Murder on the Lego Express Part 2
snefroe replied to WesternOutlaw's topic in LEGO Mafia and Role-Play Games
perhaps it's allowed to buy vowels in this game? :P :P or it would be really great if the killer would be so kind to give himself up; surely he must know by now, that we're fooling around with him and pick him out whenever we want to... this will be our line, Master Yoda: we're pretending to be lousy detectives... it's an act to get the killer :P :P if you're asking me, Phes and Blackbeard were shot by Mr. M, Rosa saw the proof of that and was bribed. knowing that she would talk anyway, he killed her too... however, Mr.M wasn't aboard when the first murder took place, so Blackbeard must have killed Phes, Mr. M killed Blackbeard. so i would like to see Mr. M's room and i give you guys permission to search my room... perhaps we could hold a s -
i think the most terrible problem for TLC is the size of these trains. they're so big that it's probably quit difficult for fans to have a real train landscape as you can build with the traditional M

Murder on the Lego Express Part 2

i've already asked the staff about passenger's histories and they say said they didn't recognise any , they're too involved to their jobs, they don't really notice passengers... i don't think we can find records on the train... has it also occured to you, Master Yoda, that we're really lousy detectives? 3 murders and we haven't even come close to solving one :P -
of all parts of all trailers, teasers and spots, this scene stands out to me: -"Lord Vader" -"Yes Master?" -"Rise"

nothing, probably... the problem here is a lack of consistancy in the ruling of these copyright cases. One judge will say that Megablock and others are copying Lego and therefore should be banned, another judge will say that only Megoblock is too close to lego, others will say whatever they want to... it's extremely difficult to draw a clear line here, however, i would ban every construction toy that has a similar size and shape of bricks as TLC's bricks, because that would be too close to TLC's format. as a producer of construction toys you should stay away from another company's format, or you could be considered as trying to copy lego bricks...
-
guys, you have to distinguish two different types of activities: 1) a legitimate company producing construction toys, almost exactly like lego, but not entirely like Lego, (best-lock,...) that's, according to a ruling, perfectly within the law; what we consider to be a "ripp off" is a legal product, unless there's a violation of the copyrights (by using Lego logo, trademarks,...) Nothing TLC can do about that... 2) piracy. this type of crime doesn't have anything to do with TLC as such. What TLC has to do when they find these sets, is to file a case with the anti Organised Crime squad of Denmark/Europol/Interpol,... this does not have anything to do with civil law. However, Lego needs our help to find these fake products, then they can inform the authorities. in the case of the small castle set, the member should have informed Lego, so they could have checked the distributor.
-
you probably also don't know that TLC has been accused of illegal price policies with Carrefour, I believe... don't forget, TLC is a big player, and big players very often feel they can interpret the law the way they see fit...
-
well it's a UCS i believe, so i'm hoping it to be as large as half of the large gray baseplate. the only clue we have is the threads. TLC is going for technic links, so i guess it will be quite large... we also know tlc is going to use traditional bricks, so it should be strong enough to have an interior, but if you take the last sw sets, like the arc, there wasn't much interior to it. tLC could take exactly the same approach for the sandcrawler: large model, no details, especially on the inside...

Murder on the Lego Express Part 2

i thought the gift was the bracelet... what i would like to know about the code is this: is there any logic behind the three digits or is it really farfetched? i suggest we search my room, 'cause i would also like to know what I brought with me. :P (I think i left my "eurobricks event badge" at home :P ) i think the killer just selected this particular box because no one else can open it, (this type of box was different to the rest, i recall) what is in it? perhaps the cutlass? after all, any one/room can be searched at some point; it's a constant risc to keep it in your room, the box, on the other hand, is save. I also think that the box should be sealed, so no one can open it without leaving traces. however, the best thing we can do is get it opened by a locksmith... that's what Poirot would do also :P -
Phase me out? I'm far too obnoxious to be phased out like that. You'll have to try something far more sinister and devious to accomplish that. how 'bout hanging you from the yard up? :P that would do nicely... :P :P

i haven't got a "euro" key at all, even tho my board is only 1,5 years old... isn't there a numerical code as well?
-
people always seem to take pics of the same things in Billund... there's is a lot more... unfortunately, i can't find my own photo disc right now... :P i didn't see the gallery with the yellow castle tho... the shop is great, by te way... looking forward to seeing the vault. we probably won't be allowed to toutch the boxes, but just walking thru all the shelves will be a dream come through... :oD :oD

dear new member, 1) if she likes lego as well, than she should be a member too. don't you know there's a serious shortage of female members here? 2) i hope she's not going to marry you for your lego sets 3) i hope you've told every one to buy lego for weddeng gifts instead of furniture, vases,... 4) i hope the lego sets will be far away when you're having your first big fight 5) i hope you realise that Zwijndrecht is near Antwerp, not Rotterdam :P :P

i can't really see what's so great about these things. they even don't have landing gear... :P i only like sound of the engine... that's great... and oh yes, the UCS was amazing. :oo this red royal guard thing... are we going to see that in ep3, or what?

well, in the case of copyrights of audio visual goods, there is a very strict legislation. If Fnac distributes illegal goods, for instance, they will be convicted, even tho Fnac might not even know they've distributed illicit goods... this means, that Fnac has an obligation to check their goods. if they don't, artists' unions have every reason to take on Fnac. Trust me, these things work, if not only because of bad for image... I'm not sure if the problem lies with a lack of decent legislation to protect brands,... I'm afraid the problem for European legislators is this: what makes a product of TLC , "a product of TLC"? what's a typical TLC-set? for anybody who needs to judge a case on copyrights in the branche of construction toys, that must be one of the most difficult questions. Can you have another construction toy like lego, but at the same time, not too much like lego? Think about this very well, because, if you say "No", you will create a monopolist, which is not good for customers,... however, if an organisation uses TLC's trademark, than the answer is very simple: anti-OC legislation will allow any national/international police force to arrest these people and bring them before a judge. Honestly, Europe is doing good on that front... the only help they need is, they need to be informed by the customers about illicit goods. they can't just pick them out, they need a starting point, to some extent, that is... in any case, legislation and punitive measures are part of one system. they need to work together to get good protection against these activities

Eurobricks Badges-June 24th deadline
snefroe replied to jonfett's topic in LEGO Events and User Groups
jon, how do we pay for these badges? -
you kinda lost me, buddy... can't really see the link between your example and the lego piracy question...
-
i believe they are trying to deal with piracy, as Master Yoda stated earlier... i think the main thing is that TLC has to show this type of organised crime, because that's what it is, that these activities are not allowed. but also the distributor should get the message to be more careful with the products they're selling. if this wasn't Lego, but a copied cd, for instance, they would officially be charged as an accomplice. the only way to deal with this is not only to fight the producer of illegal stuff, but also to alert all distributors in the West

did you report this to Lego? i think you should...

i don't get it, brickster. who knew you had a gun with you? is there anybody you know on this train, or somebody that knows you, might have heard of you? why did you take your gun with you, even tho it isn't allowed? withholding evidence is a crime, by the way... i'm not happy not telling this to the security officer... after all, your gun IS the murder weapon, what makes you suspect number one. even more, we need to inform the authorities in case the gun gets off the train in some way...
