  1. why does'nt TLC produce any minifig sets anymore? I used to build my armies with a couple 6-minifig sets, but that's become impossible these days! sure, the star wars licence obviously doesn't allow it, but why should it be a problem for the Viking theme? knowing how popular minifigs are, a set like that should have good sales... besides, the "underground" theme had a minifig set, so there seems to be a profit in it.
  2. i'm not sure about the fragile aspect of the plates. i never thought the AT AT to be weak and fragile. i guess it's all in the design. and for a 150$ they could surely spend a few more bricks on making a solid construction.
  3. i know i emmediately fell in love with this one. it's huge, it resembles the real thing, many minifigs and droids,... bring it on, i say :oD
  4. technic links would probably make it way too expensive...
  5. tanks '316! it's the "new jawa sandcrawler 2002" if that isn't worth 150 dollars, than I really don't know what is... even though i also think that lego is going to use large plates and wings to pull this one off... don't know 'bout the tracks though... could be just rubber or technic links
  6. there was a brilliantly built sandcrawler in the brickshelf gallery somewhere if it resembles that one, than i'll be buying an entire fleet! well... in my dreams anyway...
  7. now to get back to our topic... i wonder how easy or difficult it is to manoeuvre this 10-wheeled tank. i used to built quite a few 8-wheeled tanks and they were always difficult to manoeuvre efficiently. the wheels in the middle obvouisly use a lego technic-style suspension (isn't that wierd in a minifig set?), but what about the other wheels? the last wheels seem to turn, probably to manoeuvre the thing into a direction, but what about those wheels in the front? and how, as a "player", do you "drive" this thing? i would have prefered rubber wheels instead of plastic, though... Oh well... I'll just use these plastics as "batteries" in my new spaceship...
  8. ah.... we're getting emotional, aren't we...
  9. hehe Apo,... i bought mine a year ago... so... yours should still be there... just telling you this so you'll be able to sleep this night... and dream... about getting a brand new AT TE... |-D
  10. now you're talking about making room... do we have any idea on the size of the death star? for instance a diameter of half the star destroyer?
  11. hehe Apo... I bought the thing in Aachen... ;)
  12. i've just seen a drawing of the "real" turbo tank on "star wars.com"... i'm quite happier with the lego set now. it's simply not a GREAT design... sure... it's not bad... but what is it supposed to do? just driving around in the desert? I can't really see any big gun or a turret, so i'll assume that it's more of an armored transport vehicle, not a tank. one of the pictures of the tank on "legacek" shows the interior of the cockpit.... hm... there's this (yellow?) trooper sitting in there with two pistols in his hand? So... who's doing the driving? and where's the steering wheel or computer to control this thing? I feel that the AT AT was a bit more sophisticated than this tank. however, i will buy it anyway! it's a great resource for all sorts of parts i can use for MOCs! if TLC is going to release this one in Belgium anyway. i never saw one AT TE in any shop in Antwerp! Eventually i bought one in germany.
  13. high folks! thought I'd add my comments on these vikings aswell. at first i was very excited about this theme. a danish company producing vikings! that seems the right thing to do! but now that i've seen these sets.... hm... suppose I were a viking ... for a split second... where can I repair my ship if it's damaged after having been in a fight with the monsters of the deep? there's no repair shop and I also can't find any shipping warf! where is my large town hall where i can drink to the gods, together with my brave warriors?! where are the gods?! you don't expect me to live without Odin and Thor, do you? where's that church i can plunder and those peasants i can assault? hm... and yes... you can clearly see the stickers if you enlarge the eighth picture (out of 21) on the german site. i like the longboat, however it's not really a "long" boat, is it? it's more like a "wide" boat. so if you wanna have a good longboat, you'll need to enlarge the midsection. oh yes... dump that prison too, 'cause, it seems to me that these vikings are not going to take prisonners. ... and in case you're wondering... "snefroe" is the name of my cat....
