  1. This is really nice. There seems to be some hallway space on the third floor, where you could put a tiny concession stand or at least a popcorn cart. Or have girls in the aisles with trays of snacks and uh, candy cigarettes.
  2. This is very nice. Any chance brainy smurf is there? Perhaps the one receiving the gift.

  6. Brainy Smurf says, "I see no issue or confusion using the same word to mean multiple things. Just smurf with it, you smurf."
  7. I hope they make the gold figure a re-color of the existing 16 figures in the series, which means it will be impossible to feel for it. That means sellers will buy up stock of all figures like crazy to find them. And when they have so much inventory, hopefully that will mean lower prices. Brahahaha.
  8. Why does S9 sold directly from Amazon (not a third party) have a list price of $4.99? Are vendors jacking up the price to take advantage of the popularity? Along with LEGO's artificial shortage of certain S9 figures, the future of the CMF seems a bit more shady.
  9. I'm more worried about finding matching gold-color bricks to match the color of the series. With S9, I'll probably use Gray. With S10, perhaps Tan (yellow already used for S1).
  10. Anyone else annoyed that minifigures with the dress piece are a little taller than others? I suppose I can explain that it's due to heels. Not sure if a custom shorter slope piece would be the most practical solution. For the official Lego Wedding favor set, it looks like they try to fix the height issue with a four-piece dress. But now the woman seems disproportionately short. This is probably due to the printing not going all the way. Perhaps it's best we don't change anything or just add 1x1 plates / shoes to all non-dress wearing minifigs.
  11. And the Year by Year book will include THREE minifigures! I hope they are traditional yellow and not flesh color so they go well with my CMF collection.
  12. When I saw the first (?) generation skeleton with shoulder ball-joints, I thought it would be a great idea to add more posing options. And then when I got my hands on one, I was extremely disappointed that it was all floppy. I also thought about change to the minifigure when I saw the KRE-O figures, but it would probably require adding similarly large shoulders, which would definitely be met with resistance. But at least it would be possible to only require creating new arms and leave the rest of the minifigure unchanged, which allows one to 'upgrade' older figures. This page has more details on the KRE-O figures: http://www.infiniteh...orponok-review/ And why no outcry regarding the flux of the poor duplo figure? Granted, I think it is definitely changing for the better. And at least Duplo children can properly sit. And why can't minifigures have short sleeves like Cinderella? Why is every minifigure either in long sleeves or no sleeves? T-shirts are so NATURUAL that it's weird that it doesn't exist in minifigure form. I wonder if they ever attempted a short sleeve with printing.
  13. Is it me or does Series 9 seems to be priced much higher on places like ebay and bricklink than with previous series? I normally buy a complete set from one vender but due to each box now only having two complete sets instead of three previously, the vendor can't even offer whole sets anymore. Perhaps it's still early in the season and prices will go down later. I wonder if LEGO had intended to keep prices inflated by limiting certain minifigures to only two per box.
  14. This looks great and similar to what LEGO would produce. Is the person holding the boat face trophy Eric Raymond? And no Synergy? Perhaps next year. :) Are the blue and white Misfits hair official LEGO pieces?

  16. It looks like the "bio" for each figure is almost an exact copy or an abbreviation of the bio info on the LEGO website. I guess these books are getting easier and easier to put together.
  17. Luckily for me, the kids are satisfied once the tower touches the ceiling.
  18. It'll be funny if the mech looks like a Gundam.
  19. From the sample pages, it looks like it confirms that S9 and S10 will NOT contain a: fisherman snowboarder skier Of course, no guarantee they won't throw in a girl skate boarder to balance out the existing three. Frankly, those pages look so bland and uninteresting, similar but worse than the little blurb you find on the cardboard backing of a G.I.Joe action figure. I may only get it if the included minifigure is fantastic. Perhaps something silly like an early minifigure... in solid gold. :)
  20. I just read a thread about LEGO damage from UV rays being the biggest thing to worry. If I have my lego figures in my plastic (vivak plastic) wall display case (see above) and in a 2nd floor room with double-pane windows but no direct sunlight, should I be okay? Or should I cover my display with a cloth or something when I'm not looking at it? I think regular plastic or glass blocks out most UV rays but perhaps not all types of UV. I don't want to have my collection fade in color but it seems like a waste to hide them.
  21. I hope those wings are clipped on to real arms or held by the hands instead of being a whole replacement for the arms. It would then make them much more re-usable (arm armor?).
  22. Found another shot of Ellie and her hair. This is starting to feel a bit stalker-ish. Her hair seems to be long in the back.
  23. L@go, thanks for the tip about the Friend's hairpiece. I have to try it out. Faefrost, I never thought about using the surfer / skate boader's hair on a female, but it does seem to work alright. It does look the closest to Ellie's hair, but not quite. It would be interesting to see what hairpiece is used in the actual sets.
