  1. Well Whitefang did a review of this set http://www.eurobrick...showtopic=32245 And he shows this image of the box: http://www.brickshel...66Review/21.jpg that shows "Alternate" models that deliver a different design. I think Eurobricks with all its members should tackle this challenge of building some of these for each set and have instructions or LXF files or whatever for them. I said in my first post for those who are not great MOC'er being able to build even these simple models really changes your perception of what the brick was originally intended. It will give that person the feeling of accomplishment if they build it. I want to say almost like they would be proud of what they built even though instructions were provided. I really think this will just help and encourage them to grow their own skills. I really miss these designs on Boxes as opposed to flickfire images and "Action Scenes" that you can never really re-create
  2. I think your missing the point , but if you actually search that link you sent me, there's very little in common to what i was asking for. I think i did go through the LD Sets and looked through them. Maybe it has changed since the last time i was looking through the list but I dont remember them being the Alternates that were shown on the box. I will take the next hour or so to go through the list to see if i am incorrect.
  3. I cant be the first to ask this and maybe i'm missing the right thread. Could we have an "Official Alternate Playsets - Drawn in LDD" with instructions? I would love to have a list of alternate models that they released in the 80's and 90's on the boxes and be able to find Instructions on how to build them. They must use the original parts and nothing extra.. i think this would add a new dimension to this forum and i for one would visit this section more often. I know that when i first came out of the dark ages, my first desires and wishes were to collect the sets i played with. At the time i was not an MOC'er (nor really very good today either) and these would go a long way to satisfying creativity and even encourage ppl to look at the same parts in one set and see them outside their intended design. It may even spark their own creativity and encourage them to MOC. Is this a dead topic and been done to death before?
  4. YEah i'm not a great MOC'er, so this i would love to see a Fan Made Instructions so i could build this...
  5. I'd build this if you had Instructions..its that nice!
  6. You can always read through their annual reports.. they have 1999-2011 available still, online here: http://aboutus.lego..../annual-report/ Obviously they were a Private corp before then so you probably wont find much info. However they did have a minus 290million in 98 versus a profit of 250million in 99
  7. I could probably create a background like those in Photoshop in like 30 minutes. I'm not sure what exactly your looking for but we might be able to chat and see if i can do something for you.
  8. where do you get the Uruk Hai with the Hand prints on the helmet? Which set are they in?
  9. I dont know who you are but i'm not talking about the movies i'm talking about merchandising rights, and as for complete and utter nonsense, since i work at disney i heard this FIRSTHAND from one of the higher up directors.
  10. I disagree i Heard from a Producer at Disney who spoke off the record that they have aquired everything that lucasarts owned Indiana, SW, CW, everything. Not just that but they also aquired the GLOBAL copyrights in europe, Australia & New Zeland. They had expired and now disney owns them for the next ten years. Basically George has been trusting one or two individual companies or whover overseas to merchandise but since they lapsed not only did they Aquire LucasArts but the ability to market and sell it globally with running into the EU (european union) copyright laws and restrictions where they are more lax then american copyrights.
  11. Love it i would download these instructions and build this one!
  12. My TRU had about 50 of the zombie Drivers
  13. Wow I have not built anything that other people have built, but if you posted directions to this i would build this!
  14. Wow i thought surely i'd get some comments about my army!
  15. I finally got about 85% of my army together... i have about 6 - 10 of each faction on display in sets and i didnt want to grab them. I thought about adding my 70 pirates but thought if i did that i would do it in the pirates forum. 16. I hate you!! lol j/k... i just bought it on BL for 70 cause i couldn't find it anywhere
  17. My lego store makes them. I'm not sure if they all do though
  18. I bought 5 grab bags at the Lego Store (i screwed up and picked 6 and put one back that i should have kept...aaaargg) and Medieval Market for 79.99
  19. Hey does the bavarian Boy come with one feather in the package or does it have the circle with three different feathers attached to it?
  20. vynsane: Id be happy to help recreate some decals. I guess if you separated out different segments we could get two people working on them at the same time. At this rate we'd be doubling up the speed at which they get created.
  21. I would say yes it does, if your patient. sometimes i'm in a hurry and i mistake one for something else, so i would say general efficiency with this method is 95-100%
  22. oh wow...i thought it was just me that couldnt seem to get a good price on the 1x1 snot.... man i cant find them usually less then .10 cents average apiece!
  23. Well when i make a new file in AI i can choose the measurement in inches / mm / pixels / points / picas / cm. I would try it in pixels and see if that is the issue
  24. Id like to help this project also..being an Adobe illustrator user for over 17 years i have a love for all things vector... I'm not sure i like github cause it seems cumbersome. I'd like to be part of this group though. I can recreate just about any design you send my way, probably just like a few of us on here can do. But i think i like it if we have a collaborative effort of Designers rather then one or two doing all the heavy lifting. Can we do something like a Wiki? They use SVG for their graphics now... and i think we really need a Thumbnail image of the items. We can have accreditation listed on the page and it would record user changes and what they submitted. EDIT: Also i cant seem to get them to download i still get the validation thing happening
  25. It seemed to me he was saying that the staff allowed him to... But i also go the impression that he did fill it half way then put the parts then stacked on top of them in an effort to hide them...
