  1. You, sir, are on. I really like these as well, but I don't really want the wigs for the Revolutionary soldier, I will switch them out for something else. Romans, yes please. I will also grab a Tomahawk warrior to add to my Indian village. My son will really like the Medusa as well to add to his clan of "baddies".
  2. Did you find them at Shopko? The only ones I ever found were at TRU, and it's way to far to go try to find a knight.
  3. Interesting that they are still showing up in mailboxes. I guess I won't give up hope completely yet.
  4. Actually our TRU did carry them, they were free with a certain dollar amount purchase, it's how I got mine. Being free they probably weren't around very long.
  5. Awesome set and definitely a step up from 7191. Definitely looking forward to picking up a couple. Since I missed out on the original, I am happy they are making this set.
  6. 7. Oky - Ultimate Showdown - 1 12. Pedro - Escape from Nar Shaddaa - 2 13. ACPin - Yoda'a Legacy - 2
  7. Has anyone actually tried contacting Lego about these? Surely there is some kind of method to the madness, as it seems that there are small and big spenders getting them. I could personally care less about it, but my son would love it as he puts the keychains on his backpack. I went back and had spent about $3500 from S@H in the last 12 months, so we'll see. I am sure geography plays a big factor on when people are getting them.
  8. Wow, had a hell of a time picking a top 5, I had to pare it down from 11 of my favorites. My votes: 13. Emma - 1 18. Priovit70 - 1 22. sonicstarlight - 1 29. Mrcool1804 - 1 37. Etzel - 1
  9. This is my ultimate want as well, a Death Star style Cloud City. After that, Lego can make whatever Star Wars set they please.
  10. All of the sets look great, can't wait to see something official, like a picture, of Orthanc. Anyway, I got a bit of a laugh seeing the Corsair with a flickfire missile in the picture. Lego just can't help themselves with those.
  11. As an investor/collector/builder, I have all types of Lego at my house. My son is 6 1/2 and loves lego, but he's not allowed to mess with the modulars, yet. He also knows that the storeroom of boxed up Lego is also off limits, though fortunately he's not completely sure of what is in there, if he did, I think I would have a mutiny. We learned this the hard way when I found a couple opened boxes in the basement and we had to have a little heart to heart about what gets built and what doesn't. Anything else that is bagged up by set, or sorted by color in the bins is fair game for him to build with. He will ask me to help him figure out shooting mechanisms and ways to make trap doors and stuff, but he's already getting good and figuring out technic pieces and how they work to make working levers, etc. I love building with him and am sure he will love lego for his entire childhood the way I did. His soon to be 3 year old sister loves his lego too, so she is getting some princes and cakes duplo so that she can have her own. I is really amazing how Lego has become much more mainstream. When I was a kid growing up in the '80/'90s, hardly anybody played with lego. Could have been that I was from a small town in bfe Nebraska too. Now you don't see many kids that aren't in awe of them when they see them.
  12. When/where would a guy find out if there is going to be another mafia school game? I have followed a few and would be interested in getting to know more about them. They appear to be fun, thought provoking games, but I've never done something like it. It appears you need to go through a sort of training to get to the "big leagues". Thanks for any info.
  13. This is what I found with my older '80s sets. I had the original Kings Castle 6080? and could have probably put it back together exactly how it was when I was a kid because the only sides that were faded were those that had been subjected to sunlight since I kept some sets right beneath a window.
  14. Ok, whatever, I didn't realize that adding an "s" to Lego what blasphemy. No harm done I guess.
  15. ??? Maybe I'm illiterate, but I see the word 6 times just on the first page of the article, and obviously it's in the title of the article. smh As a member of the site, it is full of information that is extremely useful for both buying and selling. Ed and Jeff provide all of this at no cost, and spend tons of their own time on the site. Most of the members are people just like me, they may have 1 or 2 of a single set, but certainly not dozens or hundreds, as some of the misguided on here think everybody is. I am looking to make a profit, no bones about it, if that makes me the scum of the earth JARGO, than so be it. But I prefer to think of scum as pedophiles, murderers, and rapists, not someone that has a couple Lego sets in their basement. I'm not looking to retire on it, my Lego collection is less than 5% of my entire portfolio, but it's a lot more fun than getting quarterly statements from my financial advisor.
  16. Personally like the new cinema very much. Not sure about the negativity towards the set fitting in with the other buildings, none of them fit together architectually like Grogall pointed out. I will be very excited to pick up a couple of these when they are released.
  17. Thanks for the new scan, definitely going to be picking up some Cavalry sets to make a small army. Not super hyped about the movie, but the sets are nice.
  18. I was able to find the polybags at the TRU on N. 27th(Lincoln), but they said they wouldn't stock sets until the November 27th. I'm not in the market for the sets yet, but was happy to see the polybags, and they had 20-25 of them, picked up 3 for now.
  19. KDM - Thanks for the research. While I voted that there is too much CW sets currently, I fully understand why Lego distributes the themes the way they do now. Clone Wars is what is current, and it is what is buttering the Lucas/Lego bread right now. Lego's prime demographic is for the kids that are watching this show, and are going to recognize the people/ships/cannons that are represented in the show. As long as they keep up with the UCS theme at the same rate, I will be ok, that is what I am most interested in, and if my son likes something, those get picked up for birthdays/Christmas also.
  20. Sealed Imperial Flagship came in the mail yesterday, really going to have a hard time not opening it.
  21. Walmart is having a heck of a sale right now, picked up R2-D2 for $150 and a Death Star 10188 for $359 from the Star Wars genre. Many good deals going on.
  22. As one that doesn't own the original 7191, I would love another to buy at a much lower price. I completely understand the other side of it thought, too. If I owned one or more new, used, regardless, I would be very upset if the values of them took a drastic hit because their popularity and rarity went down. If it were up to me, I would much rather see UCS scenes, ala Cloud City, than ships. A Mos Eisley, Cloud City remake, Ewok Village, etc. UCS set would trip my trigger much more than another ship, say A-wing that I could care less about, but that is just one man's opinion, and you know what they say about those.
  23. Picked up a sealed Obi Wan's UCS Starfighter from ebay($89) and a few battle packs($10/ea) from S@H.
  24. Thanks for the info, though when it was rumored to be "Lone Ranger", I was hoping for the western that was on re-runs when I was a kid, but that wouldn't have made sense for Lego. Since I completely missed the western lines that came out years ago, I think I would have preferred a non-licensed version of it, but I will take it. Now, like others have said about the movie, if there are cowboys, aliens, mummies, and crap like that, I don't think I'll be interested, just cowboys vs. indians is fine with me.
