And the new Friends and Elves also come out. So I won't have problems getting to $75 again for a double decker bus!

I've never even seen the original Ghostbusters and this set interests me. Those beautiful girls (And one has glasses!) and new hair (I like the ponytail-bun)! And a car that fits 4 people at once! Have we had that before?

I just got Minnie Mouse and "Mr. Incredible" (who, next to Minnie, looks even MORE like Dash) And I'm so charmed. I'll have to go get Mickey and the ducks. I did not expect to like them as much as I have!- 4,155 replies

that's what I was wondering. Seems like this year's Winter Village set is the train I keep hearing about. -

I don't know about marketting. I know my son (almost-9) is just as interested in Elves sets as the Superheroes and Minecraft when perusing the Lego catalogs. This could be because of his mom and sister enjoying dragons. But he seems perfectly happy to play with minidolls with the dragons and then turn around and use minifigures with the Minecraft set. My daughter (almost-5) is more likely to play with minidolls and minifigures together in the same scene. OTOH, sometimes horses become characters in her play as well. And last night she was the squirrel... -
He was referring to his forum title. I love the Elves color scheme. I have discovered I do not have a big preference minidoll or minifigure. I buy some sets of each. But I do love what they have done with the Elves -- particularly regarding the shades of color in their hair. I wish I could use minidolls as moms and dads and minifigures as little kids for family play. But the proportions do not work.

I really like the DNA helix. It would be interesting to see that in real Legos. It'd make a great desk model. What did you use for the balls? I'm not sure I'd have recognized the other two. :( Though it brings up fond memories of my days in the lab denaturing DNA.

That appears to be more LEgo Elves in the September 2016 Lego Magazine.

Wow. I didn't even think to check HEB. They don't usually have LEgo until WAY past date. Was this a Super HEB or the regular one?- 4,155 replies

It really needs at least a circle of track. I want this train to put under our Christmas tree. I don't want to have to piece together the track needed for that. Power FUnctions? Not as needed. We can use hands to make the train go. But the track needs to be in the set.

I thought it was a new store, "Coming Soon" (Open Aug 20) kind of thing And Wow. Until I looked through the first page, I didn't realize HOW MANY Friends Sets we have coming out this year.

My daughter (age 4) has a combination of minifigures and minidolls. She tends to play with whichever is to hand at the moment. Even when my son (age 8) is playing (who also has Mixels and Minecraft-type figures), I don't see any inclination to avoid minidolls. when he's playing with an Elves set (or dragon), he reaches for a minidoll. When it is a Minecraft set, he reaches for a Minecraft figure. Etc.

I think the Ariel minidoll looks much better than the ARiel minifig. Though i might get the minifig just to use the hair on the minidoll.- 4,155 replies

"LEGO Ruins Creativity"... Again
Sarah replied to PicnicBasketSam's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Agreed. He's my age (I'll be 43 in September). And my very first set (The Farm) had instructions for building things. So did the second and the third (Kitchen, Bathroom). OTOH, the Farm had a REALLY nice inset in the box. Such that it encouraged you to put your blocks back in an organized fashion and easily be able to find the blocks you wanted for future building. And a fairly limited color pallette (nice to make other things without having too horrible a sorting isssue). And Lots of cool pictures on the inside of the cover to give you ideas for other things to make. -
I had an erector set as a kid! I much preferred my Legos. I think my Dad saw the Lego set and loved it so much he wanted to have some around, so he got Lego for my sister and I (And played with it with us). He bought the St. Louis plane for himself (All growing up, I thought that was a Lego set he had kept from childhood. Nope. Its from the mid-70s, same era as our first sets.)

We saw that Saturday at the Austin Lego store. It seemed to be just a journal with a small picture on every page. (Same picture. Maybe the map?) ETA: Evidently I did not look close enough. I did not see all those pictures. Just lined pages.

We opened the box and put together the Water Dragon set last night. 41172 The Water Dragon Adventure. Lego sent us THREE Dragon wings. But only one tail wing :( My kids were a bit bummed. Then my daughter (4 yo) remembered Kai's fire dragon. She ran to her box and pulled one of his tail fins off to donate to the cause. So our water dragon is now "Flaming Water" Oh and I guess I get to put a Replacement Parts order in. This wing is totally missing not just misplaced.

Thank you!

I LOVE the swing ride. Its probably my favorite. Makes you feel like you are flying (ON the rides I have ridden, it does not rock like that. Rather it telescopes. So the chairs are near the ground when you get on. But once the ride starts, you are flying higher in the sky. Especially beautiful when you are partially over water and can see the whole park and you go.) But my husband gets motion sick on it :( Where did you get the chains from?

Is anyone able to download the May 2016 calendar? Or see the 2nd page some other way? I'm just getting a small picture of the calendar when I try.

AS a mother, I'm not overly fond of any of the shooters on models. The pieces end up EVERYWHERE! And there is a big hullabaloo when a piece gets lost.
