  1. Maybe they were going to, and aiming for 2020 but given random circumstances, it didn't happen (perhaps stability issues with the ucs version delayed it, maybe covid production issues, maybe mandalorian had priority, who knows ), it does seem a bit of a coincidence just one year after, they're doing a Hoth themed wave.
  2. Normally I don't find myself wanting to get a slightly updated Snowspeeder... But I'm actually wanting them to release one as it'd be a perfect hoth wave, and... I'd hope they'd put effort into making a new canopy mould to do it justice and make it worthwhile to get one. The half at-st set 75201 kinda points otherwise They are technically the same 'type' of vehicle, but as classic spaceman shows, there are specific differences, namely the head is stubbier (shorter in height?) and the legs a lot taller. I'd wondered if the head was just the same size and longer legs made it look smaller, but no, definitely different enough to warrant it's own design... One would hope the designer would have noticed these differences too! I guess this also means potentially... A tauntaun incoming? It was me, literally an off the cuff comment with distant hopes, but never would have imagined they'd do it, and I'm glad they appear to be doing so(just the Snowspeeder left!). They want this ucs atat to sell, give it everything periphery wise it needs to increase those sales. Then they can lay to rest ESB for plenty of time and focus on other stuff for years. Perfect representations of the differences
  3. They're about to make me reeeeeally happy Also, $60 doesn't seem too bad to me for an atst... I'm guessing there could be similar black stand stuff for it kinda thing which might eat up some piece count so perhaps the price isn't exclusively reflective of the vehicle itself? Either way, am looking forward to see if they actually get the hoth version features correct... Smaller head, longer legs etc...
  4. I'll have to disagree with you there, simply for the fact it fits in 100% perfectly with the ucs atat as a complimentary display piece, literally what the helmets are for. This may in fact be the first of the helmets that I actually get. They don't usually interest me but are still typically well designed sets.
  5. Innovative within the realms of TLG style sets. Show me another set like it, that they have released. Again, the Mario style sets are innovative within the realms of TLG and their range of products. The digital aspect along with physical 'boardgame style' of play is definitely innovative for them. I'm certainly not saying you're wrong, but show me a digital supplement of mousetrap (well, not mousetrap itself, but as an example) . While I'm not clued up on what games are out there nowadays, I genuinely have no idea about anything similar existing, especially involving Mario. I can't speak on your second paragraph, all I have is hearsay and what I've seen people say (a mix of both--doing well, and gathering dust) so I also wonder, but, I've seen a lot of positiveness surrounding these sets about kids enjoying it. Nothing will stop me wishing for minifigure sets though, that's where my hearts at with this nintendo licence.
  6. That's awesome! Can't even tell! Extremely well pulled off
  7. Haha that is awesome!! I've seen the video and yet still somehow can't quite believe what I'm seeing... An rc technic bike! Can you choose what way it steers? I'm guessing you slow it down to make it start turning as the balance goes, and keep the power on to go in a straight line? If you can choose what way it steers, how? I see nothing that clarifies how. Very well done on making such a cool rc bike at such a small size, successfully!
  8. There'll be no issue for me to choose one or the other. I'll be getting both for sure. I only need one kidney Well, I think it'll be one of 2 choices. A flat bottom with no stand, which means slightly less pieces required to make the actual ship so more to create details and potential interior (doubtful) or, a stand and full rounded hull (I'm expecting this choice given it'll be aimed to be a display piece) which likely means probably around 11k pieces in the ship itself. That's *if* it really is 12k pieces. My concern is, looking at the coliseum for reference, it's all small pieces. World map is cheap considering the amount of pieces, but it's more or less all 1x1s. So, is this made out of a bucket load of 1x2/1x4 bricks with staggered hull recessing for the curvature? At that amount of pieces, it'd be around 1.1 metre long. No way it'll be less than 1m. (well, possibly, but by a smidgeon). Either way, I'm massively excited to see what they're going to do with it.
  9. I believe falconfan is on it. I've said essentially the same thing before, and I think the same now. They got a Nintendo licence. Minifig stuff is easy guaranteed money and essentially the top of the game. They could take that safe route, or, go innovative and try different routes which are more in keeping with what TLG are trying to accomplish at this very point in time. Trying to reach out to non lego fans and bring them into the fold/addiction. Nintendo are synonymous with being digital games focused, and TLG have been trying to break into the digital interactive market for some time now, albeit with minimal/no real success (AR stuff, various online games/dimensions etc.). They've finally done it with the current Mario stuff, so they're going to push that for all its worth and get what they can out of it. The '?' Block? A new path of innovation in reaching out to non lego but Nintendo fans. With what they're going for, I think the set hits the nail on the head. I'm happy for everyone that likes this and wants/gets it. For me, the nostalgia in the printed tiles being awesome just isn't quite enough to satiate my desires for Nintendo stuff. Someone a few posts back has already literally listed anything I'd be happy with as there is soooo much minifigure potential (mariokart/zelda etc)
  10. I'm going to make a comparison which is quite fitting here, for how far you're going with this. You are correct that TLG isn't a mom and pop shop but a multi million/billion dollar company where mistakes like that shouldn't happen. Guess what? So is Boeing. And they're even more highly regulated than TLG. And guess what? Through all their checks and procedures and tests and verifications, every now and then, mistakes still slip through. And cost people's lives. So when a company who literally can make mistakes which cost people their lives, can still make mistakes-in this day and age... It puts it into perspective the demand you're putting on TLG for their mistakes they make and how they 'shouldn't be making them'. Literally the only justifiable mistake that deserves to be finger pointed at, is the assumption the designer made about the Clone pilot/commander.
  11. I want to like it, I really do. All the little tile prints are neat, especially the puzzle tile, among many others. The folding mechanism is a neat function. But... I just can't. Those brick built mario/peach microfigs are just.... Wtf.. At least it appears they did the research into what represents each level very well. The levels themselves are neat little representations. I think what I'm feeling, is, by itself, its a good display set. But nothing will compare to getting something minifigure scale with minifigs. So if its not that, my view/opinion is skewed towards being more resentful of it because they're skirting around minifigs with everything else...
  12. Waiting for a video to be made of someone uppercutting this lego ? block into pieces like Mario does in the game. Best possible use of this set
  13. If I remember rightly, the canopy was slightly mismoulded, or at least, had issues of warping, to which point caused it to not be able to shut properly. Imagine not clicking it shut, but just pushing the end of it to the top of the studs it's meant to close onto... It was that. But I think it was caused by the ***vertical edges of the rear of the sides being too far back*** preventing it remaining closed. *edit* Caused by the hinge piece being moulded at an upward angle @Kdapt-Preacher got it precisely correct
  14. Do you have to keep quiet about when the reveal is? Will your review be on the reveal day?
  15. Ohhh... You got my hopes up!
  16. We are lego fans. It's what we all do best! I am very much intrigued and kinda excited too. Although, I'm guessing the brick built figs will just be two or three 1x1 round plates stacked, peach being pink and brown, Mario being red and black (and red? I dunno) which doesn't excite me... Also @PGBQW what makes you say minifigure?
  17. Regarding the Mario keychain and those in the uk, initially the uk wasn't on the list of available countries to claim it for 400 platinum points. That appears to have changed now, as I've just managed to order mine (400 points plus £1.99 shipping-worth it in my opinion). Also, thanks @BrickBob Studpants I didn't know the coins were for sale on bricklink! Are the coins silver and gold plated or just coloured like that? Are they actual metal? *edit* just found a pair on ebay for £35 Inc postage, seems by far the cheapest so hoping they're legit! Seller has good feedback too (doesn't appear random fake feedback).
  18. Firstly, I'm not your 'bro'... Secondly, I'm guessing you're either a kid, or used to reddit-given your mannerism of text here. This isn't reddit, nor are kids meant to be here. Sort it out one way or the other. Thirdly, ucs Slave 1 has a level of interior, given you can slide the carbonite freezing block in-its interior... UCS millennium falcon has an interior. The ATAT is a transport, it may very well have a partial interior similar to that of the ucs millennium falcon. People also said there's noooo way the ucs Republic gunship would *not* have a pilot because there's just no precedence, while I was positive that's not a guarantee, and that I believed there would be no pilot as there was no solid reason for one to *have* to be in the set. Guess what. TLG broke the mould and didn't include a pilot. TLG can and do, do what they want. So you can take your smarmy 'laughing irl at you' and stick it. And go back to reddit, or tiktok. Or where ever children hang out these days
  19. That would certainly be a welcome touch. I'm hoping I'm wrong about the possible 'photoshopping them out' thing, that translation certainly adds weight to me being wrong! I'm huuuuuugely looking forward to the hoth BP and ucs atat more and more. Even better the atat comes out a day before my birthday it may well just warrant a trip to the lego store for a day 2 purchase! (well, perhaps a day 1 and not open before day 2...)
  20. *any* type, as you said yourself. They're giving us one that fits in that category. They're also timing it well with the ucs atat. It's an absolutely perfect compliment. If that has an interior, guess what... It'll spur people on to buy multiples to fill it up. Would take 14 packs to fill it properly if they have the correct amount of seats. They also don't do battle packs determined by rarity of troopers, but by what sells. ESB is by far, an extremely popular film, and an easy cash cow. Tie that in with the ucs atat, it'd be a daft decision not to. We don't know what the other one will be (assuming we get one) so let's not be toooooo hasty to judge them for giving us something that for some people, isn't of any use. They've made a smart business move. That is what TLG is doing. Makes me wonder, that the ucs atat isn't simply a one vehicle wonder, as in, its involved with a fair few other vehicles that compliment it, and thus to help entice sales, for them to do an ESB hoth wave...? So, we now know (rumoured) there to be a snow trooper battle pack. If they release a snow speeder too? And on top of that, the hoth variant ATST... Well... Right there you got yourself the means to buy a full sized official TLG provided Hoth battle scene. I'm waiting to see who the first person is that buys 3 ucs atat's and packs a diorama with a bucket load of new snow trooper battle packs and modifies one atat to be taken down by a snow speeder. Its just got to happen....
  21. Ooohh yeah I see! My mistake there...
  22. I'd hold off on the whole 'stands for figs' thing. Previously in a leaked preliminary pic, (back in 2016 according to Brikky-how on earth he remember a date for something like that!) the stands used to prop up the minifigs in the TLG's online Web sales page (or was it box art imagery, I forget) that usually get photos hopped out, weren't photoshopped out at that point in time and many people believed they were stands being included, but turned out, they weren't, and the preliminary pic was just that-with more editing work yet to be done. So, these may very well be the stands that is being assumed to be included. Which, may have yet to be edited out of the pic whoever it was, saw. Also, nothing is mentioned about there being three cannon builds, but a single e-Web blaster. But even at that, it certainly does sound a solid set.
  23. This would be perfect to go with the ucs atat - absolute impeccable timing for once, and a very welcome set. I'm concerned though, will there be loads of complaints how the printing is different to previous versions or will people welcome with open arms... I already have a minifig scale atat filled with the original snow troopers so I might actually swap out with these new ones if they look good. Also, I wonder if these minifigures stands are what appeared in an image before, but were meant to be photoshopped out, and these ones are from a preliminary image where they too haven't been shopped out yet
  24. I'm actually kinda hoping there was a misunderstanding and we're not getting a microscale peach castle after all... And we get something else-just not microscale. Sure, MS Peach Castle would be nice, but... Damn, hurry up with minifig stuff already! I'm going to be open and entirely honest here. My envy level just shot through the roof. That's such a nice picture of some reeeeeaaaalllly nice items there. You should totally get them put inside a small display case as a group. Congrats!
  25. Apparantly, its not redeemable in my registered country / region (UK)... That sucks... *edit Available countries: Austria, Belgium, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Spain, Finland, France, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Latvia, the Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Sweden, Switzerland, Slovenia, Slovakia
