  1. I dropped by the New York City Lego store, grabbed 16 random packs, and went to pay. The total rung up more than I expected so I asked and was told that each costs $3.49! I was a bit annoyed since the lego catalog and online store show it to be $2.99. I decided not to get it since for $10 more, I can get a complete set off ebay and not have to worry about returning duplicates and buying more random packets to complete the collection.
  2. I may get this if they fix the printing of the fisherman. On the original, the yellow on the body didn't come close to matching the yellow of the legs. And the body printing didn't extend to the edge, leaving a large blue divider to what is suppose to be a one-piece yellow overalls. Advertised: Reality:
  3. Interesting enough, the US Toys R Us website has these prices: Series 3: $2.99 (out of stock) Series 4: $3.49 Series 5: $2.99 Series 6: $3.49 (not in stock yet) It seems non-Lego stores can set whatever price they want. Strange pattern. Will they sell Series 7 for $2.99?
  4. I just got the Lego US January 2012 catalog and series 6 is scheduled for January 9th release. The price is still at $2.99 so no price increase. Was there a price increase elsewhere in the world?
  5. I just opened the fisherman and was disappointed with the body printing. The yellow of the top printed overalls doesn't match the yellow of the pants. And the printing doesn't extend to the bottom edge of the piece, so there the blue line dividing the top and the pants, which ruins the illusion of the overalls. Really a big difference from the computer-generated roster sheet. And I don't have the original Lego from my childhood, but was the yellow of the hands always a different shade from the yellow of the head or body? It's pretty noticeable on the Sumo Wrestler that the hand and the arm are made from a different plastic. I'm curious if this has always been like this or did quality go down with these chinese-made parts.
