  1. Unfortunatly !! Jp got rid of your glorious Tie Army title for some crap music :-| *yoda* and what about you, yoda? you don't have a title, you got an entire book! no... don't tell me, jp again... :-P
  2. well actually, these classic astronauts could easily be all female, cos the helmet hides the actual headgear... so in anyone's weird fantasy, lego could have created classic space as an all female theme, to attract more girls... Nobody realised that for some reason, so all boys bought classic space...Lego is such a misunderstood company... or perhaps... that was the reason why we all bought space... :-P and btw, i really think we should recount the votes before turning hobbes here into our official mayor! i'm sure the other guy won!
  3. City is a theme alive and well :-| *yoda* :-| hobbes is now mayor of which more than 90% of the population is male, consisting of dozens of firestations, policestations and airports... but no houses, no cars, no civilians, no buses,... 'alive and well', you say? 'Alive', barely, if you're asking me, 'well'? not in a million years! X-D
  4. cars? well... you know... this topic used to be about lego... lego divers theme actually... in any other forum , we'd say: get back on topic or the thread will be closed!
  5. i agree
  6. :-X :-X
  7. incorrect. you are forgetting the asians, actually the south koreans. they are probably lurking in some korean language forums which you do not know about. the japanese fans are also numerous. i've seen many "japanesque" names on brickshelf...not sure how many are japanese-wannabes though. :-/ but judging from the sale of sets on ebay to these bidders i gotta say the population is fairly large. also, as i thought about it more, could it be the south korean buyer is actually a foreigner expatriate? usually those have a commanding salary so it is likely he/she has a huge bank account to afford those ridiculous prices. not really sure what i'm incorrect about *wacko* i don't think asians are buying belgian lego on belgian ebay... waaaaaay too expensive to send it up to Japan and you need to understand dutch or french if you want to know what's being offered...
  8. *sweet* really, it was just a question of time... congrats!! such a shame that you're a mod for such a dreadfull theme, though... :-P
  9. hm... a 'high' price seems relative to me. you get lots of insectoids on a regular basis on ebay, including the big ones, they never reach a high price category compared to the Galaxy Explorer or an old space station, but they normally get the niminum price on bl. no MISB, true, but what old space set in MISB do you get these days?... usually, it's a more or less complete space set, including non-originel parts (god i hate that!), an instruction book and the box. if you're lucky the plastic is still inside. Most large space sets with boxes in good condition sell for 100 euro. So it basically comes down to this: if you want a set like that then you'll probably spend about 100-150 euro on one set a month or so... unless you're filthy rich and get everything at the same time on bl... i very often look for large, old town sets on ebay, just for fun... g... these houses get a very high price as well, even though it seems classic 'town' doesn't really have a high profile in the lego community. if you're asking me, there is a fairly large group of adult collectors who don't care about current lines or the internet communities, they just collect lego in all silence... i think those people are pushing up the price
  10. yep, but just for the record, he does not say it actually IS lego, so what you're basically saying is: 'if you're interested in 'lego-look alikes', here's one selling them on ebay.
  11. PS: Where are the real smilies?! no clues... it seems to me that subspace already needs an overhaul at Deep Space Nine :blacksmylielaughing: :'-(
  12. i think you've got a great potential to re-interpret the old sets, i just don't think that the range of parts is good enough right now to get the most out of it
  13. i never said there's anything wrong with pirates, i'm nearly stating that EB runs a serious risk of losing its originel spirit because we're all branching out. As willy said himself: 'so many things on pirates that i don't find the time anymore to actively post any place else on eb'
  14. I know that this pirate community has a life on its own, and I think it's great what it evolved into. But do you really want to seperate it even more? Just a thought - and it's just 8 votes as of now, don't judge too soon ;-) i think we've taken the subforum concept for pirates far enough... yet one more step, like creating a pirate community, and you basically have an entirely new website.... i also think this concept of subforums is completely missing her intended target. the idea was to give each section in lego world a different corner on EB but with a strong emphasis on keeping it all in one large community, so people would not hide in their own corner and forget about the rest. but that is exactly what's going on with pirates i'm afraid...
  15. oh i think i'missing several things in every review i do. you always wanna post 100 pictures and write 1000 lines, but then reality check comes into play and you discover the "delete" button on your pc... you're right, a theme review would probably reveal that Ice planet just was not in the same league as Space Police or Blacktron, but arguably better than UFO... The only reason this theme made the history books is because the minifigs, no doubt... well, as you can see here, i still have to do lots of others, since all the other space members seem to be very lazy these days... :blacksmylielaughing:
  16. well the problem is that lego seems to think that they can only have MF-themes when they're completely messed up by catapults, weird masks or any other element that inspire action; that is why many pirate fans hope they'll never see a new pirate line; why western fans never hope to see a new western theme,... so if lego is using 4888 creator sets as a base, it will only just be that: a base. Let's, btw , also hope we get great looking mf-heads, not the stuff we're getting in exo force anyway, i'm hoping we'll get to see something at the Berlin convention this weekend
  17. i guess we'll get a pack of tan droids of ep1, possibly 2,5 dollars a piece, meaning 4-5 in a pack + some sort of platform with a gun or so... the other pack is probably of the same type: 4-5 figs + a cannon as in the second MF? so... Sam... you think there's any classic space man in there ... somewhere? I don't know... by mistake or so? ... :-P
  18. yeah... maybe an admin should close this thread
  19. Me too, this ship is creative and playable. I once have the ship but lost it, where can I buy this back? on bricklink it's really cheap, actually, only a few dollars
  20. this is actually the only ice planet set i like
  21. oh but you don't have to take this anti-sw craze all too serious... i'm just thinking that as long as sw is around, there will be no new space line, but hey, maybe i'm wrong. if lego is willing to go to the deepsea with aguaraiders, maybe they'll take us to the universe next...
  22. a technical problem prevents me from giving a tag for the
  23. well if this is the guy from the website, then he surely needs a few more extremely rare space men, so i wouldn't call the collection complete...
