  1. The group function looks exactly like what I need. But does it also work with LPub3D? Cause it doesn't seem to work for me (the 'old' axle is still visible next to the 'new' one) :( These are the code snippets that I use: First in the submodel (which is part of the big file): 0 MLCAD BGT group_axle 1 0 80 80 0 -1 0 0 0 0.7071 -0.7071 0 -0.7071 -0.7071 3706.dat 0 GROUP 1 group_axle And then in the main model: 0 STEP 0 !LPUB REMOVE GROUP group_axle 0 LPUB PART BEGIN IGN 1 0 60 80 0 -1 0 0 0 0.7071 -0.7071 0 -0.7071 -0.7071 3706.dat 0 LPUB PART END I must say there is some ambiguity on the net for the exact commands: I have seen both MLCAD BGT group_name as well as MLCAD BTG group_name Also I have seen both !LPUB REMOVE GROUP group_name as well as !LPUB GROUP REMOVE group_name (but this latter variant gives a parsing error in LPUB3D so I assume that is incorrect)
  2. Many thanks guys I have solved my issue now by manually deleting the flexaxle parts from the file, which was a bit of a chore, but it worked. Now I only have to figure out how to push an axle inwards in the building instructions... The axle is part of a submodule to make it more complex...
  3. I am not really a fan of hotrods, but this one is special. I love the bold colourscheme and the superclean lines.
  4. Hi, I would like to present to you my latest MOC, the BMW 328 Hommage: It features the standard functions for a Lego Technic supercar: - 4 wheel independent suspension - steering geometry including Ackerman, positive camber and minimal (0.5 stud) scrub radius - V6 fake engine - Opening hood - A 4+N+R sequential gearbox This was the thing that has given me the most headaches during the build. But after 3 months of trying way too many designs to mention I finally succeeded. It is operated by the gearstick in the center: The stick can be moved sideways to switch between drive (D), neutral (N) and reverse (R ). If in drive the stick can be moved forward and backwards to switch gearing up or down. A mechanical lock prevents switching from 1 to 4 or vice versa. This model started when I cleaned up my workplace to make space for the SS Amsterdam. The BMW was already lurking in my head, but I hadn't figured out how make the iconic headlights. But during the cleaning I saw this: and suddenly I knew how to make the lights and forgot the ship completely: I have tried to replicate the flowing asymmetric design of the interior within the limits of the Lego system: A picture of the rear: More photos can be found on my Flickr page: https://www.flickr.c...157665220014892 Payed instructions are on their way as well. Some trivia to finish with: Since 19L flexaxle is available in black again I felt no inhibition to use 6 of them in this model The pin with pinhole is rapidly becoming my favorite part: I used 58 of them (it helps that the model is black) I have tried to hard to use only parts that are readily available, the only really old parts are the wheels I think I used 'only' 51 panels if I counted correctly Leg godt, Jeroen
  5. What a beauty I love it, very elegant lines & filled to the brim with PF. Masterpiece...
  6. Another question: My filesize has grown over 5 MB (which is an issue for rebrickable when I try to upload my model there). I figured all the flexaxles I used are causing this so I removed some of them, but it hardly matters for the filesize. When inspecting the file it looks like the bezier curve information is still there. Any thoughts? I'm using LDCad v1.4
  7. thx, I'll try my luck there
  8. Hi, I'm in the process of making building instructions of my latest MOC, but I think this part is not in the LDraw parts lists: It is the Bionicle Shoulder Armor with part nr x345 (alternative 43559 or 16679). Neither of the three can be found in the LDraw part tracker. Has anyone ever attempted to model this part? Or is someone willing to give it a try? (It has been a long time since I made my last part in LDraw, and I hope there is some better tooling than the pen & paper I used in my time).
  9. So I guess I have to the ghosting in another program then?
  10. Is there a tutorial on how to use MLCAD-like ghosting with LDCAD? I have an axle that has to be pushed inwards one stud... Do I need to ghost the part in it's outward position and then add it again in a later step in the final position?
  11. Ah, my bad. I only knew the previous design. BTW I forgot to praise the grill
  12. Looks solid! No flimsy structures, but still kept the smooth curves, well done The only thing that bugs me is the red panel that crosses the black area at the side. Nothing a sticker can't solve, so I suppose if one really wanted that it is possible to add.
  13. So... time for the next attempt. Building MOC's is just like writing books (or any form of creative art for that matter): 5% inspiration and 95% transpiration
  14. I'd like some advice from you guys. I'd like to photograph a black model that has some black on black details. Are there any obvious things I should do before I start endless shootings? I have a Nikon D40 camera and no special lights whatsoever, so I usually shoot outdoors (or in my greenhouse), but I suspect that this time that will not be enough. So any advice is most welcome.
  15. Amazing creation. I particularly like the colourscheme with all the black railings. It really gives some sense of scale. It looks like it is really well balanced around the pivot point, did you achieve that in one try, or did you have to tinker with the design to get that right?
  16. I think it is the corner of a 5x7 frame
  17. Nice car I like the roof a lot... It is a bit on the dark side though
  18. Great to see this beauty finished. All the hard work has truly paid off. Very clever (and still playable) paddle shifters. I do have to agree with the others on the roof though, it is just that little bit too high. But I know how hard it is to follow all the lines of the original (I am pretty sure I couldn't have done it any better). Enjoy the moment (and start thinking about your next project )
  19. Could you use an old-style gearbox driving ring (or driving ring extension) sliding over a smooth axleconnector? You have to figure out a way to make the surrounding swashplate though
  20. I recognize the sentiment of using black. However there ae of course more colours used in the steamlocomotive era... The emerald night has a dark green livery And I am pretty sure there have been some dark blue trains as well...Combined with LBG undercarriage...
  21. Wow, incredible... Fantastic detailing, work of art. If I may ask: did you ever consider making a steam locomotive at this scale?
  22. Very nice solution for the paddle shifters, useable & beautiful: very well done
  23. Looking good! The angled panels are great indeed. The sides do look a little straight, How is that on the real car? Do they curve in and outwards?
  24. Looking at the picture in this post: http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=120399&st=325#entry2452751 I don't think there will be rear wheel steering. You can clearly see a double crossblock, which makes perfect sense with fixed rear wheels.
