  1. I just got back from my nearest shop and it was chaos. There was about 40 people all lined up at the newspaper section and anyone who got more than 3 papers got the most evil stare and a couple of shouts. Some people were going round the back of the shop to cut the line and grab a few papers. Those people were getting a torrent of abuse from a large lady who ended the rant with " with it's only LEGO for god's sake". When the shelves ran out of copies the same lady shouted "do you have any more suns" which they obviously did they. The guy behind the counter said " ye don't worry we have tonnes more". The lady the replied after insulting everyone on else and shout at those who had more than 3 papers "good I will take 6" and tried to jump the que. Still I got six jet skis yesterday and seven today. Thank god I'm not bothered about tomorrow's set.
  2. Are these grab bags available in the UK? I haven't seen them but I never really browse the shop as I know what I'm purchasing. Sorry if this question has been asked before.
  3. Not a big fan of the sun promotions. Sure it's cheaper but it's much more difficult to get hold of. I have to get up early and que outside Whsmiths. Then grab 3 or 4 papers. I don't read the paper so most of the time they just get thrown out. It would be easier if Lego just sold us the polybags like they do else where.
  4. I wish this was real, ever since I got TC-14 two weeks back I kept think how awesome a chrome Mark II would be. Think I posted elsewhere that it would be cool. Looks like I need to sign up to Cuusso to vote for this and hopefully, someone photoshops a Loki figure with a chrome gold head piece and staff for me to vote for!!!
  5. I think next year that LEGO will deffinately make more sets based on comics. IMO the X-men set and Spidey set were just teasers. There's no telling what LEGO will do but I'm guessing next year we will get one or two Spidey sets, one or two X-men sets and the remaining sets spilt between Iron-man 3 and Thor 2. I can also see them doing a shop@home exclusive like they did with diagonal alley.
  6. The only thing I can think of is that the legos has a line running from top to bottom on both legs. It looks like the lines that you get on gold bricks like C-3po. The cracks appeared at the bottom of the lines about a 4 days after I bought the set and by the time a week had gone by they had cracked the whole way though. I'm from England UK and out of the 4 marvel sets I own 3 of them have had problems. The only one so have which has been fine (touch wood) is The Hulks helicarrier breakout. The figs I've had problems with are Iron-mans legs and helmet, Wolverines legs (extermely loose hinges) and hair and Captain Americas shield.
  7. I have no idea how the heals cracked he did have the blue cylinders in but he was just standing on the shelf. The only thing that could have cracked the heels are the cylinders but the new legs are fine and don't have even a scratch.
  8. I just got this set over the weekend and love it. I never managed to get the fist Catwoman set from a few years back so I can't compare the two of them. I love the newspapers and the traffic light I don't know why but they add so much more colour to this set. The figures are great and I was a bit disappointed about the lack of cape. To fix the cape issue i bought two of the new Batman key rings and put one on my keys . The second I removed the pin with a soldering iron and then took the blue cape from him and slapped it on my Batman figure.
  9. These sets won't be disappearing anytime soon, they will probably last between a year and two years. Even after then some shops may have left overs but I guess that's down to where you live. The superheroes theme isn't a two wave line it's got a multi-year deal. That means I can see at least another two waves but, if the sales are anything to go by then I can see another three years out of this. Don't worry yet this wonderful theme will be a here for quite some time.
  10. It matters a lot to me I don't know why though. Most likely because I like it when the minifig doesn't look out of place in a scene. I love double sided faces but I hope in the future that Lego make different faces for repeat figs. For example in the marvel superheroes sets there are two versions of Iron man. It would be much cooler if one set had a angry face and happy face printed onto the head, and the other set had a concerned face and a scared face. LEGO did this with the old spiderman sets. Doctor Ocopus had three different expressions.
  11. Yay! My parts arrived yesterday in the post and they are much better quality than my previous ones. LEGO said they dispatched the parts from a Danish warehouse. I don't know if this means they were made in Denmark or were just sent there. Still I'm very happy with the parts although I'm still a bit paranoid and am constantly checking Iron-man's heels everyday. Lastly I was quite surprised when I opened the bag that LEGO had sent me a whole helmet instead if just the face plate. Anyway thanks everyone for your help over the last few weeks
  12. I've been watching the cartoon and although Iron-fist is one of the main characters, Doctor Octopus hasn't fully appeared yet. They keep hinting at him and he makes some cameos, but my guess is he's got a large roll towards the end of the series. Maybe the set is based on the final two episodes. Anyway I hope they don't just base the Spider-man stuff on the new cartoon, even though I like it the changes they have made to the story are a bit strange and lacking. I hope they base some sets on the comics for Spider-man and Avengers stuff. Maybe the new Spider-man set is a Target and Tesco exculsive? Makes sense as Toys R us has a blue DC set.
  13. Well done on reaching 10000 votes. It's good to see a non licence set reach the review stage. I still can't help but notice that this will look awesome with the back to the future Delorean.
  14. I think im the most jealous person in the universe at the moment. It will be another 3 months at least for me to get this.
  15. I'm a bit confused so I'll tell you what prices I was thinking for each set.The Miami home would be about £80 and the Whiplash attacking the Grand Prix would be £30. Lastly Jane Fosters camper van would be around £20. I Hope this clears thing up
  16. I'm loving the marvel polybags. It would have been better if Black Widow was included instead of Hawkeye but it's still cool. Shane that all polybags have to go though newspapers here in England.
  17. I think the reason that the Firefly project was turned down was because the franchise appears to be dead. The TV show was cancelled and I believe the film was a flop. Due to this theres not a fastly expanding fanbase which you have with other themes like Star Wars. Even though many could say the same about Back To The Future, the franchise is still expanding at a steady rate. All three films are repeated a lot on TV and the franchise still makes products like for example the episodic game released last year and Blu-ray box-set (which I think was also last year). Plus the 30th anniversary approaching. These Factors would create buzz for merchandise and I reguard BTTF as a family film. Its a film that is like Star Wars, Indiana Jones and Lord of the Rings in that parents show there kids them and they enjoy them together. I remember watching all of those franchises with my Dad even though many of those older films were before my time. Even though most CUUSSO models are aimed at AFOL's its important with CUUSSO that they do appeal to families. It should be cool enough to appeal to the parent but at the same time draw in the child to play. This has always been a core value of LEGO that familys should bond though LEGO and I think its important that this is continued. It's a shame that the Firefly project won't be made and I feel sorry for the fans of the franchise. However i don't see how Firefly can fit into that value.
  18. Here's a pic of what Captain America looks like when he's on the bike in question. I added the clip from the back of his standard bike so that his shield can be stored like in the real set. What do you guys think? I think its much better and seems like the bike would ask for.
  19. I'm hoping the liecence for The Avengers includes all films from the Cinematic Universe like Thor and captain America. I took a look on the web and I couldn't find anything that said Megabloks still holds the liecence to Iron man. Still even if they did have it a couple of years back LEGO snatch POTC from them, can't we do the same again.
  20. The bikes also available now in the pharaoh's quest sets. I can't remember which one but it's not very expensive and was about £6 when I got it. If you don't want to wait for monster fighters you could most likely get the quest set a lot cheaper now.
  21. Since megabloks still hold the rights to produce The Amazing spider-man sets, do you guys think they may also hold the rights to Iron Man 3 sets? They did after all produce Iron Man 2 sets.
  22. It doesn't surprise me this is not going to be made. However it's a shame that this is another cuusso set that's been denied. Hopefully the others will.
  23. It would be good to get a couple of origin sets for Iron man and Cap. Also I would love to see some fantastic four sets. Lastly I know it's not really a set but a promo figure of a chrome silver mark II Iron man would be cool.
  24. The only place to get LEGO for a good price is the States. Here in England although the numbers are the same we still pay more on most sets, Sometimes it can be double. Although thats nothing compared to what you pay. I think its a testament to how much you love LEGO if you buy it at that price. In recent years I struggle to be able justify buying some sets due to the rising prices and the declining quality control. Rest assured that I will send a message to LEGO about the price of LEGO and ask why the States get the best deals.
  25. I love this fig and am so happy I got one. The only thing the upsets me is the grey areas. On mine there on the insides of the legs, the top of the legs, the back of the shoulders and the hands.
