Off course !! Especially in the dog fight sessions !! Thats why it has S-Foils (I never seen those types of wings on old grey and bulky spaceships X-D ) ARC stands for Aggressive Reconnaissance starfighter !! The ARC-170 fighter is a bulky, aggressive ship covered with weapons: 2 medium laser cannons, 2 aft laser cannons, 6 proton torpedoes and operated by 3 pilots !! A pilot handling the flight maneuvers, a copilot operating the laser cannons mounted on the ship's wide wings, and a tailgunner operating the dorsal rear-facing cannon. The fighter also carried an astromech droid for onboard repairs. So bring your puny missile launcher on :-P !! *yoda* i don't get it... one guy to pilot the thing, another for the lasers, a third for the cannons... hm... then who's doing the reconnaissance? in the space days, yoda, the astronauts were highly skilled and experienced. they didn't need three men to do a 1 man's job... oh well... they don't make them anymore the way they used to in the old days... :-P

ROFL :-D That Puny Rocket launcher cannot do any harm to an ARC 170 which is way fastest than that rocket and which would destroy it and send it in the oblivion of space :-D *yoda* not with those crappy lego technic wings, mister!! in space, we at least got space ships with decent wings! :-P

that's the idea! First i have to capture one of the skinny boys here, lock 'm up for a while so i can train him to do exactly what i want him to do and then we'll have our own skin. :-P

Well, sometimes not even that helps: Airbus A380. It's way larger and looks better than 10177, but I don't really like it, either... Planes seem really hard to build... from a large distance, that airbus looks quite nice, i think.... but you're right, they should stay away from these designs...

1) i think they could have easily built a better nose: classic plates and bricks would be just fine. Instead, they added a cone to it and that compromises the line of the ship... The problem with these planes is that it has to be quite large, larger than this one, to make it work. Bricks, especially slopes, don't handle curves pretty well. the only way to solve that is to make it larger. 2) yes i'm unhappy with this plane because it's not a good model, it's not a good design. the engines, for instance, look like crap. Sure, i was also unhappy with the minifig planes, but for entirely different reasons: the landing gear and the wings weren't any good. this model has entirely different criteria to be good or bad... So basically, lego produced 2 types of airplanes in 2006 and both were not unforgetable...

Nope, they're only releasing the X-wing and the 10175 UCS TIE Advanced. so when can we expect to see some pics of the ucs tie?

i guess we were all hoping to see the next ucs, the xwing, new sets... in fact , you'd think that lego would take this opportunity to show the world their new sets for 2007 and the rest of 2006... but instead, they show us stuff we already know quite well... not a good marketing strategy if you're asking me

Yeah, depending on your perspective, but X-Wings for LEGO seem to be following the Slave I trend. At first the Slave I was released (7144 IIRC). Years later it was "somewhat" released as the Episode II version with major changes for the redesign. Now it's been rereleased again with seemingly no changes but as builders find out, it has quite a few. Hopefully things will be the same. yep it kinda suggest there's a new sowspeeder and MF in the pipeline as well

hm... we had the xwing plus yoda's hut for 84 and later for 74 euro, so i'm hoping it's 69.99 dollars, and a lot less in euro, 50

well, no, it's not so brilliant... it's not just the fact that fans get upset and don't buy this set, there's also a huge risk they will turn away from lego all together and buy Hasbro products or any other... It puts the relationship between lego and her customers under pressure. at some point people will be getting tired of hearing the same justification for it... They'll feel cheated . they'll back off, and in the end, lego will get a bad image

I don't mind members asking for financial or moral support for a tragedy in the world. we've had several of these before if I remember this correctly, BUT: don't turn this into anything else, like a political forum, don't turn it into a joke eitther...
