Tree houses are fun to design, aren't they?

Cool and creative alternative builds, Danth. I like how you come up with your own functions and solutions for not having the right part for your MOC. I think that there lies the creativity which LEGO makes so awesome.

How do you control your spending & what do you collect
Orange Leader replied to Seeky's topic in General LEGO Discussion
I decide what I really want and that has the highest priority. It's for me very rare to purchase a whole wave of a LEGO theme. Being very discriminating in the sets I buy is often a burden, because I regret sometimes that I haven't bought certain discontinued sets. But I think that's a part of life and I accept that. The only thing I really dislike about TLG's stock policy, is that most sets are no longer than 1 year or less available (with the exception ofcourse like the Death Star). I wish I could at least take some time to justify a purchase. Keeping up your loot per month is something I'm doing very recent. It helps keeping track what I bought back then. -
Thanks for the review, Dreamweb! I only own the Imperial Flagship and the Corsair Ship from LotR and I was thinking of 'finally' getting a typical LEGO Pirate's ship. It's a pity I never got Queen Ann's Revenge, but that's another story. I'm still doubting because the ship gives me an unimpressive feeling that not just needs a MOD, but a complete MOC overhaul. The one sided trangle sail printing is a shame. Speaking of sails, I thought the material was supposed to be 'Cloth'? At least that's what It says on bricklink, along with the old style sails. I think I really have to see this ship in real life to form an absolute opinion.

Thanks for replies, guys! And yes, It's a very simplistic design. I tried to get the BT1 look but instead with lime/neon green colours. It's also as swooshable as a dart!

No interest in Vikings here. I'd love to have a broad Castle line with at least three factions with some fantasy elements. Factions could be: Peasents/towns folk, knights/army, forest men/elves, witches/super natural. They could be good, bad or neutral factions for all I care.

What do you get when you fuse the Blacktron I Invader with Blacktron II's Allied Avenger? The Allied Invader. More than a nuisance than a dangerous treat in dogfights, the Allied Invader is an incredible speedy craft with weak firepower. Due to It's speed, It's not a very steerable fighter and needs broad space to manoeuvre. It's sometimes used as a kamikaze attack, delivering a deep piercing attack that might burst any vessel.

I'm wondering about the best strategy for building up your colours as well. I think It's a good idea to buy certain sets without minifigs, however I haven't had much luck about this buying strategy yet. What I do at the moment is this: I built in two themes: Space (scifi) and Castle (fantasy). Depending on the colours I have already, I start to browse bricklink on colours and look If certain colours have useful elements that I consider to be useful for personal MOCcing. I invest most of the time building up my colours by purchasing individual elements through bricklink. This might sound expensive (and perhaps It is!), but at least I have some freedom in choosing elements instead of having too much parts I won't use when I buy a set for only building up colours. For me, I will never invest colours when this comes to mind: 1. There are not much elements available in the colour; 2. The colours are out of production or rather to very expensive to obtain. The old greys come in mind as well some certain sand coloured parts; sand red is an very notoriously element.

[MOC] MIXELS 41527-41529 Alternate MOC
Orange Leader replied to wallacechow2005's topic in LEGO Sci-Fi
That's a very cool 3-combi alternate! The shield made me snicker. -
Cool BT2 starship, Rancorbait. It's good to see the Galaxy Squad wings are used as a windscreen. Wing area looks also cool.

This is a very old vignette that I decided to photograph today. Hopefully there will be coming more photo's of old MOC's of mine soon. Looks like the cyclopses are blocking the path to the temple that's just standing there on the rocky hill to be raid. Will the men of Monster Raiders get past them and prevail???

I don't mind the update and It feels more fresh and in line with LEGO's current minifigs designs. I sincerely hope this will be a hint to a Futuron space theme in the future, although I doubt we will get one. Just dreaming.

[MOC] Old Republic - Crimson Pilgrim
Orange Leader replied to Bob De Quatre's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Very amazing and solid built. Those angles are sick! -
While I thought the same like most people in this topic about this UCS Tie being rather dissapointing, I think in this picture the cockpit to be looking better then in the official press release photo's from TLG. I think It goes well with the UCS X-Wing from last year. I think we have to see this model in real life to form a final conclusion, the UCS Slave 1 also looks magnificent that way then just from the press photo's.

Welcome, Eru. I'm also a Castle and Space fan! -
Thanks for your review. I think that It's a very decent fort and I want to have one later this year. The whole Pirate 2015 theme looks very good anyway.

Very cool bunch. Commander's bike is badass, I like what you did with the bumper dice as freight.

Benefits from building at a standing table?
Orange Leader replied to Orange Leader's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Glad It was a poly bag then. And sorry for not interpreting advice correctly, I was standing though. I will try to build something small on a real kitchen counter next time. -
