurate, it just lego giving in to the liberal....." or "Kudos to lego trying to be diverse by including a femal knight in this set to make sure all the....etc" Then i would say the its not an unbiased review for a toy, and as an AFOL (fan of a child toys) we should be better then this. Its imagination and if i want to imagine that its Joan of Arc or his wife traveling with him thats for the buyer to decide. My point was that some of these "criticisms" arent really constructive, since its a toy and wasn't created to mimic or be a stand in for actual historical events, and LEGO can create a "Dog" who looks like a husky. I'm sure they had blacksmiths in cold climates where these dogs might be.
  5. So i can't seem to understand the issue with AFOL's and their critiques. It doesnt have a goat, its not exactly historically accurate, maybe its a husky, has a possibly female knight... I thought the whole point of being an ADULT FAN OF LEGO was to be a fan of a child's toy that may sometimes create more challenging builds. An AFOL (at least in my book because i am one) collects and plays with legos because it reminds him of simpler times and captures the nostaglia of what it was like to be an 8 year old opening black falcons fortress or some other set. Just because they make the builds more challenging and more engaging doesnt mean they can't take liberties for what is all intents and purposes a child's set, with building techniques and challenges for 18+ or older. It isnt like the movies where a 12 or 14 year old can't buy it cause its 18+. I do understand the questions and i value some of the valid points people bring up, but I'm going to feel like its 1987 and Christmas when i get this, regardless of the "disappointments". Case in point the 2000 Blacksmith shop #3739 was so cool and awesome when it came out. If i was going to give it the 40 year old scholars critique of it, man it wouldn't hold up well with that level of eagle eye i mean a gold trumpet...(though to be fair they did a good job...almost like this set!)
  6. ahhhh.... true that. As far as i know A "lego" Purist wouldn't even buy those sets anyways, but i know the IP angst.
  7. True, i agree, i just thought it seemed like an undervalued area of business that is ripe for a group of talented people to step in. The amount of people that can build vs the amount of people that can't is very similar to the ratio of people who can build houses to those who can't.
  8. The links dont work on this anymore.
  9. Actually this does help in the sense that you are doing what I was talking about. What are you gonna do with the remaining parts of the set?
  10. Yeah with all the skills across all these forums i don't know why making instructions for MOC's isn't a more normal thing. Obviously people want to keep their creations unique... but interestingly if 10 people purchased a 10 dollar instruction they'd be able to buy more legos... lol.
  11. The answer is its legos yes you can. However, I just got both of these for Christmas and i was thinking about combining these two sets, but most of the posts i have seen are just combining 2 of the same sets. I was just wondering if anyone had done this? I think i might just want to build both of them. But i thought i would just ask around here.
  12. Found this sitting on the Walmart shelves for 70 bucks I wasn't sure if I wanted to get it cuz I don't collect Star wars but I thought for the price and the parts it'd be great for MOCs in the future... Not that I've made an MOC in about 5 years lol
  13. That set is one of the ones i owned as a child.
  14. I missed the book sale, and now i dont want to pay 60 bucks on amazon to get it...ugh
  15. You should rework this to "Copy" St Augustine fortress... (its already pretty close) Only reason why i say this is it would give you two points of attack on the front of getting produced. One they could use it for pirates theme, and one they could use if "architecture" theme...etc. I mean its already pretty close especially in the angles and the corners, so i wasn't sure how much it would take to "modify it" to add that element in. Otherwise it looks great and i would buy it!
  16. Here is my .02 It doesn't look that much like the MOC that i actually think it seems like 2 different sets almost. I could literally buy both sets at a store and not feel like i was duplicating purchases. On that note i love the design and since i am a castle fanatic i will purchase any set that is able to give me that crack fix. I probably will modify the chimney to match the MOC more though.
  17. i'd love some instructions so i could build this myself!
  18. Man the only thing i wish is that the website was easy to order from. As it stands now i have to click one add to cart and choose options. then go back to the home page choose the category "swords" and do it all over again. Then if their "Cyber monday" add pops up i cant even close out the add on the "x"in the right corner for whatever reason so i have to go back to home page and start all over again. I'd rather just email, a list of each item and the color and qty cause that would be easier.
  19. I think this is a perfect start to you taking this in its original form and then to start embellishing it as you learn and grow. nice!
  20. I would literally buy these instructions or this as a set!
  21. i did say i would ship to the UK if you were purchasing the bulk of the collection a few posts up
  22. I would ship if your wanting to purchase the collection.
