  1. Releasing a UCS that has been done? Hmm... this proves my point on the definition of what UCS actually means-in definition, rather than peoples random interpretations in or out of context regardless of what the majority 'think' it means due to precedence. Ultimate doesn't have to mean 'final'.... However can be interpreted as 'the greatest extreme/maximum/of the greatest possible size/utmost/extreme, which isn't sooo final/end/last Collector also doesn't mean limited. It means it is something which someone collects, *regardless of rarity*. *limited edition* dictates rarity. So, Im quite interested in seeing this new UCS-Xwing and what TLG have done to improve it. Any ideas when pics may surface of it?
  2. Use a pin vice drill, and a size drill bit that fits snugly in a hole that is in a helmet with the holes pre-drilled. http://www.wonderlandmodels.com/products/modelcraft-pin-vice-drill-bits/
  3. this seems much more realistic, and puts a rough piece count/size to it. If this more realistic suggestion is closer to home, i look very much forward to seeing what its like
  4. im all for them doing the current style of battle packs... but only if as mentioned above, they can fill out the sets with some clones, of which they appear to be hugely failing at. It seems like it is going to soon become a thing of the past to be able to army build at all unless you can afford multiples of expensive sets... or possibly high future BL prices...
  5. Jek 14s stealth fighter looks vety much like an e-wing. Ive been after one of those for ages so even though ive no clue who he is, ill be gettin that!
  6. Eating a prosthetic make up pig person isnt much different than light effects being added to acting children falling over and going to sleep...
  7. Thats ok, perhaps I misunderstood the intention of your statement, after reading the above, it seems your original statement was rather vague but the above has cleared it up. I also agree with you. They are no less affordable than they have been previously (except the extra £2, but still within a reasonable cheap price), they still contain 4 figs, just I guess they have gone more towards giving you what the name of the pack suggests, a battle... in a pack... not an army pack... As nice as they were, there are too many for's and against's to come to a decisive conclusion, however it appears TLG are content for the time being the path they have chosen. I am happy they are still cheap and affordable, as I can buy one bP and move on to th enext thing in my budget list rather than needing to buy 2 seperate ones. But thats just me and my circumstances, there are many other people in different circumstances.
  8. You are completely incorrect in that statement, and the ignorance in it is actually quite offending. It is about budgeting for sets for a lot of people/parents/adults. As it is at the moment, I am an apprentice and so on a very tight budget. However there are a lot of sets I would like to get, as well as build a decent amount of clones/sith troopers up. I may budget in getting the Republic Gunship, AT-TE, and 1 of everything else, but real life dictates that my bike breaks down, and I have other bills to pay in which I can never truly justify spending more to get multiples of a battle pack I already have just to satisfy an army building nature. Just because I might not be able to afford 2 battle packs, does NOT mean I havn't already got other lego sets planned/money set aside for. I have a motorbike to keep insured/mot'ed, a car to save up for within 6 months and insure or I lose 8 years no claims bonus which is too much to lose. I have a phone bill to pay for (and its not over the top). I have rent to pay for, I have petrol allowance to pay for. I have also to pay off credit card, and to save money towards a deposit for my own house. Currently on an apprentice wage, this is an awful lot. But t doesn't mean I can not manage to scrimp and save to get at least 1 of each sets I like. Can I definitely afford more than 2 battle packs? Probably. Is it realistic of me to splash out on lots of battle packs because they are relatively cheap? No because there is an awful lot that could go wrong in my life (quite often it does, my motorbike got stolen and i managed to recover it, but had to pay costs to fix certain parts) that I need to keep spare money for. Please think a bit more in-depth before making such a daft comment...
  9. 75001 is a pretty damned good battlepack in itself. It shows that I think TLG may be testing waters as to what type of battle pack might sell better, or... they are simply trying to cater for army builders while also giving a battle in a pack... Ive got one of these so far... and even though the 2 sith troopers are different, they can very easily represent 2 different battalions or w/e (I forget the word :P) and so army building can commence, with getting 2 of the same clones, and 2 very nicely detailed sith troopers. Im hoping to get at least 6 more of these (money is often tight so I gotta plan well )
  10. Absolutely love this! Id never seen the ship before, but seeing the source material, it looks very authentic and true to source used. At some point, I now hope to make this! Really good job well done! After looking at the center fin connection, it looks like it would be stable/solid enough to me.
  11. Agreed. Swamp speeder set seemed well over priced... I was just lucky my mother bought it randomly for me, or Id have passed up on it. If you really want Barriss, just bricklink/ebay her...
  12. Totally agreed! When I bought mine (also for £60 which I think is price just right) I also was 27... and was found to be swooshing :P
  13. Totally works. I missed out on getting even one of these when they were in production and am not sure about getting one for aftermarket price... I have often thought about combining multiples to make bigger of the same, and this, I'd say was done very successfully!
  14. I previously mentioned that I had phoned TRU and was told the Winter wave would be in stock around Feb time... As I also guessed, it appears it is now in TRU (UK) earlier than told, as I have just got my first Sith troopers v Clones BP from them (Portsmouth store). They also had everything else from the Winter wave there too, however at no reduced prices.
  15. It is more likely that the price is wrong... yet it IS Grogall... he is an epitome of knowledge! With regards to previous X-Wing, some people are still not getting it... INFLATION!!! $99 or even $129 will NOT get a UCS X-Wing of previous size. Size of UCS B-Wing: 1487 pieces 0 Minifigs Price: $199/ £169 Size of previous UCS X-Wing 13 YEARS AGO: 1300 pieces Price: $150 Size of UCS Y-Wing: 1473 Astromech droid minifig Price ( 9 years ago): $120 / £109 Y-Wing is best to compare current prices, to the B-Wing. Very similar piece count, but look at the price jump. $80 dollars/£60 jump. So like I said, unless there is a big mistake with the price of $99, how on earth can you expect something of a previous sized X-Wing of around 1300 pieces for between $99-$130?!?!
  16. OK baring in mind the price of the previous X-Wing... and now bare in mind the price of the UCS B-Wing, and look at THAT price, the price of today. How on earth can anyone expect it to be a UCS X-Wing? Grogall only stated its 10xxx number, and 'Red Leader X-wing'. $99 is just faaaarrr too cheap for todays prices to expect anythign of an updated same size UCS version. I would NOT expect in ANY way that it is anything similar in size to the previous UCS X-Wing purely based on that alone. I can only expect that it could be perhaps some sort of either mid sized X-Wing between a system set and the old UCS X-Wing, or perhaps an X-Wing of system set size, with a pretty decent 'hangar base' around it. Forgot to mention... just look at the 'UCS Naboo N-1'...
  17. Wow! Absolutely love the way he has completed the MF interior, it just look so much more complete, but done to a high standard! It also was a bug of mine that TLG seemed to have left it half finished... Shame he hasnt been online for a while, hope he is OK. That parts list would be most excellent and widely received!
  18. not necessarily... 10188 Death Star playset isnt technically classed as a UCS, however I think we need to mob Grogall for more information! That bit of info is such a tease :-pps. Thank you very much Smokebelch, very good to know!
  19. Pictures are already in this thread a few pages back, via means of a link. Also a picture is also linked in this very same page, it does help if you do a bit of self reading rather than expect everyone to do the foot work for you. @Cyberbricker If you checked his original post (previous page I think), you'll see (very clearly as he kind of 'internet shouted' in caps) that he asked when will they be released in the UK. I know you are only trying to help though but you just missed his previous post which does state the location he wanted. I too would like to know. I phoned up Toys R Us (in the UK) and they said they had just got fresh deliveries of current stuff trickling in, and that the new winter wave won't be on shelves until beginning of February, but personally, I would phone them mid January and onwards as they do get them in earlier than they think they will get them. As for other stores, I don't really know....
  20. Never even got to see the MF clocks on the UK site
  21. Anyone know how long the Haunted House will be out for?
  22. Thats because there has been loads of them in sets previously. And if they are focusing on Ep2, then they don't really need to be releasing stormtroopers just yet... As it is, there is still the option to get hold of one as per the Endor BP, even though it is just 1...
  23. Again, that is the exact thing I was looking for! Excellent, thanks!
  24. Most excellent wedge! that is the exact thing I was looking for with regards to the layout! I have an image of the cockpit area, and the intercom room , I also have an image of the right side of the Holoterminal, and can now corellate where exactly they sit in situation to the interior of the ship, but a video footage, or pictures of each side/walls of every other room would be extremely useful if possible
