Nice MOD The springs and the pneumatic cilinders are in parallel I suppose. So you compress the cilinder when you compress the spring, right?

Very nice. Again up at the lego group standards I would say -

Fantastic MOC, I could imagine TLG producing it. Very clean build, very clever mechanism... HoF IMHO -

Last day of the holiday... Next updates will be more infrequent . As promised a look under the bonnet: Now I can start on the interior in earnest. Any suggestions for the colour scheme? -

Looking really good, very smooth. A few points for improvement maybe: Can you really not get the steering wheel connected to the steering? It's a modelteam contest, so having suspension might even be too much, I've never seen a modelteam model with suspension (and you might get the space to connect the steering wheel ) I'm not too thrilled about the colour. It is probably due to part availability, but is it possible to make it in another colour than grey? Other than that, I do really like your model. It has a very polished look over it. -

I will tinker a bit with it today. I'll post a picture tonight. However it is quite simple, the new steering components fit inside the the wheel, which makes the steering point only half a stud away from the center of the wheel (when looking from above). That is close enough to not have too much unwanted travel to the sides. I tried the 4-link steering setup as well, that had an even better (virtual) steering point, but it doesn't steer that far. I also first built it in bricks with the old steering elements , but they have quite a limited turning angle. I will build the new version in bricks today and I suspect it will give a bigger turning angle... -
If you haven't published anything of your MOC yet, I see no reason why it can't enter the competition... You're just lucky that a competition came around when you were about finished

Steering has been added... It is not a very sharp turn it can make, but it works... I really love these new steering elements Swiveling headlights are in as well (that's why there is this orange lever at the left seat) As you can see I still have to do a lot of the interior work -

Yeah I am afraid for that as well. I will try to make a 4-link steering mechanism to get a virtual pivot point in the wheel center, maybe that way I only need a slightly bigger wheelarch... -

2nd day of building. I have shortened the nose with one stud, which I think is an improvement: I have lost the window edge though. I haven't been able to think of a good solution yet. I am struggling a bit with the air intake below the nose. This is the best I have come up with so far. The back is also presentable: Now I just have to make a frame to fit inside -

Thx Bond is indeed the version I'm aiming for. I'll try to make the submarine version with automatic switching between the two functions, but that'll be a hell of a function to implement, so I might have to settle for the "pull wheels off, put fins on" version (but then I'll want steering...) I also had my doubts about the nose, so I'll have to redesign that... -
What about military vehicles? Lego wouldn't bring them on the market, but there are lots of builders out there making fantastic modelteam like models.

Congratulations Doc_Brown and super-jaschka. And congrats to all contestants, it has been an amazing contest. So Jim thank you very much for organizing this, I have thoroughly enjoyed it all seven weeks. :) I'm already looking forward to the next challenge...

Generic Contest Discussion
Jeroen Ottens replied to Jim's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
I like the open vote scheme, but with a max of 5 points per entry, regardless the total number of points. I don't like the F1 scoring system because it does no justice to the relative quality of the entries. This contest is not about the relative position of the entries, it is about the relative quality IMHO. Of course you could argue that the 5 point rule limits also the relative quality range, but so far there have always been enough high quality entries in the contests to make that just a theoretical problem. -

Nice entry, really different from the rest. I'll download the LDD file to better understand your drivetrain, but 3 functions through a turntable is impressive. Just being curious: is there a logic in the colour coding of the bricks you used? -
Cool idea. I like the two greens. I also like the retractable landing-gear being coupled to the tilt-mechanism, that's really cool. The area below the wing looks a bit open. Just a few days left, so keep on working
