I totally agree. Pushing the price up is most likely down to the licence fee and new molds. Every figure has at least one new mold ( the head ) two or three depending on the accessories.

What The Simpsons character do you want as a minifigure?
Sam892 replied to just2good's topic in LEGO Licensed
Comic book guy would be great, so would Chief Wiggam and Moe. Lenny and Carl would also make for great additions as would Skinner and Rod and Todd.- 82 replies

How do you know we're not getting DC sets in the fall? Looking at this year LEGO are releasing each companies waves at different times. January DC March Marvel Summer Marvel Maybe DC in Fall I feel your pain however, at the moment the only comics I'm reading are DC and X-men. So I'm incredibly upset over DC's lack of variety. However in saying that a lot of the characters I prefer to read are appearing in sets. Nightwing Batgirl Flash mans more X- men. It's like LEGO has been watching what comics I've been buying the past few Months.

Simpsons Collectable Minifigures aka Series 13 (non-official term)
Sam892 replied to kasmca's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Not to mention the accessories that will be included with each figure. -
Well from the looks of the storm and magneto set, I'm guessing it will be around £40-£50 Mark. Ye can see the corners of what appear to be the Black bird. Also for everyone saying that the picture doesn't look preliminary, you can clearly see part of the watermark in the corner. The set underneath with Wolverine on the box will probably be about £20. I have nothing to go on but LEGO love those three figure sets at that price point.

Well Wonder Woman has already been confirmed for the film and there was a big announcement a few weeks ago. I also think she will play a major role in the film since it's already been stated she will wear a costume. On top of that it would be incredible strange for DC to make a huge announcement about the casting of a character for them to only have a post credit scene. It's also only the second casting announcement of the film, so if DC announced the casting of a post credit character before other leading roles ( villain/villains and bat family members). So I expect a Wonder Woman figure in 2015 if LEGO make MoS 2 sets. Also that Flash script is from a cancelled flash movie that was in development before Green Lantern flopped. Green Lantern was meant to start the DCU however after it's failure DC went with MoS as the wider universe starter. I'm looking forward to most 2014's super heroes wave. All of the DC ones interest me, and nearly all the Marvel ones. The new Nightwing is especially tempting

It doesn't mean anything, it just means that the person who saw the list didn't see them listed. But that could mean that they were omitted from the list, most likely because the GotG sets are movie based. Also maybe the x-men set is a D2C set, which aren't listed in usual catalogs.

I doubt it, when we get to the next Batman wave it will be time for man of steel 2 sets. So LEGO will most likely have a set promoting the Batmobile in that film, instead of the one used 7 years ago. Plus I get the feeling that LEGO will be too busy from here on to go back to produce sets based on old films. Just for Man of Steel 2 LEGO has to include: Superman Lois Lane Maybe Perry White and daily planet co Batman Maybe Alfred Nightwing (rumoured) Robin (rumoured) Wonder Woman Flash (rumoured) Green Lantern (rumoured) Metallo (rumoured) Lex Luther (rumoured) That's a lot of potential characters and Confirmed characters that LEGO need to look at. I don't imagine that they would produce all of them, but they need to get the majority of important ones. So by 2015 I think LEGO will be too busy for a new tumbler. Also if we get another DC wave in 2014 then I doubt it aswell. We already have a set with a tan tumbler in it, so I doubt LEGO will produce another while that's still on shelves.

Well lego must be doing something right with Superheroes, since it hasn't really changed its strategy with it. Every year we get a number of $20 sets that include 3 minifigures and some sort of vehicle or 2. If those were unpopular LEGO wouldn't have continued to make sets around this formula. We have 9 sets based around this formula so far. As far as I can see the Superheroes line is selling extremely well, last year everyone complained about the sets, but they still sold well. I always see people buying them whether they are kids or adults, which means that despite what a lot of people say about the sets that they are popular.

I think lego will wait until the MOS sets are discontinued, as at the moment there's still 3 Superman sets on shelves. While they are based on the film, I think LEGO will want to wait until they've got all the possible sales from the movie sets. Otherwise they would be losing sales.

Well I don't think the Hobbit sets can really be compared to the DC sets ,because the hobbit sets are based on something. I haven't seen the new movie yet but I assume that all the sets are based on specific scenes in the film. The DC sets are mostly plucked from thin air. The reason bilbo isn't included in every set is because from the look of the sets he's not in those scenes. Also while it looks that desolation of Smaug wave only has one Bilbo set, there's still another DOS set with bilbo. The barrel escape and murkwood spiders are based on DOS despite being released last year ( most likely because they decided to make 3 films out of 2 ). Also Bilbo isn't really a huge action character unlike batman, and he isn't a huge draw for a set either. When a kid sees a hobbit set there more taken in by the set in general including the creatures, figures and how the set looks. Where as with DC it's oooh Batman, and then whoever else. Green lantern is a huge risk for companies at the moment, especially given that the movie flopped, barely any movie merchandise was sold, his cartoon series was canceled and no shop would sell any cartoon merchandise since the movie merchandise didn't sell.

We've had the exact same number of both bat mobiles and planes, 4 of each. 2006-both a plane and car, 2008- TDK tumbler 2012-plane and car 2012- The Bat 2013-plane and car again Unless your counting the UCS Batmobile, but since it's not Minifigure scale I don't think it should be counted.

Wasn't that confirmed months ago? I'm sure there were rumours around comic con then it was announced around the end of summer. I'm sure even Bradley Cooper talked about in a interveiw around October time.

I don't think the builds are too hard at all, most of them can be worked out with out the picture inside the door. I would certainly like the choice between current advent calendars and a larger one, or perhaps more builds that take multiple days to complete. An advent calendar of just figures wouldn't be possible. It would just stop people from buying the sets as their getting the figures elsewhere.

Not really most versions of Iceman are solid white. Even then if they went with similar styles to electro, Iceman's printing would be extremely different, both in expression and torso. He would look a lot more snowman like, look at the R2 D2 from last years Star Wars Calender as an example.

Finally some reviews from professionals instead of awful Brickshow crap. Both sets look great ( Batman more ), but I don't like the red hip Spidey. If there wasn't the blue strip between the red, I'm sure he'd be fine but personally he looks stupid.

I'm sure it was more "Here's the budget this year, looks like we will have to make several new molds. It's usually only a few but this year there's loads of new ones. Flash's helmet , Green Goblin, Rocket Racoon, Groot, Star lords helmet and a new Nova helmet." "Isn't there any way to get more money"? " nope not when we are competing with Hobbit, Star Wars, TMNT and all the other themes that want more money. Well it's more important we get these characters right than get someone to spend time on designing a new Spider-man figure. Make him design either an X-men or Guardian figure".

Well Batman has both a grappling hook and Cape he can glide with, yet he still has tons of vehicles. I'm guessing it's so Spider-man can get around New York faster. While Spider- man doesn't need them kids will most likely love playing with them. When you look at most of the Superhero sets you can ask if they truly need the vehicle, Extremis boat, Bat copter, a Second Bat mobile, Second bat plane, Nightwing glider, second Bat bike, ect.

Plants and humans are biological organisms, where as Androinds are machines. I find it strange how TRU in America are able to put the the price up straight away. Here in the UK ( or at least in my town ) they keep the sets at normal price for a year then raise them. I still find it ridiculous how people are willing to spend $5 to get sets 20 days early.

Surely Extremis would only work on Humans, and wouldn't on Ultron as he's a Android. Ultron wouldn't have a brain which is what Extremis rewrites so the body can repair itself, Extremis couldn't interact with a micro chip. I'm guessing that there will be 3 Guardians sets and 2 X-men. I guess that the Guardian sets will included both Gamora and Nebula so there's another two female characters for those complaining about the lack of female minifigures. Also I'm thinking we will see a few members of the Nova corps as well.
