apo, this looks like a dog to me :P that's your camouflage, isn't it? :P 1) what's inside the body? 2) how do these guys get all the way up to the guns and cockpit? 3) i'm surprised that the hinge that attaches the head to the body holds. 4) it seems you're making the same tactical mistake as the AT-AT designers: your extremely vulnarable to fast ground troops. they can easily attack you from your left or right, in other words, you need a gunner on the underside; i don't think you'd survive a coordinated attack on both areas between head and first leg. you need to come up with a mechanism that allows the head to turn left/right 5) what the leg mechanism of the upper arm? 6) why don't you use plates instead of the xwing cockpit? it is supposed to be an armoured vehicle, is it not? you can either use technic plates with holes in them, or build a larger plate with a hole in it. then use the new hinge plates to suggest heavy armoured protection for the windows... in any case, i'd use the AT-AT head design because it's the ideal design, i mean, suppose they're using a fluid to attack the head of your machine. with the AT-AT head, the fluid will almost immediately fall to the ground, your cockpit has so many different angles, it would form puddles... 7) i like the 2nd gunner. i'd probably get seasick if i were in it in the middle of a fight, but it looks cool... 8) your machine needs lights, Apo; suppose it's dark and you're walking on difficult terrain? asking for trouble, that is... 9) it seems to me you need a communications unit as well. suppose this guy is walking on a planet the size of jupiter and needs to contact home base? then wot? 10) i'm afraid i'm going to make your cockpit redesign even more difficult, apo; you need a second man in there. one man to control the entire machine, the other to control the cockpit guns; you can do with some cockpit lights as well... this poor pilot is sitting in the dark... :P

Murder on the Lego Express Part 2
snefroe replied to WesternOutlaw's topic in LEGO Mafia and Role-Play Games
why can't we just do an entire systematic search of the train? we still need to have the gun and Phes' toy; i think we'd be a lot safer if we do that... -
i have to say that these competitors are really aggressive these days. they're not even trying to hide the fact that they're copying Lego bricks any more... in the last few years we've seen some toys in europe that are almost the same as, or close to, the lego toys, and i'm really not happy with that. TLC should be protected a lot better by European legislation against this form of piracy. unfortunely, europe is hiding behind free market fanatics...

this post probably belongs to the tv-series thread, but since we are discussing Lucas' intensions here... I was most surprised to hear about the tv-series and all the other sw spin-offs. after all, Lucas indicated that he wanted to do anything but sw in future, that this new project would not have to be a major success,... and now we're not only seeing tv-series, and dvd's, but it seems also a 7 disc dvd box. espacially this last box makes me angry, because we've all just bought the 4 disc sw box. i'm not going to buy another box of which 3 discs i already have... it sounds like a ripp off to me... i was also not impressed by ep1 and 2. the cgi of ep2 is great. i like the cities and all the machines in it... the actors are not good, the story isn't impressive either, in fact Lucas used so many clich

i don't think you can call this a real license. TLC asked the permission to use the name of the company, and she agreed in exchange for money... i do think it's going to be a commercial success tho... a couple of these exclusive train sets are amongst the most popular on lugnet's rankings and it seems people are willing to pay the (heavy) price...

Murder on the Lego Express Part 2

the set shows three men with a map to look for a treasure. my guess is that these three pirates were on the way to retreave their treasure when one decided he could have it all... -

do we know any one with the initials I F? why would she have a golden bracelet? i'd like to see blackbeard's room now. i'll think about the maid's room later... security officier... officer... where are you? i'd like to see another room, now... :P -
Lord Vader, My Master was most displeased with the reaction of our last letter. In fact he was "disturbed", and i'm using diplomtic language here, by the ignorance and arrogance of your generals. My Master also does not understand why you accept the word of your sloppy generals to the detriment of his... However, to proof that my Master is a forgiving man, he's sending you this part of the datastream that was so easily intercepted by us and many others. this datastream contains a message of Rogue Leader (Master Yoda) to you, Lord Vader... it not only mentions callsign Ed_dotcom, it also describes military events you want to keep a secret. You can easily verify this at your own communications headquarters, however bare in mind that your generals will do everything to delete or edit this message to proof me wrong... After all, Lord Vader, they know what you do with generals who are sloppy... regards, a friend

2004/2005 Hunting Star Wars Sets and availability
snefroe replied to DoubleT's topic in LEGO Star Wars
i can't say that i like anything about this set, distance or not... sure... you recognise it as the death star, you can't miss that, but that doesn't change the fact that it's basically a collection of standard plates and bricks. they could have build a hangar, without having to think about scale. after all, nobody knows how big or small this things are in reality. Nobody has a clear blueprint of the moon... -
yeah... the admins on other forums do have a tendency to show they're in control ... we're also more relaxed... remember the petition against remakes/rehashed sets, a while ago? you could clearly see a difference in language between our replies and at fbtb, for instance... it seems we're all seeing this forum as fun, contrary to other forums where people easily loose their temper... one of the reasons probably is the limited number of people posting on a daily basis... fewer people, posting more, gives a stronger community, i guess ...

2004/2005 Hunting Star Wars Sets and availability
snefroe replied to DoubleT's topic in LEGO Star Wars
the more i look at it, the more i'm convinced it's a crappy set... -
I did :-D he he I thought it gave more the idea ;) And PLEASE stay ON topic :-D I feel like being in a Seinfeld episode writing on a thread about nothing :-D since Master Yoda has become an administrator, all sorts of weird things have happened. in the beginning, he could only change people's titles, now we get changing topic titles, number of posts that go up, number of members go up... :P i really hope the other admins. know what their doing with this new admin. ... ... what the hell am i saying? of course they don't... :P

yeah... i'm not a lugnet member but i seem to remember all sorts of nonsense about not being able to discuss topics unless it's allowed or something... i'm only eurobricks member, i just don't have the time to post and read on several forums, you'll only repeat yourself constantly anyway, so what's the point...

Eurobricks Badges-June 24th deadline
snefroe replied to jonfett's topic in LEGO Events and User Groups
sorry Jon, i forgot all about it... -
LOL funny :D I can't explain this explosion of new members but its a really good sign, this means that our forums are really enjoyable and people are having a good time here, isn't that the most important thing???? well i don't know why people chose to become a member or not. i think that lots of eurobricks members are also member of other lego sites, but for some reason, a number of those are just lurking here and posting some place else, others post here and lurk at fbtb,... as Pirate of all pirates said, it's not the number of members that is important, but the number of posting members... however, i find eurobricks far more attractive as a site for posting messages... it's difficult to decribe, but we are different from other sites...

How could The Lego Company Improve itself?
snefroe replied to Mister Phes's topic in General LEGO Discussion
they're getting rid of dark grey? :oo :oo :oo -
synthetic stuff, perhaps, like aceton or thinner? not sure what that does to the metal, tho... i once put a plastic model in a can with thinner, cause i wanted to get rid of the paint. the paint was gone, all right, ... so was the plastic model... :D

you're right. that makes sense...

I seem to remember someone suing LEGO over Clickits, but that's the only weird thing I can think of involving rights to Clickits. As far as I know, they're still produced and distributed by TLC. you're correct. two american women brought a lawsuit against TLC for producing this stuff. the allegation was that a former employee of the americans sold the idea to TLC...
-
thanks for that update, Bricks0937 looks like we've got some more "high priority questions", like: will TLC-Lucas get a new license?; what is going to happen with the tv-series? i think we should watch that story with the eyes of a hawk... i'm surprised to hear that 2006 will be the big push, even tho the last film will be gone by that time...

funny, you say? i'm still hoping it's a joke! i mean, a designer, not knowing fbtb? I'd be interested in what my customers have to say about my models...

Honourable Emperor, Lord Vader, i work on behalf of a third faction, let's call him Mr. X, and i've infiltrated into the ranks of the Great Pharaoh. My Master found, in all his brilliance and goodness, that he needed to inform you on a disturbing event that took place during your search for the rebel Sarq in the asteroid field. It seems rebel Sarq was picked up by a ship on a diplomatic mission and was replaced with a shapeshifter who's job it is to blow up your Death Star... Rebel Sarq is in the mean time droped at a place of his choice... We are almost certain that this ship took off from the Great Pharaoh's planet and we've also intercepted the "mission completed" signal that was transmitted in hieroglyphics... I know this doesn't look good on your troop's achievements... They will most likely tell you that I'm a fraud, a trap... They are, however, only trying to hide their incompetence and lack of abilities... Take master Yoda... do you really want to trust an old sod of almost 900 years with such an important mission? And this ed_dotcom (what's that for a callsign?), just saying the verification code outloud, on an open comlink... is that professional behaviour, Honourable Emperor? Do you know, Lord Vader, that the entire world can easily listen in on your communication with your troops? It's as if the entire communication was transmitted over the Internet!!! Rebel Sarq was most likely listening as well... I cannot go into further details for now. regards, a friend... THIS MESSAGE WILL SELFDESTRUCT AFTER YOU'VE READ IT
