  1. After reading this I can't help but think that maybe just maybe Lego has a large exculsive for later this year. Like the Black Pearl was. It would be cool to get a secret set about Christmas time.
  2. Luckily this has never happened to me, but I'm always on the lookout for boxes that don't look right. If the box is damaged even in the slightest way I avoid it. On the point of Lego removing the celotape tabs on some boxes I have to disagree. Whenever I get a big set with the tape at the bottom I know that it's going to be a luxory set. It's part of the image of big expensive sets. It feels and looks like even Lego want the box to last a good few years. Maybe there should be another fail sake on the inside. Like a card board sheet that you have to pop off to get in.
  3. Wow Bane looks amazing. When I saw the Hulk I wished that Lego had done the same for Bane. He reminds me of his appearance in Arkham City. Anyway some figs keep up the great work!
  4. This is great news I was planning on going to Milton Keynes this weekend anyway. Not sure if my wallet could take another beating after the Hulk promo and the TC-14 promo . Still I can always get something small or try to raise some funds for the weekend.
  5. Really love the look of the game, so glad that Lego found a way to add voices but keep the humour. Can't wait to get my hands on some of the sets. Curse you August why do you have to be so far away.
  6. Hi everyone At this Moment on time I have some Lego polybags for sale. 30160 Lego Batman jetski x4 30161 Lego mini Batmobile x5 30018 police plane x5 £2.00 each but I am willing to accept trades. Also I'm planning on updating this topic regularly with more items. Thanks everyone! Sam892
  7. My Hulk fig came in the post today. It's a very cool fig and am very pleased that I got him.
  8. If your getting the chopper showdown the I would also consider getting the cosmic cube escape, Captain America's avenging cycle and maybe even the helicarrier breakout. There are some great figures in the Marvel sets especially Iron man and The Hulk. If you really wanted to go for it then you could get the quinjet. However I would personally wait to get this at a lower price or part of a promotion.
  9. Was tempted to get another one of these the other day. Maybe when I have some money off coupons.
  10. I admit that the figures help when choosing a set but if I am going to have to buy a set mainly for figs then I wont pay the full price. I will try to use VIP points or wait for a sale.
  11. I actually think it's a lot easier to make sets based on the comics than the films. For example the avengers sets had to follow scenes in the movie but the comic sets can be made from scratch. I haven't really read any of the comics in a few years but I can't remember dead pool and magneto fighting wolverine with a helicopter. The same with the Batman comic sets. LEGO can pick a couple of characters like Cyclops, Night crawler and Mistque for example. Then Lego only need to add a setting or a vehicle. The X-men licence covers a lot of ground. Although it doesn't cover the Films it covers the comics and most likely the TV series. Lego love to make up situations and add characters that dont belong. Look at some of the star wars sets and even some of The Avengers sets. Also I don't think we will be seeing the Fantastic four anytime soon as I believe that although the DC license covers all characters, the Marvel one only covers Avengers, X-men and Spider-man. So unless Lego and Marvel expand the license to include them or they appear on The Ultimate Spider-man show, we wont be getting them. I can see why Lego hasn't got the whole marcel license as some characters don't fit into there core values. Characters like Ghost rider, Blade and punisher although are key characters in the marvel universe are inappropriate for Lego.
  12. Ordered the POTC mill the over day in LEGO's sales. Almost got the London escape as well but held back because this summer will be expensive with all the new sets.
  13. It's a tough question. I think that some of the sets include some great new pieces and elements in unique colours that make the sets worth while. However the main problem I had with the series was that the cars couldn't have been converted in two minifigure scale cars easily. I love a good car in a set that's about six studs wide and has two front passenger seats. When I first saw the pics from a toy fair I fell in live with the some of the new body styles, but I don't really have any use for them. I think the cars sets had the right lifespan of two or three waves. They were worthwhile certainly but they weren't really my thing. With that said however I may pick up one or two in the sales.
  14. I really like the minifigs and will most likely get it for them. A bit disappointed that anakin didn't get a new face as he hadn't turned to the dark side yet at this point. The ship and landing pad look terrible but the office looks ok glad that the window doesn't look bad was worried how that might look. Overall it's not a bad set but it had high expectations and it fell short. Will most likely get it on sale or with VIP points
  15. I would personally buy the fire brigade. The reason being is that it will disappear soon while the others will last at least another year or two.
  16. I'm hoping that the next waves of DC and Marvel increase in the set numbers. Although the sets were fantastic both theme centred around Batman and the Avengers (for obvious reasons). Although I don't mind this I didn't leave much room for Superman, The X-men or Spiderman sets. Hopefully the number of sets will go from 6 to 8 or even 10.
  17. I just downloaded the game for Xbox and I'm addicted to it. Looking at the set in tempted to get it when it gets a wider release.
  18. I have lots of the old fabuland figures in one of my boxes of Lego. When I was born all my sisters lego was passed on to me.
  19. Should be getting my fig in the post soon. I ordered the knight bus, the POTC Mill and an alien conquest battle pack. All together with postage it was about £60 in Shop@homes sales.
  20. The modular buildings. I missed cafe corner and have never really got round to buying one. They look amazing and that's my biggest regret.
  21. What a cool little addition to mini land . I'm kind of hoping that a queen lookalike will appear in the collectible minifigs line. After all we already have the Queen in mini land form and as a car in cars 2 sets why not a minifig. In fact throw in Brian May and Freddie Mercury while we're making Queen figs
  22. The set looks ok will have to wait and see the price and piece ratio before I decide if I'm gonna get it. Iron Fist looks pretty good and Spidey is ok, not to keen on doctor octopus yet . I do hope that if they base more sets on the ultimate Spidey cartoons that they don't just stick to spideys vilians. After all he fights Loki, Doctor Doom, Juggernaut, Energyman and countless more. Does anyone think that marvel will extend the current licence to other heroes like the fantastic four for example?
  23. I've always used LEGO instead of LEGO's. It most likely because my older sister and dad said it like that. It bugs me a bit when people add the 's' at the end but it's forgivable.
  24. I got this set a couple of weeks back and it's ok. It's not the best avengers set probably the worst. The Hulk fig is brilliant and I hope Lego make more marvel characters his size like Juggernaut. Anyway sets ok but the only reason To get this set really is for Hull and the jet.
  25. Ok I found a really great find this week but I will just give a little bit of backstory. My cousin's boyfriend works in a bank and in the UK this week is the sun promo. Anyway one the employees there happens to be a AFOL and was building the sets at work. This drew my cousins boyfriends attention and they started talking. Anyway theres also an lady who works there who's about 70 years old and after hearing the conversation she says " I have a bunch of unopened star wars sets in my attic that I bought for my grand kids and they never opened them. I must have spent about £1000 on sets". Two seconds later I get a text telling me this info but I was a little late for one set. The other AFOL got a brand new UCS star destroyer for £250. Anyway she's drawing up a list of all the sets this weekend. The last thing she told us was I don't know what there worth and I don't mind what I get for them. I almost died but before I fainted I shotguned cloud city if it's there.
