  1. 1) town substance! we need houses, bus stops, car dealers, gardeners, road maintenance, farmers, ... small and medium sets would be nice, or just one combo set... i don't really see a need for bridges. we can easily order bulk for bridges thru SAH or BL we also need sets to link train and town, like warehouses... 2) we once proposed "7 wonders of the Ancient World" and "7 wonders of the Modern World"; i'd still be interested in those. I guess that would include taj mahal, Opera House and Empire state building 3) i wouldn't be interested in cars/vehicles because they very often don't resemble the real thing very well, but a classic car series would be nice, sure... 4) Aircraft please!! I can think of several classic airplanes that would easily fit into a "Flyer-Red Baron" series: planes like "Spirit of St Louis", Lindbergh's plane; a DC-3, probably the most universal plane ever; a classic british "Handley-Page"; Nasa's X-15... civil transport planes don't make much sense to me. I'm not really interested in an Ilyushin or whatever... 5) other options: PIRATES; WESTERN themes. they're extremely popular, prices on BL indicate it would be a commercial success... 6) a UCS Castle would be great....
  2. hm... i don't think a chamber bar would be doing any good: 1) it' none of anyone's business to know how many times some one has been in the chamber, except for the admins and the member in question 2) EB is supposed to be a nice website that welcomes people and encourages people to post. Putiing a mark on any member for a past behaviour/mistake does not fit into the image EB wants to send to the general public 3) a bar warning could be considered an additional punishment, after having been "punished" by being in the chamber. that goes against the priciple of punishing people in general. once you've done your time, you get a second chance, you shouldn't be punished a second time by having a bar on your profile saying you've behaved badly, for every one to see... 4) it's not as EB is sending dozens of members to the chamber over and over again. Yes, the chamber has been populated rather often since its creation, but as far as i know, we don't have members who are being send to the chamber on a constant basis. Besides, if your bad behaviour continues, they'll just kick you out, instead of sending you back to the chamber...
  3. my catalog says march
  4. hm... 2 things: 1) there's a member on EB who's closer to lego (or so it seems) than most of us and he said in another topic , forgot which one, that lego is going to go back to the more traditional lego stuff.... 2) it seems the pirate theme has been on 4+ playground, now duplo... i think there is a possibility that yoda's theory is correct, and next year we may get pirates in the MF world ... ok... 3 things... 3) even the lego company must have seen by now that pirate is still EXTREMELY popular. Surely they have some analyst who keeps an eye on ebay and BL Put those three things together and i'd have to conclude that a pirate theme is very well a possibilty... it's that or... Western?
  5. it's a conspiracy, sir! yes it is! they're all in it, you know, ... them...
  6. loooooooooooooool however, it may be moved to "community"? see TT? now that's humour...
  7. yesterday i was writing a post and suddenly my pc bailed out on me. the thing crashed and automatically restarted... i didn't read much into it, it was the very first time i had a system failure whilst running EB... i assumed the pc was getting tired of me, or whatever... just a few minutes ago, it happened again, i was writing a post on EB and BAM ... i don't know if it has anything to do with EB, even tho my computer has been running all day without a problem, same as yesterday... does anybody else have a similar problem? does it have anything to do with EB at all?
  8. yep, you're right! it's not a hammer, it's an axe... i barely looked at them when the lego rep gave them to me, since then they're in a huge bag with useless parts... that explains my mistake...
  9. Thx. Does it cost anything extra? No JoeMI6 and Ickelpete: It would be great if you could meet us there. Unfortunately you will have to buy your own single day tickets as we are getting weekend passes. Jon. do we have to send you any money, jon?
  10. it's a molded piece. i have several black ones from a pab... i think it's from jack stone, because it's too big for a MF, even tho they fit into the hands.
  11. Welkom! Er zijn er natuurlijk altijd wel enkelen zoals Mr. Phes of ras74 die verwoede pogingen zullen ondernemen om alsnog te achterhalen wat je neergepend hebt... however, usually we write things in a language that could be described as "close to English" , but let's face it: grammar doesn't rank very high on our priority list...
  12. looooooooooooool hilarious! they should turn this into an anti-valentine's card!
  13. i guess there's a difference between popular and selling well.... like vikings, batman will be quite popular, but won't be selling great... i think sw will do very well. city will probably do well also, like exo... i just don't see a really smashing hit, this year, like the city theme in 2005...
  14. You do realize that you have to be 13 to even be allowed to register to EB, right? Actually, I don't think you do, there are a bunch of members here younger then thirteen. yes you do
  15. the moc reminds me of those japanese high speed trains. they also look a little bit futuristic, like this one...
  16. According to the description it is: 4. special transport waggon for explosives/ammunition and other HAZMAT 7. train/transport guard waggon 8. track vehicle for air surveillance As for the Crocodiles - yes, they were "cargo locs" and only came in brown and green. thanks! my dad has a green M
  17. saw "usual suspects" last night
  18. hm... i guess this is good news for sw fans, but it basically rules out any space theme... for another 5-6 years... let's just hope it's not an excuse to create yet another x-wing, snowspeeder or slave every two years...
  19. some one else posted a moc like this on BS 2 weeks back or so. it looks good...
  20. i saw the green crockodile on BS and it's brilliant, just like this brown one. to my knoledge, those are the only colors this type of loc comes in, so that's why he's using brown for this moc... these crockodiles used to transport goods over the Gotthard mountain, they didn't transprt passengers, i think... in any case, i don't think it's a military moc ...
  21. very nice! however, i don't like the pink MF heads.
  22. i guess it's logical to assume that lego tried to find licenses close to their former lines. Without sw, we would have seen another sci-fi theme, something created by lego, no doubt. after all, lego knows there are castle fans, town fans, space fans,... they've always tried to satisfy all sections. so it's not very strange to assume that sw would replace space... and space will come back once sw is gone... However, that only works for sw. I mean, HP comes rather close to castle, but castle is still here. Batman and spiderman come close to city, but city is still here. they don't replace city. The question for lego there was most likely: "how can we produce sets for batman and spiderman without having to spend too much on new parts, designs,...?" the answer was simple: "stay close to what's been produced in the past or to what's in production right now, and we can make a buck out of this line..." That wasn't too difficult, because spiderman and batman are both "town based" and both characters actually perform police jobs, so in the end, both licenses were the obvious choice...
  23. actually, it's me and tt you have to thank....
  24. Frankly, don't you think they are running out of SW ideas? They even had to recycle the ISD. How many X wings and Tie fighters and Slave ships and snow speeders can you take. I can't imagine there is a lot more juice to squeeze out of SW. The sandcrawler and sail barge to me seem to be pretty much the last big things. I watched a good number of Spongebob episodes. My impression is that the variety of locales and sets is very limited. I totally cannot imagine what they could do with SB next that would be significantly different than what they have now. All this is my personal opinion - I have no particular inside information or insight into the workings of TLC i don't see batman replacing sw. batman doesn't have many options for sets either and it's most definitely not as popular as sw. i'll assume sw will go on for at least 2006-2007. i guess the problem with sw is they need very good sales to turn it into a great success, so as i said in another topic, they need the classics of sw to pull that off spongebob is also not going to last for several years. things move on pretty fast in the kid's world of toys and tv shows. sponge might be popular right now, but i can think of lots of other shows that were hot for 1-2 years and then simply disappeared from the radar, like ninja turltes, power rangers, bob the builder, pokemon, ... i don't expect avatar to be around for very long for the obvious reasons; it's not well known here in Belgium, it's not really part of the culture... i don't think it's going to "connect". for that, you need the media (tv-shows,...) to popularise the charactars and story... i don't see that happening... it may sell rather well, because of adults buying the sets for parts....
  25. http://www.ldraw.org/ this will lead the way. follow the instructions, download what needs to be downloaded and you'll be ok
