  1. g... we're getting new members every day now! *sweet* welcome! hope you have a great time here! *sweet*
  2. well i guess, the argument that Leia only came with that particular set, will be lost, but it always be the most popular sw model, resulting in a high price...
  3. happy birthday! is it just an impression, or do we see you less than before on our boards? X-O
  4. maybe the instructions of soon to be released sets are already in there, as was the case with the christmas train?
  5. wow!! you really have some serious catching up to do... but i guess you first of all have to figure out what you want to do with your stuff. if you feel the urge to start building things of your own, this would be great start to get ideas; the word MOC, means My Own Creation, just in case you're reading that on a regular basis Bricklink is a great source if you decide to limit your lego hobby to collecting, however, it can't hurt to check Ebay, that usually gives better prices than Bricklink... i'd also suggest you go to this website and go thru the catalogs, that way you'll get a pretty good insight on what lego has been producing in the last couple of years...
  6. well it seems to me that the missing part phenomenon only started this year or last year. i never had any complaint up untill january 2006 when i got the exo force uplink... So maybe your "missing part set" is still to come... ;-)
  7. g... that's in Washington, right? Maybe doable for some one who lives in the neighbourhood, but i guess most people here are Europeans. For most it would be too expensive and the others... hm... would they be able to convince "the other half" to spend this year's savings on a lego trip?... hm... don't think so... :-/
  8. hehe thanks... :-$ i wish i had multiple copies of all sets, unfortunately i don't... looking forward to your reviews 8-
  9. i'm guessing here, but: When we were in Windsor for the EB event, we were allowed to go and have a look around in the employee's pick a brick. jon pointed out the transparent parts for me that he found in a box below the shelves. There were all sorts of transparent coloured windscreens, most of them the well known trans orange windows of Ice-planet. In general, there were several pieces in specific colours that were never taken in production for whatever reason. So i guess the guys went down their special pab in Billund, had a look around to see what interesting parts were there, and this particular guy found the box with transparent parts... with the unique, never produced trans-orange dome.
  10. hehe like my little cousin with dinosaurs :-P (can you see the analogy ?? Its just brilliant, both are exctinct :-D ) *yoda* ok yoda, you're coming pretty close to losing that space tag! :-P
  11. Waves of space? That must have been and empty theme! :-D as you will find out one day, classic space has had several waves: sets completely changed in style, colours,... after three - five years, an entire catalogue had changed... but remained legoland space up untill 1990 I was trying to be funny :-| i get very verious when classic space is involved! :-P :-P

  13. hehe... you mean that piece of junk, the crappy red - white droid? Han Solo sent it to me as a present for the opening of the Space Subforum! He got sooooooo megablocking tired of these stormtroopers, and you very well know you can't have a decent discussion with the wookie, and then there's that annoying guy called Luke, always being the hero, and then there's Jabba putting a price on his head,... need i go on? So he was soooooooo glad he finally got a place to discuss some really interesting space stuff with some very interesting and intelligent members... :-P
  14. thought i'd show you guys this is as well it's a contest based on the well known moonbase system the guys over at lugnet - space came up with a while back; the base is essentially a collection of modules, which are quite different from each other , but they're all linked to each other in the same way. since then several others have built their own modules that would fit to moonbase. now it seems the guys at lego decided to create a contest for themselves, but they need your vote! there's also a discussion over at classic space it seems... as a space fan in general, i'd go for the 'command and defence', however, it doesn't look like a real model; i like the fourth model a lot! it's very originel , but probably not the best module for a moonbase... then there's the ice planet module, even though the guys look like ice planet disguised sw pilots! it would be nice for a set, however!!
  15. you're absolutely right! this mod has been lazy... :-P :-$
  16. you mean the moc? can't remember having seen it before... i wish we had some really detailed shots of it, though...
  17. found ths rather big blacktron inspired base on BS
  18. **** whining alert**** let's take this European-American thing just a little bit further shall we? sure, the Maersk boat is a clear reference to the Danish company. after all, it would be very weird if Maersk were to ask the Canadian Megablock to build them a ship... That would even be bad for business! the thing is that all licenses are based on US cuture or because they do well in the US. Spongebob and Avatar are even especially created for the US! What does Europe get in return? we represent 60% of the market so we should have 4 exclusive European based licenses. We have ZERO! None what so ever! Take the general licenses. Batman, Spiderman. Again, cartoons that are part of American culture and we, Europeans, just have to swallow it... Where is Tintin? Where's Ast
  19. this doesn't really look like a promo set though, and i would even be surprised if Boeing were to ask a relatively small toy company on US soil to do this for them. I think it may be a "Ferrari" type of license... maybe we'll be getting other sets as well... let's hope for a B-17 or so... :-) it also reminds me of model kits, however, if they're interested in getting model builders on board, then they'll have to: 1) do a LOT better than this, more like the flyer or the red baron 2) select more popular model planes, like military legends... in this case, i'd think they wouldn't have many problems with the military aspect... i think it's clear that these models are not to play with, not for kids...
  20. why do you americans always think you've got the biggest? :-P if you check the annual reports, you'll see europe takes 58%, US+Canada 29%; Belgium, for instance, buys 2 million lego sets every year, not bad for a population of only 10 million people... in fact, that's one of the reasons that I, as a european, think Lego is leaning too much toward the US market/US culture...
  21. i very often use the 'view new posts' option on our board to see if there are new posts... very often i find that after having used it a second time, i get: 'Sorry, an error occurred. If you are unsure on how to use a feature, or don't know why you got this error message, try looking through the help files for more information.' i don't think it's supposed to appear , but it's kinda annoying... any of you have to same experience?
  22. i've just given Jof and SuvieD a space tag for their passed contributions to space :-D :-D if you want them to be removed at some point for whatever reason, let me know...
