  1. Arrr, I adore the coat an' the Tricorn, Matey! One question though, does the tricorn have a socket for a plume?
  2. In Lego Movie it seems Octan is producing and controlling EVERYTHING. From Petrol, to tv programs, absolutely everything comes from that company...
  3. I think the hat comprises of the old Space armor from UFO and/or Insectoids theme, White Epaulettes, King Kahuka's headdress plume, and something to keep it all together, propably a clip with stick, and something else...
  4. Call me a fool for still having hope, but now I was thinking, maybe we'll get the update in December as a Christmas present from TLG? Maybe they planned it all along? Maybe It's a really huge update, with all new bricks released this year, or maybe even it will be LDD 5.0? We'll have to wait another month to find out...
  5. Old news pal, we were discussing about the image in question a couple pages before...
  6. Yep, he's hiding in the mausoleum: And, as I promised, here are the .lxf, one is the regular graveyard, the other is a halloween edition: Regular: http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/Eggyslav/Halloween/modular_graveyard.lxf Halloween: http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/Eggyslav/Halloween/modular_graveyard_haloween.lxf
  7. MUAHAHA! It's the spookiest time of the year, and time to show you my new LDD creation! And it's a halloween themed MOC, no less, so, without any further ado, let's take a stroll through the Saint Modular's Cemetary... This place is modular, but not Detective Office, or Parisian Restaurant Modular, but instead, every grave with it's parcel (and inhabitant ), is a module on it's own, connected via technic pins, so is the fencing and the gate. Now, St Modular's seems to be a quiet, somber place of rest for departed minifigs, but... On Halloween Night, right after clock strikes midnight, all hell breaks loose, and the graveyard gets haunted by popculture references, THE HORROR! When the night falls, and the full moon shines in all it's glory, the sky get's littered with all things paranormal. Ghosts racing through the night, flying saucers are here in search of inteligent life forms (good luck with that... ), and werewolf calls his pack on a hunt. Also, It beats me how a cursed sarcophagus with it's wrapped up owner got it's way here from Egypt, but whatever! Here we have, straight outta Sleepy Hollow, the Headless Horseman, and his trusty steed, rearing triumphally. But who's that mysterious fellow in black clothes and mask that every self proclaimed computer hacker seems to wear nowadays? Yup, It's Agent Smith Elrond V! And what does V stands for? Very cool MOC, obviously. And Vendetta. Moving on! There's a little Dance party here, with King of Pop Himself, immortalized as a minifig. Chucky, put down that knife, you sexy doll you, just look at that charming smile... Also, Slenderman's here. And a generic evil Mecha, don't mind him, he's aquiring his target, ahem, I mean having a good time... One, two, Freddy's coming for you... Nah, he's just hiding behind the grave, sneaky bastard... Right at the front Cthulhu would like to have a swim, but Sadako/Samara won't let him in her well... What a Halloween MOC would be without vampires? Unfortunately, Dracula, Count Orlok, Lestat and Count von Count couldn't come to the party, so we had to bring this guy, Edward Cullen. Darth Vader was so annoyed that he force-choked mr. Sparkly McStupidface. Damn, Pattison sure has tough luck, when it comes to dying at a graveyard, first You-Know-Who, and now another dark lord have killed him... But Wait, What's that green gooey stuff under the crypt's wall? Oh, these are just Xenomorph Eggs, But what is it? A young Yautja Warrior is trying to lay his hands on them... Watch out Hunter, there's an Alien queen, ready to defend her offspring, or rather incubating facehuggers... Despite this all happening, a plucky gravedigger on his nightshift seems to be not aware of the paranormal activity in his workplace. Well, you can see in his face he has some HAUNTING suspicion, that something EERIE is going on, but that was only autumn wind HOWLING, and giving him the CREEPS. Ok, I'll stop here this pun is so DREADful, it's SCARY... And, that's quite it, soon I'll upload the .lxf so you can dl it and admire it in it's whole glory. Happy Halloween Everybody! Also, there's one hidden character, did you spot Waldo? If so, post in comments!
  8. I really hope Scary Knight won't turn out to be a zombie footballer, maybe the chinless green helmet will go with the minifig, but instead of the face grid it will come with typically medieval visor?
  9. The Queen's hair is Calamity Drone's recolored hair. AND I LOVE THAT HAIRPIECE. It's perfect for so many historical female minifigs, from 1500 up to 1800, and it's great we get more recolours of it, I wish it'll eventually come in light bley, or white, to emulate a roccoco style powdered wigs...
  10. It seems that Klutz is gonna have crutches, I wonder how he'll hold them, unless... NEW ARM MOLD?
  11. I wouldn't be so sure, I guess it will be a typical Medieval queen, to go with series 13 King, Also, We already had evil/scary knight in series 7, so there are three possibilities: 1. The knight is female, 2. the knight is "Scary", so maybe it's a undead Death Knight a' la Warcraft (which would be really cool), and the third and final option is, that It's an evil Nexo-knight to tie in with the upcomming theme... Also, Homme Maladroit might not be a Klutz, maybe he's a classical silent movie Villain, as it was suggested before...
  12. 1. Johnny Thunder, since I always was interested in ancient history and archaeology, the Adventurers theme, with it's dashing Aussie protagonist was one of my all-time favourite LEGO Themes. 2. Basil the Batlord,(aka Count Batlord in the UK) the mighty leader of Fright Knights is one of the most unique minifigs, with his helmet, unique face print, cape and torso, and he's pretty badass too, whether he might or might not be a vampire... 3. Lord Sam Sinister, I love his stereotypical dastardly appearance, the monocle, the 'stache, the battle scars, and hook for a hand, and he's one stylish villain too. 4. Captain Redbeard, because Pirates are awesome, and I was delighted when Lego remade this classic minifig in more detailed, contemporary style to go with Brick Bounty. 5. Pharaoh Hotep, Actually I really rather prefer Amset-Ra, but I never had that minifig, but still, Hotep was the first Lego Mummy, and the first to introduce nemes headpiece. 6.CMF series 3 Space Villain, nice little throwback to Blacktron, with prosthetic robo-arm, pegleg, and cool printing. 7. Ice Planet Astronaut, Yes Arctic_Ace, the one in your avatar, I also love that head. 8. Space Police II Commander: I like his green and black space suit/uniform, his red epaulettes, but my favourite part of the minifig is the head, with red to brown hair and brows, and that cool black headset, perfect for many modern or sci-fi minifigs. 9. Imperial Admiral from latest Pirates Line in Brick Bounty, since the powdered wig showed up on CMF Revolutionary Soldier's head, I always wanted to see it in a historical 18th century theme like Pirates, and there it is, I love this minifig, it's so delightfully... Foppish. 10. And last but not least, it's this bandit from 1996 Western theme: I like his torso especially, an elegant black coat over what seems to be a blue (denim?) shirt, and a green bowtie, plus a gun tucked behind his belt.
  13. As engie would say, "I love that lil' gun". have you considered building also upgraded versions? Also, "Poot dispenser here"!
  14. Please, Prussians and other Baltic People vs. Teutonic Knights, that would be cool, with Conrad of Masovia, and his polish knights, now THAT's what I would like to see...
  15. I would like something akin to old unreleased Europe theme, instead of typically medieval setting, I would love to see something based around 17-18th century, optionally up to Napoleonic era.... Now, I know this would be similar to Pirates theme, but whithout ships, but, I guess this would be more mature in design theme (no cartoony flags and coats of arms, no Juniorisation, more subdued colours), akin to Kingdoms theme, perhaps throw in some fantasy elements (Trolls uder the bridges, Witches, Alchemists), or clockwork, or even steampunk elements to make it more interesting, or make two warring factions, one using Da Vinci-like technology and gadgets, and one that is all about occult and alchemy... Also, another Castle theme that comes into mind, It's a remake of Forestmen, pitted against the remake of Wolf Pack, a merry band of forest dwelling outlaws, who take from rich, and give to the poor, versus powerful gang of bandit knights, who terrorize the whole kingdom, that would be cool, and it could be focusing more on civilian buildings, like taverns, villages, farms, workshops, but also Wolf Pack strongholds, Forestmen camps, etc...
  16. I'd love a Marie Antoinette Minifig, and Louis XVI to pair...
  17. Yeah, It is very ambigous, whether Basil was meant to be a vampire, or not, that's why I started this topic, to provoke discussion on the subject. At first, I also thought that Basil was just a mortal man, perhaps with some dark magical powers, which would explain his control over dragons, and undead thralls (It might as well being Willa's doings, as Basil's court mage and right hand), but then I played Lego Racers, and put some thought together, and now the evidence I collected convinced me that Basil the Batlord is a blood sucking nosferatu in minifigure form, his overall theme, general likeness in appearance to a real life evil warlord, who also was suspected of being a vampire, and the ingame material seems to point in that direction...
  18. Lord Harkon from Skyrim would Disaggree So do Vampires in Heroes of Might and Magic VI Or Kain, From Soul Reaver (Ok, maybe not the best example, but look, Pauldrons and Gauntlets are a part of armor right?) And for God's sake, the man himself, Gary Oldman Dracula, in 1992 movie: So, yeah, plus, a helmet would protect from sun, and a steel breastplate would easily block a stake to a heart, so Vampires + Armor = Yes!
  19. Huh, That would be an interesting plot twist, if Basil was a just a human servant to a vampire, being just a right hand of a greater, hidden evil... But there is no proof of Basil's master's existance, besides that contradicts all the evidence we gathered here... Unless we're talking about one's imaginated scenarios, while building and playing, in that case everything is possible, Heck, I even made a story about how in the Fantasy Era, the evil Wizard from that theme ressurected Basil as a Lich, to be the leader of his army, but soon the tables turned, and the batlord made the wizard his servant...
  20. Yes, yes it is official Lego game, published by Lego Media for PC and Nintendo 64.
  21. Nevertheless, we are kinda off track here, this topic isn't about whether Fright Knights were a good line or not, but rather, discussing about my little theory/conspiracy...
  22. When you think about vampires and Lego, most of us remember the first real vampire in lego form to be this minifig from 2002 Studios Line: But, What if I told you, this gentleman wasn't the first bloodsucker on the block? No, exactly five years earlier, Anno Domini 1997, In TLG's dark age of financial problems and juniorisation, one theme emerged, as a successor, or maybe rival fraction to Royal Knights, this time based on medieval horror and dark fantasy, hence the name Fright Knights. Despite all the juniorisation I really liked this theme, even though i only had one set from it, It was considerably darker in tone, no longer we were playing as a noble ruler King Richard, and his gallant knights, oh, no. Instead we had a grim kingdom, ruled with an iron fist by Lord Basil, who aided his army with black dragons and dark Magic. Here Is the Batlord himself: At first glance you can see this guy is all about bats, hell, it was the first theme to introduce the bat piece, which was thoroughly used in theme's sets. Even the name, Basil The friggin' BAT lord, not Rat Lord, or Ferret lord, or Wombat Lord, but Bat lord! Now, what we know about Bats? They are mammals, with ability of active flight, they are nocturnal predators feeding on insects and other small creatures, they use echolocation, and are commonly associated with vampires. AHA! First clue! But just because Basil likes bats, so much, that he has one in his coat of arms, doesn't make him a vampire... Yet. Now, let's not forget that Basil's domain isfull of (black) Magic. Ghosts, Dragons, living Skeletons, and our first lego witch to date, Willa, are all denizens there. It would make total sense, if the ruler of the land was also undead, right? Now, Lord Basil may not look like typical vampire, he's not pallid, his skin has a healthy yellow hue of a living, breathing minifig, but look at his face, the brows, the hair, the mustache, that cape, does it look familiar? It should, I'd say, Basil the Batlord is totally based on Vlad III Tepes, aka Vlad the Impaler, aka Dracula, or rather his depiction in Bram Stoker's novel (yes, original Dracula had some sweet 'stache, just like Basil, but because of Bela Lugosi and Christopher Lee we're stuck with clean shaved image of the Count). I mean, just look at the Impaler, and then on the Batlord, back to Vlad, now back to Basil. The resemblance is striking! Other than that, let me ask you something. What is Basil's favourite pet (apart from omnipresent bats)? A Black Dragon with trans-orange wings, and there's a little fun fact for y'all: Dracula (actually Drăculea) in romanian means "Son of a Dragon". Coincidence? I think not. Now, going back to Batlord's appearance, I mentionned, that Basil, apart from similarities to a certain Impaler, affinity to bats and cape stolen borrowed from Batman, has no typical physiological features of a vampire. No pale skin, no spooky glowing eyes, no fangs. Is that so? Enter evidence no. 3! Basil the Batlord's Driving Licence! No joke, in Lego Racers our hero (anti-hero? Villain?) is the hosting Champion of Circuit 3, and you can get his car and his fig, if you defeat him. I've allowed myself to make the Batlord without his helmet, now say cheese! If you give Basil angry expression, you can Clearly see his true nature, hidden behind that default scowl of his, so let's see: Pale skin? Nope, still not there, BUT, Red Glowy Eyes? Check. Fangs? Check! If it wasn't clear enough, here's a pic of happy Basil, showing off his pearly whites: See? Fangs! Now it's a common lore thing, that Vampires are masters of concealing their nature, they look like perfectly normal humans, untill they decide to reveal themselves. And this might be the case with Basil. Now, we covered his appearance, but does the Batlord show some behaviors attributed to vampires? Naturally, since Lego is for Kids, we won't be seeing Basil suck the blood of virgins, or skewer some random minifigs on a pointed stick, Let's look at Lego Racers again, and watch Circuit 3 intro: Did... Did Basil just hissed at me? Also, look at that stereotypical face covered with cape pose, It totally screams "look at me! Imma Vampire!". It also may scream "I don't like the sun very much", or "I'm an angsty gothy dude", which is the same. Kinda. Now, last but not Least, Let's have a look at Basil's home, the Night Lord's Castle. While Basil doesn't sleep in a coffin, his castle certainly has a gothic hounted castle vibe to it, with skeletons, magic laboratory, bats, and chokeful of hidden passages and doors, It's like straight up ripped from Castlevania. To summarize, Is Basil the Batlord the first Lego Vampire? The evidence says yes, everything, from the character design to the overall theme of Fright Knights, there were hidden hints, that mr. Winged Helmet is one of the children of the night. Is it true, or is it not, I leave that to you. But one thing is certain, you won't look at the Fright Knights the same way as you did fellow AFOLS. But hey, that's just a theory, ALEGO THEORY!
  23. Where did you get that fur cape on Jean? Other than that, awesome job. :)
  24. -"I'M INVINCIBLE!!!" -"You're a loony..."
  25. Hooray, Hope Restored! Now all we need is a liiittle more patience, and eventually we'll get the update!
