  1. Yey, Ship Index updated! As I changed job last month, I kinda was too busy so Icould not update it for a while. So last week I spent almost 9 hours updating, checking, doublechecking and cursing because I missed a ship So again to everyone: I am deeply sorry I haven't commented on your wonderfull MOC's! Such a great entries for the Challenge 2. I have seen them all (as I check every post for shipmaterial), and I really enjoy the work everyone puts in BOBS!
  2. Wow, Finally the Ship Index is completely updated again!!! All new ships are included All ships are checked if they are licenced or not (can be found in the Faction Ship Index). MRCA results of March are included! => Have fun! Now, I am wondering if it is ok for you if I just keep the Ship index like this: - Ship name (builder) + image The info can be found in the Faction Ship Index :) Ok or not?
  3. Yes, Eslandola has the Walrus then?
  4. Finally... In 2h I start upgrading the ship index
  5. Join the club kaiju :p after 3 months my first income :p Too bad Faladrin lost again his ship... Seriously, again such a great luck for Corrington...
  6. After captain Ben D'Anvers sailed a few times back and forwarth to the Viking settlement and right before his ship sunk (that bloody idiot...), he managed to improve the relationship with the Viking Tribe to a level of trust, so an alliance was made. Part of the deal is that MAESTRO teaches the Vikings how to handle guns and rifles. In exchange, MAESTRO has now a compagny of Viking soldiers. Back in Elysabethtown, Lord Tomvaximus decided the best spot for the new fort would be across the entrance of the bay, so the ships in the bay could easily be defended against raiders. I hereby present Fort Viking ----- Pfiew, just in time normally :D Anyway, C&C welcome :)
  7. Great! The minifigs, is it April 1st onwards or do previous builds also count? Also, what happens when a minifig dies?
  8. Go Ska! It was SKAndalous it didn't happen earlier!!
  9. Hahaha, depends on how you see it :p After some calculation in my head, I see why the new free licence can be an unfair advantage for the system when having more than 1 ship. So I'll keep that in mind :) But I agree to Kai, a ship that isn't more than 50% in hands of one person, should not count as a full licenced ship (except when determining how many ships one has in a fleet).
  10. At Brickon: exactly how I think about the matter! (edit, I am not referring to your post of 1 minute ago :p ) The reward of capturing a ship is a price (the licence), which is already much higher than most traderuns. About the freelicencing when you used to have more than one ship: The whole game still is a game where a lot of luck is intended. I think a free licence should always be possible once that ship is lost, even if you have already 6 ships. The reason why? It is more fair. Why should a player be punished because after 2 months he lost a ship and only has another one, while there will be players who are so lucky they still have the free licenced ship and already 6 others after 1 year. This would result in an unfair advantage for the lucky players. Another thing: losing a ship is already bad (no income). So if the player has to lost his right for the free licence, he is punished twice as hard (no income + the cost for licencing).
  11. My point is: for people like me, it is difficult to rebuild a ship everytime she is sunk or captured. I combine Lego with a fiancee, 2 jobs, a website and social life (and I enjoy the occassional watching Netflix). Also, in order to advance in the game, it is also important for BOBS as community that people make decent ships, not stupid ships because suddenly they only have 1 month to build a new ship. Another thing: I like to keep my ships intact as I do 6 expositions a year. This means everytime I want to build a new ship, I have to start from scratch and bricklink all bricks. I do agree that in time, a captured ship should not be the end of the world. However losing your flagship is really frustrating as a decent new flagship takes months to build. So maybe we can meet in between and propose next: no matter how you lose a ship (even captured by another player), everyone is granted 1 sistership active at a time. So if your current ship is already a sistership and your second ship sinks or is captured, one needs to post a new (or at least heavily modified) ship. edit: just wondering sth, my free ship was destroyed last month, and I licenced a sistership for it (as mentioned above, due lack of time) as free licence. But I do have another ship in my fleet (although it is a shared ship). So did I broke a rule with the free licence?
  12. I still don't see why you are punished if a pc captured your ship while you are free to sistership when a npc captures your ship. Even IC this makes no sense because the NPC is a part of IC, meaning the ship still is part of the game. I am sure there is no captain IRL that sat home because his ship is captured and he is not allowed to make a sistership because his enemy is real and not imaginairy... If he needed a new ship, he would have made a sistership...
  13. Sad news to hear indeed....
  14. 3 questions to the game masters: 1) does every captured ship need to be MOC'ed in order to use it in the next MRCA or only those that never have been MOC'ed? 2) are ships captured by NPC players automatically removed from the game or are they simply added to the fleet of that NPC in the MRCA? The latter sounds the most logic... 3) if a bobs player captures your ship, can you still use the sistership to licence or do you really need to wait till the ship is out the game? IMHO, a NPC player and a real bobs player should be considered equal... It is not fair you have to MOC a captured NPC vessel while your colleague has a ready to use captured vessel...
  15. I am not really looking forward to it I hope she will survive the transport... Thanks Kabel, even I am not entirely flattered this is only the first ship you admire of my fleet Well, first things first, I fear licencing will already be a challenge Thanks Mike! I am glad I managed to be first, she will be remembered in history books now for sure Yeah, certainly after seeing the HMS Enterprise, I agree with your advice. I wanted to keep it simple (well for this size hahaha) and use prefab hulls. For myself, I know this is the limit with the prefab hull possibilties. The moment a ship will be bigger, brickbuild hulls will be needed. Maybe my next ship will be with brick built hulls. ... About the sails, I am not sure yet, unfolded sails do a lot of harm to visibility of everything next to a ship (especially in big lay-outs). The moment I saw the teasers of the upcomming ships, I decided it was time to lock myself in my room for 2 days in order to finish her hahaha. I am really happy I am the first Thanks CptD! It was constantly a fight between playability and esthetics... I am already looking forward to what you are coming up with! Thanks! Thanks as well :) I think my next one will be with tan instead of dark tan :) I got a lot of those bricks thanks to Kaliphlin Hahaha thanks ! For Eslandola! Yes indeed sir! She stands now in our living room. Every now and then I catch myself staring at her while smiling satisfied Thanks Kai! I learned a lot for my next ship But still, I hate rigging... Luckily the endresult is worth it! She won't be sailing out this month I fear... Thanks for the nice words! Hahaha, "Margot" Class will be the first known class after class 5 in the Ship Index Now I have to wait until I got an idea of licencing costs, cargo value, speed value, gun value, ... Wait, what? Every faction has 1st rates... Ah daaamned... But still proud to be the first in New Terra!!! Thanks! Thanks! Let's rule the seas!!! The fact is, the lower deck is higher than the middle deck But it is maybe not entirely noticeble on te pictures. The space between the guns (who are placed on a higher level of 1 brick) is minifig height. It was better, but then again the colour didn't really matched. And to be honest, I forgot the steering wheel till just before the pictures, so I kidnapped the steering wheel of the IFS Thanks Indeed, as said earlier in this way too long post, I don't think one can make it bigger on prefabs. The red fences were the only solutions I could find for old windows with a curve. If I ever find a better solution, I can easily change it as those sides are turnable Not sure yet what I will do with the useless arm :p The explanation of homage works fine for me hahaha I really hope so as well. That was the plan to only take her to Skaerbaek. As said to Tomsche, I really have to find a solution for transport. But maybe I just gonna try transporting her a few times around the block and if she survives it, she is travell worthy :p If she is not, I will have to spend 2 more days to rerig her... help She will be in Antwerp for sure!! Thanks! I find it very cool myself I can remove one of the sides I used to be an army collector, so I got around 1000 minifigs from Medieval and Age of Sail times. So don't worry about that Yeah, let's hope we won't need to raid other faction traderuns But as long as she isn't licenced, I don't have to worry about that Thanks for the feedback! You certainly got a point about the gunports. And from now on off, all my ships will have 4 studs between the gunports Thanks Puvel! Wow Bregir, thanks a lot for the feedback!!! About the rowboat, that's indeed sth I didn't think of... About the technical issues, I am going to reread it all with a dictionary besides me as half of it sounds chinese to me But I am certainly going to take your feedback in mind for my next ship, so thanks a lot for finding the time for such a big post! Hahaha true So, my next project will be "Religion of Eslandola", a strong New Terraman based on this ship:
  16. Hahaha, I am pretty sure some of my future soldiers will be modified Peter Pan's
  17. March 616 "Hoooray!!" Bells are ringing and the citizens of Stedor are running towards the quays. Cheering and chanting for the proof of the power of Stedor. A 55-gun 3rd rate ship of the line. At this moment the most powerfull ship ever seen in Halos and the first ship that will be granted a class 5+ classification! Sure there will follow other ships, probably even bigger, but this vessel is the first and will become legendary for ever. The "Margot", named after the fiancee of Governor Maximilian Damaximus and treasured like the girl herself. Admiral Bostoximus will command the ship. A bright and gloryful future is laying ahead! Side with open gunports: Side with closed gunports: Admiral Bostoximus: General Whisximus: Governor Damaximus & Princess Margot (and also King Fernando Augusto VII) Some stuff can be removed easily to have access to the cabins: Captain's Cabin: Even a whole part of the side can be removed: Looks like someone is already partying too hard ------------------ Aftermath ---------------------------- Yes, I did it!!!! 4 months work in it. The last 2 days were nothing but rigging for me... But I am soooooo happy with the result (my fiancee Margot after whom I named the vessel as well). So proud! Thanks a lot to Captain Green Hair and Sebeus I for the help and feedback! Comments & criticism welcome! Praise is ofcourse welcome! And to all (potential) enemies of Eslandola: why don't you give your ships already now? It would be a shame to see them lost in a battle due the difference in gun strenght (she should have a 13 gun rating based on the 55 guns she actually can carry).
  18. Golden Start for the last open spot Hopefully I am a bit more lucky this month...
  19. French way as well :) Olé-on
  20. I am against upkeep costs for class 5+. It will already cost me a fortune to licence Margot. If I have to pay upkeep, it is a huge investment for a ship that can be lost after already 1 month... Don't forget building a class 5+ ship is for most people also a real life investment. For the same money you can make smaller ships without upkeep and bigger ROI
  21. That's true, but those pages have a countdown and refresh page system :p I just think the results are very poor for licenced ships...
  22. Honestly, I am not such a big fan of those biddings... It is very unfair as not everyone has the possibility to be online at the end of the bidding. I would suggest a bidding where participants send the auctionmaster a bid in private message so they don't know about eachothers bid. I also think this will result in higher yield for the seller Just to be clear, I had no interest in the ships, it just is my opinion ;)
