Benefits from building at a standing table?
Orange Leader replied to Orange Leader's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Thanks everyone for the insightful comments! I have tried building a poly bag model at kitch table height, and my back and shoulders didn't like It at all. So for now no standing table for me. At the moment I do a lot of routine standing and walking when sitting behind a desk, so It's manageble. Different routines for your body is the key I suppose. -
Lego Mini Catalog 1996 / 1997 - A Nostalgia Trip
Orange Leader replied to Vorkosigan's topic in General LEGO Discussion
I loved the Aquazone, Western and Divers theme back then. Exploriens was 'okay', I only got the mini station; 6899. About 8 years ago, I bought some Aquaraiders set since they never came out in Europe. I was really dissapointed what they did with Fright Knights dispite the darker castle theme; too bulky <insert that tiresome argument>. Pirates was dissapointing as well, but I loved the volcano: 6248. Such a nice and chaotic play feature. -
The LotR Corsair Ship from a few months ago. I still want to built It, dispite lacking space to display at the moment.

LEGO Star Wars 2015 Pictures and Rumors
Orange Leader replied to Erdbeereis's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Shuttle Tyderium is a must have, If I didn't had the UCS one. Final Duel, I have to see the 'final' version to have an opinion about It. -
I'm thinking of getting a standing table for building LEGO. Fact is, I spent most of the time sitting. So in my free time , I want to sit as little as possible. I have some back and shoulder ache at the moment, so It's also a decision about my health. My question to AFOLS that built while standing: What are your experiences and benefits (and drawbacks)?

Hello Vanillaxx, welcome to Eurobricks! For starter: check bricklink.com for buying loose parts but also sets from private persons.

I ordered the 79008 Pirate Ship Ambush, after some considiration. I have to pick It up today at my local specialised LEGO store. It's my first big ship since the 6271 Imperial Flagship back in 1994.

MOC: Groothoofdspoort (Groothoofd City Gate)
Orange Leader replied to pj_bosman's topic in LEGO Town
I saw your MOC of Groothoodspoort a little while ago on your Flickr, but haven't commented on It. The reference in combination of how you build It is great and I'm sure these pictures just don't do this impressive MOC any justice as in real life. -
6103 or 6105? Which do you prefer?
Orange Leader replied to Lauriator89's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
For me It's obvious: 6103 because of the variety between three factions and you can at least army built decently. The farmer is a nice touch as well, medieval times didn't exsist only on knights and thieves afterall. -
The smaller sets offer a lot of useful parts and minifigs and I'll get those. Not sure about the pirate ship, but maybe It's a good starting point If you don't have (like me) a big LEGO ship to start a decent MOC with.

Do you have a favorite brick color?
Orange Leader replied to talos's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Solid colours: Medium Dark Flesh, Bright Light Orange, Dark Tan. Transparent colours: Red, Orange, Neon Green. I still need to invest some more into BLO elements though. -
This is great, I like the realistic details the most: a sharp pointed fence and a vegetated messy roof.

I also have both flagship sets, except the mobile rocket carrier on the right. Great times, enjoy!

That new windscreen... -
Not today, but about a week ago these The Hobbit sets: Mirkwood Spider Escape and Don Guldur Ambush. Found them for 19,95 EURO which I think It should be as priced since they came out.

Splashpages are the way to go, but keep in mind shipping costs keep changing all the time. Sometimes a seller has an outdated splashpage and might forget to update current shipping costs. Always ask If you're not sure. Also be careful with elements that are in some way bigger then 3 centimeters, doesn't fit through the mail box. At least in Europe. Big Panels and Windscreens for example are most of the time packaged instead sent in an envelope, making the shipping costs rise! I feel bad for you. Don't you get negative feedback or doesn't that happen when you block a seller (also didn't know you could do that though)?

LEGO Ultra Agents 2014
Orange Leader replied to just2good's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
I'm looking forward to buy Toxica's Toxic Meltdown. The copter looks great, the nuclear lab seems like a very nice playset and the parts look great for the kind of MOCs I'd like to build. Gotta love those trans neon green windscreens and tiles! -

I saw some while ago a video from a LEGO exhibition featuring your MOC. The lightning effect was astounishing to see! I want to look into lifelites now! Digging the whole thing here; awesome cockpit and missle launcher.

Good use of the quarter windscreens in transparant green and your own choice of colours for BTII. The whole ship looks 10 times more menacing then the original.
