What DC/Marvel Hero/Villain Do You Most Want To See Made In LEGO?
Sam892 replied to Mr. Elijah Timms's topic in LEGO Licensed
After getting some of the new Batman sets I would love to see some remakes of the old figs like Mr Freeze and Scarecrow. It would also be great to get Batgirl a Harvey Dent fig and Supergirl. -
What minifigs are we missing - post your detailed suggestions here
Sam892 replied to CopMike's topic in Special LEGO Themes
After getting a couple of the Olympic minifigs then I would love a world cup series. It would include some of qualifying teams. The main reason would be to get each countries team strip. Only thing that would be a problem would be goal keepers kit. At the moment I can't think of any way around it. -
Just got back from WHSmiths today and purchased my first lot of Olympic Minifigures and was shocked. I didn't get one duplicate its amazing! I got six in total: The runner, swimmer, horse rider, weight lifter, tennis player a d the Judo girl. They are incredible and I am glad I got them.

Recently I'm having trouble with the quality of parts. I got a replacement a few weeks back for some cracked legs in a brand new set that appeared over a period of two days. The fig is Ironman and lego replaced them easily enough. About two weeks ago I got the quinjet and the same problem with that figure when I picked up my cosmic cube version the problem happened again to the replacement legs. I contacted customer services and they don't really believe me and want to see the receipts for the items. I have the quinjet receipt but have lost the other other time. It really is frustrating when I have spent £90 and two figs are faulty. I still have Lego from when I was a kid that's still in a good solid condition.

Just lookat how dark the Harry potter series developed into. There was so much death and scary creatures. The films however are still rated for a younger audience though just like LOTR even though there aimed at adults mainly there's no swearing or sexual scenes which is ok. To some degree Star Wars and Indiana Jones had some violent scenes in them which were questionable. Just look at poor Darth Maul. Also that electro suit Batman looks pretty cool. Not sure about the new cowl in him however.

It wouldn't surprise me if lego had one in secret. They most likely don't want to announce it due to a leak. Maybe I'm just being hopeful... Hopefully if they do release a set it would include the main trio ( Bane, Batman and Catwoman) with a couple of vehicles like the Batpod and tumbler.

I have to admit although I'm not a fan of the new Doc Ock fig I was pleased to see he had both a reversible head and his eyes are not 'CW style'. Maybe the figure will grow on me, I wasn't a fan of the new Two Face figure but after purchasing the set a couple of days ago I really like him. Also I'm not sure about us seeing some of the classic villains just yet. As far as I can remember none of them have appeared yet on the show apart from Venom and Doc Ock. In the show Spidey and pals team up with with more Experience heroes to fight some of there villains like Loki and Sabretooth.

I agree Lego should give out freebies but I think they should be early releases of a character or the ability to get a couple of sets early. Instead Lego are making limited runs and making it difficult for non Americans and for people who cannot afford to get there or purchase them figs on the second market. It is a bit of a joke how much those figures rise in price on places like eBay. A lot of people of who get given these figures at these events are going to see the panels about TV shows and Movie panels. It's unfair how lots of Afols will never get the chance to own these figs and it's terrible how non Lego fans can be given a Green Lanturn exclusive fig and sell it for ridiculous prices. It seems that all these exculsive figs benefit is the rich.

The problem with your solution is that Its not that easier for the majority of people. I would love to go to toy fair or comic con but in order to do that I need to buy flights to America, a hotel, tickets to the event, get some spending money saved up and book the time of work in order to get the fig. Lots of people would have bought a Dark Knight Rises set or a Green Lanturn set but instead Lego limited the number on them making it expensive for anyone outside of the USA to get them. Also the Special Iron man and Captain America figs were not just given to attendees you had to be invited by LEGO to a breakfast event to get them.

This set is by far one of the poorest in the superheroes line if not the worst. I think I will most likely get it when I have some money off. The previous Spider-man is much better, like someone's said before this one looks like he's wearing pyjamas. At least Iron fist looks ok. Doc Ock looks like a cross between a homeless man and a cyborg John Lennon.

What look to be the 2012 "must have" sets
Sam892 replied to Faefrost's topic in General LEGO Discussion
It's a tough one as this year has been the best year ever ( maybe lego thinks the worlds going to end). The must have sets are gonna be: Jabbas palace Desert skiff Gunman sub Batmobile Superman vs Lex Luthor Wolverines Choppershowdown Funhouse escape Big Ben All the lord of the rings stuff Sop worth camel Haunted house And finally the droid escape set -
Yep that's the one. Thanks Emperor Krulos!

The difference is those sets while limited to certain shops and companies can be purchased at any time. However with a convention or special event the figure or even set is extremley rare. Your more likely to find rocking horse poo than an exculsive figure for a reasonable price. Look at the toy fair Iron man and Cap figs their about £355 each.

Agreed its a huge kick in the teeth when Lego hand out an exclusive and know one knows what to do. I wish I bought last years comic con exclusives when they were cheap Now there about £100 which is crazy. It's also irritatating when there's an exclusive which people pay a lot of money on eBay for just for it to be included in a low cost set like Superman was. Lego need to scrap exculsives and instead just give everyone there early set or figure which will eventually be made available to everyone.
-
Not sure if this has already been made but could someone make a decal of the exclusive comic-con Batman please.

I don't think the action figure licence applies since Lego sell superhero ultra builds which are considered action figures. I think the action figure licence only applies to star wars themes.

Oh well never mind we still have two great waves of superheroes sets so far so I can't really complain about TDKR. It still would surprise me if Lego do make a Tumbler but don't base the set around a film. Maybe later on in year or next year...

Thank goodness for that. I was planning to Buy this for someone at Christmas and was panicking thinking I had to try and hide a Christmas present for 6 months

It could be possible after all Lego did secure both licences and Dc and Marvel had a joint comic for a few months called Avengers vs Justic League. The plot was a Krona travels through different universes seeking the truth of creation when he arrives in the Marvel world and meets Grandmaster. Due to the fact that Krona is destroying universes after he leaves Grandmaster offers a bet to save his universe. He Grand master wins then Krona has to leave and not not destroy the Marvel world and if he loses he will take Kotna to Galactus. The bet involves the Justice League fighting against the Avengers to find several items from each of there universe. In the end they team up and defeat Korna and Grandmaster. Not sure if this is cannon in there Universes but it would be a very interesting LEGO game I think.

Went to my local game store yesterday and they were selling some of the preorder copies. So I picked it up and it's great the only problem is the gun is way to big for lex to hold

I totally agree with you that LEGO should stick to characters that everyone knows but I'm not sure Emma would be a perfect fit. The only way I could see ghee included in the line is if she was a villain like she was originally. Its not really about exposure but more of fan favourites that will make it into sets along with core characters. Admittedly Emma is a very core character to the series but there are lots of other characters which are more likely to make it through. I think we will see other the next few years the following: Nightcrawler, Storm, Jean, Cyclops, Gambit, Rouge, Beast and professor X for the X-men. With Toad, Mistque, Sabretooth, Quicksilver, Scarlet Witch and Juggernaunt for the brotherhood. After these are made we will most likely get Emma along with Kitty, Iceman, Angle and Colossus. Hopefully Lego does a big set like the Mansion to get a lot of these figures done. That's just my opinion though.

Ye but it would make more sense to hold back a TDKR set until nearer the time the movie is released. Also DC most likely didn't want a possible Dark knight rises set out that early because it may have given away certain plot points that we didn't know about. Plus sets don't have to be released al at once. Star Wars had the R2-D2 set released in May long after the Star Wars waves.

I would love to see some sets based on the Arkham video games. Some of the character designs like Mr Freeze and Scarecrow would look great as minifigures.

We didn't know about the Funhouse set that popped up in January. No one had any idea that it existed at all. On the postitive side there have been lots of rumours for a while that a Dark Knight Rises set was incoming, and I think it was even mention in the orginal Press release from comic con last year.
