Since there still seems to be some disagreement on different sites, is there now no "unidentified figure"? Have we seen all the figs or is there another one out there we haven't seen yet since it's incomplete. I was under the impression on this site that all figs for this set were now accounted for, since Carbonite Han was the 10th figure. Brickipedia is still showing an 11th fig, I have assumed they were wrong, but wanted clarification.

Just finished my Cafe Corner, so now I have all released sets. I am still going to stick with my vote for Grand Emporium. Since CC wasn't my first to steal my modular virginity, it doesn't resonate like I think it does for others. Don't get me wrong, it is probably my #2 or 3, right there with GG, but lack of interior kills it. I will have to find my creative gene and figure out some interior, tiled floor at least. If others have MOC'd the interior of CC, post some pics, it would be appreciated.

The truck stop would have the possibility of being really cool, and don't we need somewhere for all our City Semis to go?

This was a set I was going to get regardless, but now I feel much better about spending the money on it. The updated figures and palace design make me very happy I never put money down for the old one. With a raised baseplate, this would be pretty easily MOC'd into having a rancor pit. This and the Skiff will be my only SW purchases for this year(unless R2 is awesome) so I'm glad they look as good as they do.

I still have my Metro Park and Service Tower from when I was a kid and have never understood how it was never reissued, as it is a great set. Would love to see how it would come about the 2nd time around with newer pieces, though I assume it would be an Octan station this time around and not Shell.

This is the first time I've seen this as i'm relatively new, but this is flat out AMAZING!! I have loved all of ACPin's MOC's, but this takes the cake for me, always look forward to everybody's moc's here, as I am not very creative myself. Well done sir.

The 15 lot limit is if you order over the phone. I ordered about $175 worth of replacement parts for CC with no problems(along with a PAB order too), I just hope all the right parts show up. On the topic of getting VIP points, I asked about it on this particular order, and by playing dumb the guy said he'd make a "one time" exception for me, so you can get the points if you work at it.

Seems like i'm the only person that Lego told they didn't have 1x4 dark blue bricks. Oh well, already bought them on Bricklink. I also BL'd some 1x2x3 panels with supports, but will still try to track some originals down piece by piece to make the set accurate.

Just happened to be on Brickipedia and they had a picture of an Oola minifig, looked pretty good, any idea if it's legit or not? I am working or I would get it posted here.

Just got done with GG, and I think I still like GE the best, for overall aethetic value. I do agree with others that GG's color scheme is great though. Still waiting to finish collecting parts for CC and then we'll see how that stacks up. Though, if it doesn't have a lot of interior design aspects, I'm not sure it will take the cake. I do really like the masonry work on the fire brigade, that was very cool to build.

Yeah, not surprising, when I got mine, they said there were only like 300 left in stock. So that didn't take long, I ordered mine about 5 days ago. That white panel is going to be a pain to find, but I want mine to be 100% correct, i'm not the MOC'ing type. I'm not so sure though that they will keep producing them. Just because they are selling them on S@H, doesn't mean they are still producing them. For the others still working on this project, I hope they do see the demand for the part and make a batch.

I also had the problem with some missing pieces. Had a couple light bley 1x2 plates missing and a couple of the silverish grills missing. Didn't get any grief from Lego about it and am getting the parts, but it sounds like this set had quite a few issues with missing pieces. This is the first new set that I've ever had missing pieces in.

My favorite so far is Grand Emporium, that said, I have Green Grocer coming from Bricklink, and am in the process of collecting parts for Cafe Corner, so that may change over the coming weeks. GE had what I thought the best detail inside and out. I think I like Market Street the least and paid the most for it

I wanted to bump this thread as I'm following suit with you guys and building Cafe Corner from Lego S@H and Bricklink. Lego actually had a lot of the hard to find pieces, including the red roof tiles, but said that only had a couple hundred left, which won't last long when people like me are ordering 36 at once. Between Pick a Brick, and ordering directly from the set on Lego, I am only missing 6 different parts, the only piece that will get pricey is the white 1x2x3 pieces for windows I think, since you need 20 and they are few and far between on Bricklink, especially since I am only buying new. I am in this project about $325 dollars, which is a far cry from the $700 you would have to pay for used.

Thanks for the link. I knew I would get my hand slapped for the question , but I knew I would be steered in the right direction here. Carry on.

This is off topic, but I searched with no luck. Has anybody tried to build any of the retired modulars brick by brick, meaning buying the pieces from pick a brick or bricklink and be able to do it cost effectively? The only modular I don't own is Cafe Corner, and have thought about building it this way as opposed to dropping easily $700 for a used version. I have also thought about doing it with the Market also, since it is a smaller piece count, but haven't gone through the inventory to see if any pieces are from that set only to make them $$$$$. Any help or links would be much appreciated, I can't wait for the City Hall to come out to add to my "street".

Excellent review, that made my day. It is good to see that people here have a sense of humor, as I thought this was incredibly funny. I haven't gotten caught up in the uprise against this, as a product will invariably piss somebody off, but I think Lego has done a good job here. I am not in the market for these, as my daughter is only 2 and is still chewing Legos and tearing heads off, but this was well done by Lego and has several pieces that will be good for building one's own cafe, or house, etc. It is too bad that the figures aren't minifigs for crossover, but obviously the research said to go another way, and money talks.

Been very happy with my minifigs, the printing all around was nice.

What's on the newspaper in the Super Heroes Catwoman set?
LegoDad replied to blackpyre's topic in LEGO Licensed
I guess I never even thought to check out what those pieces said, I assumed it just said "blah blah" over and over again, pretty amazing that could print that small. -
Review: 6857 - The Dynamic Duo Funhouse Escape
LegoDad replied to AlexScammer's topic in LEGO Licensed
Great review. My son and I built this on Christmas Day, and it was an easy, fun build. The characters included are great, and the set has a lot of playability. The structure itself is smaller than I thought it would be, but definitely worth the price. -
[LDD MOCs] Brickdoctor's 2011 Star Wars Advent Calendar
LegoDad replied to Brickdoctor's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Brickdoctor, first of all, these are all nice, even if some of the guys give you crap for the minifigs. Thanks for doing these. 2nd, for a Lego newb when it comes to computer building, what is LDD and what programs open up the files you have attached? I would love to tinker with some of these and build them myself. Thanks. -
It has been on Lego S@H's site since the 15th, and you could preorder before that. Now, it may be sold out, that I don't know, haven't been on the site since I purchased mine. This really sucks, I knew Lego was more in other areas, but didn't realize how much you were getting screwed, no wonder I always get requests to ship to Australia when I sell on ebay:)
-
Wow, that's a rip-off Which is why I went the S@H route. I am still fairly new and hitting up the TRU, normally an ebay shopper, but I was surprised at the markups like everybody has been talking about here.
