  2. Photos are up, uploading video now
  3. Finally my build is complete, I will post pictures and video soon. I wonder why there is no Mindstorms contest entries?
  4. I should get some xl motors
  5. I was watching and thinking that the boom must hit the ceiling at some point
  6. Hey guys! Thanks for previous answers. I wanted to discuss some future of LEGO sets. Like distant future. There was a thread somewhere here "What LEGO didn't built yet" or something like that, where people offered new ideas of vehicles but I cannot find it. So lets post some examples here maybe? The second thing - there was some great evolutionary steps in Lego like when it went from wood to plastic and when technic went from studs to studless. I wonder what the next step of the design may be in future. What's the future form of studless?
  7. As far as I know this is the file with all patches applied http://sourceforge.net/p/brickos/patches/_discuss/thread/61d9e7ac/b590/attachment/bibo-0.04-ms1.bz2
  8. http://sourceforge.net/projects/legos/ Here are some patches http://sourceforge.net/p/brickos/patches/21/
  9. A very nice MOC to introduce your child in the LEGO universe!
  10. Standard... like american soccer. Anyways - bearing for a vehicle or a mechanism?
  11. Always wondered why lego motors work good only in one direction. I mean if it rotates clockwise it's good, if it's rotating counterclockwise it still works but with lags and stutter. New batteries newer solve this with any of my motors. Any super hard quantum theory of why is this happening? Also the famous Backhoe loader why is it so popular? Had 3 variants if I remember correct. Oh and the tow truck! Also a very popular model within official sets. Any thoughts?
  12. Wow, are you working in area 51 reverse engineering facility or something? Cause they surely could use your skills
  13. http://www.bricklink...tem.asp?P=57587 Available in multiple colors The nose cone was one of the main concerns alongside with blades. But I found a descent part to play the role. If you want to get one - keep in mind it bends pretty easy. It's not rock solid.
  14. Well it's obvious that if you find the looks of these 2 great models "messy" then you must have a vision of how they should look like? I just want to see it from your point of view. I can see what these models look like and I don't think that they are bad, messy, inconsistent or anything like that. But I can't see your examples of how it should be. So I cannot compare "your version vs TLG's" to see where did they "fail" I personally find 42008 very solid and compact construction, and I Iike how it is designed and build
  15. Well what this truck and 42008 should look like then? Please provide "not messy" version I want to see it so bad
  16. I hoped that one day somebody will do this! I wondered why TLG doesn't do this as a marketing on their website. The videos are cool, 42009 looks great in stop motion. Keep up the good work!
  17. I must disagree - there are like 5 common scales in technic. Besides comparing the scales of different models is like comparing building sizes. Each has it's own purpose and the scale is just 1 of the factors. TLG must plan the variety of sets, their functionality, prices, scales, box sizes, logistics etc. And there is no problem with that. Such policy provides better choice. Look for Apple for example. If you want to buy a monitor - there's like 2 models. If you need small monitor Apple doesn't have it. If you need really big monitor like a tv panel - yet againt there is no such thing in their store. But lets look at Samsung, Lg, Panasonic etc - they have small, medium, big, huge panels! So everybody can find something that fits. Besides, the variety of parts allows you to create your own scale. I was facing the problem of making rather big propeller, but there was no blades of the size I required. They were either too small or too big. So I just made my own.
  18. Yes! As soon as I get some camera. Functions + overview.
  19. Now I'm moving to the TRIPLE challenge
  20. Thanks! It's a V18 I was trying to recreate Pratt&Whitney R800 radial engine, but I didn't have some parts, so I decided to make a "sport" version. The X engine didn't fit with all the mechanical parts. There will be a video tomorrow or a day after tomorrow of all mechanics and functions. More photos uploading...
