March 616 - Corrington's Escorted Trade Runs
Mike S replied to Mike S's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
Hopefully we will still be able to provide you an escort. This would be a good alternative to the Quick Wing convoy. Ahh, yes we can adjust the flotillas according to convoy participation. Don't worry about taking up room. The more ships the better! -

None of the convoys are full yet. Just tell me which convoy you want your ships in and I'll make it work. If I can't, I will contact you and we will figure something out. Opening another route seems a bit inefficient to me with the current map but eventually as more zones are added, we will open up more routes. Was there a reason why you would like another route? -
March 616 - Corrington's Escorted Trade Runs

Will the HMS Otter and the Sphinx be joining the same convoy as last time? We should have enough extra escorts to do an escorted bounty run as well but I would recommend speed 1 or 2 ships for this depending on the mission. You will be seeing uncharted waters for quite a few years. Its a good thing since you know there is always more out there to discover. -
The first case is brought to the Naval Licensing and Prize Court. Coyle Shipping Company and Associates requests permission to re-license the Sulky Harlequin with a 5T license.

March 616 - Eslandola's Escorted Trade Routes

I thought we discussed this somewhere but I don't remember where. From what I understood, the convoy can only go as far as the slowest ship... is this not correct? -

Arlinsport, 9th March, 616 to Madam the Queen, Aiden Coyle presents his humble duty to your Majesty, and wishes to inform your Majesty of the progress made on Fort Arlin. I sincerely hope your Majesty will be satisfied with our efforts on Fort Arlin. Although it does not utilize the most advanced architectural designs that are known as bastion forts, I do believe the renovations we have been making to the earthen embankments and structures are the best we can do with the funds we have on hand and will be quite suitable for the defense of Arlinsport for quite some time. And now before I draw out this letter with further reasons of the choices I have made in the renovations, let me inform you on our progress to date. We have replaced all the wooden fortifications with stone as well as completely encasing the earthen embankments in stone which has given us the opportunity to build more sheltered rooms along the inside of the walls. We now have yet to finish the parapet on three of the walls as well as the completion of the upper levels of the two multi leveled structures of the fort, the first being above the gate and second being a fortified tower similar to a keep on the inner side of the front wall.- 897 replies

Sir Stig is from Eslandola, not sure his vote counts here... Don't forget to add Tivall and Rhyn. I kind of like those as well.- 897 replies

To be honest, I was hoping there would be more name suggestions. I'm not completely sold but neither have I really tried thinking of any alternatives. When asked for random names, my assistant gave me Tivall for number 2 and Rhyn for 10. However I thought we might name the islands after our winners, Montoya and Alcock.- 897 replies

So here is the deal Ladies and Gentlemen. I was thinking about upgrading my Sulky Harlequin to 5F from 4T2 because I had originally planned on licensing it as a 5F but lacked the funds. The ship is as big and probably bigger than a lot of the current 5Fs but if there is a rule against upgrading a license then its a no go. You can't say yes to my ship and no to a ship that can be MOCed as the class it will be upgrading its license to. Just for the record Bregir is against both, but others it seems are fine with my ship but not for the capture.- 897 replies

Aiden Coyle is hoping to establish a rock quarry on Tiberia. He has sent geologists inland to see what kind of minerals are available on Tiberia. However he does not know where to send the "setup fee". Is it the license form or the transfer form?

So you mean I can't just buy all the licenses and drydock them all so that Ska doesn't have as much work on the MRCA next month? I suppose this does keep those with large fortunes from buying everything up while those with little to spend have a better chance to not be outbid.

I think Sarge has a point. It all depends on the MOC and since there are no MOCs yet, I don't see the problem with upgrading the license. Suppose I had not been able to get the funding for the Sulky and I licensed it as Class 2T because that was all the funding I had. I would be doing myself quite a disservice by under-licensing it if I won't be able to upgrade the license later. Also like Sarge mentioned, a ships rating can be improved by adding guns and crew as well as some other structural modifications. But as I've always stated, I believe that the MOC should back up the license wanted.- 897 replies

I have a question again about escort flotillas which I think may partially affect our decision on when we should upgrade. I'm assuming that once they are MOCed and added to the fleet, they can still be upgraded as long as they are built to the upgrades size. Should two 4A ships in an flotilla have an easy time overpowering 1 5A? If so depending on the number of new ships are added to Corrington's fleet this month, if we can get all the 4A ships MOCed, we may not even need to upgrade them yet. This being said, I put out a call for volunteers to build for the Queen's navy. If you can build a class 5A ship this month, please put dibs on one of the ships below. I will try to build a 5A as backup as well. Whisper (Class 4A) Lover’s Quarrel (Class 4A) Friends Forever (Class 4A) Butcher’s Baby (Class 3A) That also brings me to another question. When MOCed, how many classes higher can you build for a license? For the Butcher's Baby, can it be MOCed for a 5A upgrade or is 4A the highest upgrade it can get? As for the, Shadow (Class 1A), I really haven't the slightest idea what to do with it.- 897 replies
