  1. I did... Until now...
  2. Did you not read my post at all when replying to me? "To all those 'if you don't like it then leave' people, Eurobricks staff ASKED for our opinions so gtfo your high horses, we are offering our ASKED FOR opinions." Do you own a car at all? Or a house? Did you ignore its exterior completely when choosing which car/house to buy? Despite the fact the exterior has practically no use whatsoever when actually using it. No, the homepage doesn't make a difference to the content, however, despite the fact that: A more 'American point of view'? I think that changes the discussions (if they are at all serious with that ridiculous quote??! nationality of point of view shouldn't make any difference), and the fact that I don't want to be met with such a garish front page when finding out the latest gossip/info. Why shouldn't everything be changed over to become Chinese, seeing as they have the largest population in the world? Lets just rename the world Chinatopia, get rid of everyone's government (except China) and use Chinatopia's way of life, because, you know... Theres more Chinese people in ratio to any other....
  3. Couldn't agree more. It now looks cheap and tacky, like one of those side shops that try to sell everything going with a *I love (insert random national flag/country)* on it for tourism that you wouldn't normally be seen dead buying unless its just to appease those not on the holiday with you that would like some sort of memento for the holiday that they never went on. To all those 'if you don't like it then leave' people, Eurobricks staff ASKED for our opinions so gtfo your high horses, we are offering our ASKED FOR opinions. So what if the user base is now 4:1 USA/Everyone else people? Why should that dictate it should now become Americanised? That is NOT democracy, that is dictatorship, for all you 'that's democracy for ya!' people, try learning something. None of the people were asked in a vote, it was just done. Congratulations on making a decent site look tacky and in your face. If that's the case, then there was no reason to change it in the first place.
  4. In a sense, yes and no... If the group is a minority group of a few... If the group is millions of people (which to be honest, I seriously doubt this case is, it's just nowadays, anything offensive can be over exaggerated to become largely publicised for something so indiscriminately pointless and minuscule...) The answer requires such a deep answer though, and it'll start getting too political etc... Although I would say I don't think this is the place for such a discussion... It is relevant to Lego as it is now affecting what can and can't be released in the future... so.. Is this subject Ok to discuss? And where is the line at which it should not be discussed?.
  5. Totally. Although I think TLG have played it very well, coincidentally saying it is stopping to appease the Muslims while making it stop when it was going to stop anyways, I do still feel an ounce of bitter feeling that they rolled over to show a sign of backing down of sorts when there is NO justification whatsoever for it... Again, I seriously do hope this is some joke...
  6. In Euroland it is still April the first...
  7. Awww.... yeah... of course! And I fell for it :(
  8. I fell for it, til I saw someones post mentioning April fools... I was about to be very angry!
  9. I hear people mention about star wars eu, is this a series, or books or what is it?
  10. What is baffling about getting a set which has not been done at all yet compared to getting a remake of something that has been done and is available through various means? TLG cant win either way... People complain of getting remakes and people complain of getting something new... What are they supposed to do?! I for one currently prefer the idea of an ewok village over cloud city stuff. But thats just me.
  11. I have both! Well, I have the 10212 shuttle and Im collecting the pieces for the UCS y-wing, but I also have a lot of the 'minifig scale' vehicles such as the at-te, republic gunship, tie fighters etc. When I have a place of my own, ill probably display ucs seperate to the system stuff. I see no reason why not to collect both, afterall, if you like it, why not get it regardless of nametag?
  12. The older death star was also not a playset, I was referring to playsets, as the Ewok village will be, hence, the 10188 not a UCS as Lobot pointed out
  13. I don't believe it is a UCS, it will just probably be a big playset, similar to what Cloud City was, or what the Death Star was... Neither were UCS, just great big playsets.
  14. Have you tried finding out the set numbers, then inputting them into the 'building instructions' section on the Lego Website?
  15. When it comes to things I just can't make my mind up on as I'd equally like both... I'd flip a coin. Seriously, that's how I'd do it. I quite like the thought of both... However, throwing logic into the equation, UCS R2 has been out for almost a year... so would probably get discontinued first, so Id get that one first meaning I have longer to save for the 'UCS' X-Wing.
  16. Perhaps they could do a fuzzy blue hologram version
  17. Ahh lovely, thank you! California would be a bit too expensive for me at the moment. Perhaps in the future when I'm off my apprentice wage :P Billund it is =D Can anyone recommend a decent hotel to stay at that is relatively cheap and close by it? Perhaps within a short taxi distance or 30 minute walking distance?
  18. I am hugely impressed with this! What a masterpiece! It really gives a sense of the epicness that that scene was!
  19. Oh, nope, not yet. I live just south of England and so the whole 'England thing' is probably as impressive to me as Billund is to you... Which would be better? Windsor Lego park or Denmark Lego park?
  20. I went to my first Lego event back in October. I had my nerves about me, but I had joined a LUG and that helps drastically. I must say I thoroughly enjoyed my time there! My girlfriend even had a really good time there too. We went for 2 days. I only had one Star Wars moc of a UCS sized AT-AT, but even just my one moc was really well received by the public. Of course I was worried about little fingers but that soon went away as there were an aweful lot of people around and everyone seemed to be very well behaved there. It was interesting watching the little fingers start getting inquisitive and you could see the parents watching them then soon as they got to a point, they'd be straight on their kid pulling them away! It was very interesting for me personally because I had only just finished the moc, it was my first ever real moc and I loved peoples comments on it, good or bad, it just made me feel like I had achieved something. Whereas I wouldn't get that feeling if it just sat at my house all day. Join a LUG, get to know other exhibitors going, and buddy up with someone if you can. It relieves stress quite a lot as you don't feel so alone. Long story short: Don't hold back!
  21. Me and my lovely girlfriend are planning on going to Legoland Denmark. I've been reading the reviews and everything seems good there. Just one thing I can't make my mind up on... Ideally, is 1 day realisticly enough or does it need 2 days? We are in our mid 20's but both enjoy Lego. Also, any tips for going there? I did search this website for possible answers but I couldn't find any. Sorry if there is and I've missed them. Thanks in advance :)
  22. Oh, I'm not sure I will be making it connectable to the sides with other modulars, I'll keep the side porch as it is a nice feature. The chimney is getting moved round the back in the middle of the extension. Not quite sure what else Ill do but I aim to make it twice as wide. I also hope to try adding a basement of which Ill have the house raised 2 'brick' bricks high above ground with about 4 bricks high below ground... (yeah, scenery around it too) I'll just go with the flow =D Any ideas anyone can think, I'll give it a go!
  23. I wonder if Faefrost meant to say to tile the entire floor and add in just a couple of the wood grain tiles for the effect, and you have possibly interpreted what he said as put a few tiles on with a few wooden grain tiles? Either way though, I love this thread! Never thought about putting the skeleton in the closet! (going to do that to mine now, love the idea ) I have just received my second haunted house. I loved the first one soooo much, I was wondering if it would be possible to get a second and make the first one wider adding more rooms (it needs a bathroom, they cant all go toilet in the kitchen sink!). Has anyone else attempted this? I shall be starting my extension this weekend, with the possibility of removing the ability to 'open' it with hinge bricks and turning it into modular floors. What are peoples thoughts on changing its opening capabilities to the 'normal' way compared to hinge bricks?
  24. is it really only dkk100? (£11.50ish)?! or did you mean USD?
