Perhaps you should make one topic for both truck and windmill and name it 42102 model alternatives for something. BTW nice work with limited parts.

Remote Control Garbage Truck

I think he uses small linear actuator for steering powered by M-motor Perhaps he could make reduction from XL motor 12-20 tooth and raise motor by 2 studs... -

Very cool -
I had a pleasure to test drive smaller Fastrac (4220) and it us very comfortable; full suspension (both axles), cab and seat suspended; steering wheel is easier than in my car and Trac had excellent air conditioning... Really looking forward to see those mid size tractor tires in my hands when they'll be available.

42131 - CAT D11 Bulldozer
1gor replied to Maaboo the Witch's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Honestly I like panel work on bonnet, but for other details I'll wait for future images. IMHO if there is possibility to have gearbox to achieve other functions or to have functions like 8275. Yellow treads are nice. It seems that even real dozer has (a little bit) bigger drive wheel than idlers. -

Actually I hope to see what I can do (not Scooby doo) with new Zetros tire and decide if I'll switch to 1:18 models instead of 1:15; smaller scale is better for my Unimog U423 (cab should be 15 studs wide which makes me easier), classic US trucks could have 17 studs wide chassis with 62.4 tires, and I can perhaps make Fastrac 8330 together with smaller 4220 (based on new Zetros tire perhaps). Currently I still work on telehandler, but it is a bit of standstill because I have come to solution which is very similar to one @eric trax made on his Scorpion telehandler, but I want to have some my ideas, and it is tempting for me to try to make small telehandler with Jeep tires (I have bought one set and tires are gorgeous )... so basically I spend more time on forum that building specially waiting for time to get confirmation on Zetros tire dimensions. As for Deere, I had few years ago made 7R model, but I'm rethinking on making this if yellow sprockets will fit the 1:18 scale...you could say it is on my to-do mocs list, but have fould that in 1:18 scale Liebherr sprockets will perfectly fit terratrac Claas Jaguar or Lexion... with new Zetros tire on rear... "Internals" could be based on frames and to cover it with green panels and liftarms

Systems tractors and other machinery
1gor replied to 1gor's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
As I work on few projects simultaneously (and there is new Zetros coming up with beautiful smaller tractor tires) I have made some improvements to smaller scale Unimog U423 (1:18) in hope to make appropriate for same scale Fastrac 8330 in the future... At the moment axles and front chassis part are made. Wheelbase will be 21 studs (without mid differential and kind if floating front) and overall width over tires less than 17 studs (including portal axle hubs) as you can see on images below. I hope that trucks and Unimog lovers will find that project interesting. This will be (99%) complete manual model and I'll try to make optimized as possible but still recognizable. Just didn't decide to make orange or perhaps white cab.- 625 replies

But when you mention CLAAS, the brand is known for harvesters and they have rear tires usually 85% size of front. Modern tractors like bigger Fastrac 8 series have similar ratio front to rear (only vice versa), Fendt Vario 9 and 10 series have similar tire size ratio, so it is also possible to have those closer to 107mm like 90-95mm, but in a few months we will know for sure. At the end it is better to have any kind new than none...

Systems tractors and other machinery
1gor replied to 1gor's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
In time when you all enjoy Zetros rumors and new information, I had some time to play with telehandler. After several attempts that did not give any success (lift motor or boom motor or attachments motor can not be put elsewhere because of wide tires), so I had to make boom with similarities that can not be ignored with solution made by @eric trax on his CLAAS Scorpion as you can see here I need some plates to put by the side and to complete front part to hide attachments m-motor as much as possible. Any comment and criticism are welcome.- 625 replies
