  1. I don't think that a lack of females characters justifies replacing deseased voice actors. Your forgetting that Marcia Wallace won an Emmy in 1992 for her work as Edna. To replace her with another actor really undermines all her work and the effort she put into the character. This isn't the first Character to have been retired after an actors death, both Lionel Hutz and Troy McClure have both been retired after an actors Death. I also don't see why they can't introduce new female characters or give other characters more of the spotlight.
  2. Apart from the Roof top battle, the sets are just rehashes of previous ones. We have the S.H.I.E.L.D jeep from Loki's cosmic cube escape, and the Quinjet. Both those sets were only released 2 years ago, and have only just been discountinued. Just looking at the Star Wars theme everyone seems to get angry when LEGO remake a previous set, and if that happened with the Superheroes theme I like many others would be pretty angry. It would be purchasing the same set just in order to get new figures, it's a waste of a set. Apart from the Roof top battle, the sets are just rehashes of previous ones. 3. Personally I'm glad we haven't gotten sets based on Thor 2 or Cap 2. They offer us nothing new except new characters. Thor 2 sets would badically be Lord of the rings style sets, all the characters would have swords and axes. To me that doesn't really fit into a superheroes theme, while I think Thor is certainly a Superhero the setting of TDW isn't. Then there's TWS which is basically just S.H.I.E.L.D stuff. In fact most of the stuff we've already gotten with the Avengers sets. In the trailer you can see a Quinjet, jets and Jeeps all of which we got in 2012. Also since S.H.I.E.L.D are basically the bad guys in TWS it might confuse kids looking at the sets, especially when LEGO have been building S.H.I.E.L.D up as good guys. But come on TWS would basically just give us rehashed Sets with new Characters. I've also seen people question why they don't just make all of Spideys vehicles S.H.E.I.L.D based instead of red and blue. It's because of two reasons, the first is without the bright colours the vehicles ( spider copter mainly) become much more military based. The second is that S.H. I.E.L.D are a spy agency, which would compete with the new Agents line that's coming, LEGO would lose money from this. With DC I can kind of understand the criticism, but at least we are still getting JL members even if it is slow.
  4. I don't think that the debate is about legal issues but more moral. When you asked about the eBay listing you were supisious yourself, and after almost everyone agreed and even some offered past experiences in these cases you still bought the set. Just the purchase of this set has caused a lot of problems for people, while you haven't had any consequences. The credit card that was used to purchase this set, was stolen and some poor person has most likely recieved an awful phone call in the last few days. That phone call has most likely made the person feel worried and sick, and probably caused them a lot of stress. It's a large inconvienice when bank info is stolen and although this guy has most likely been given back his stolen money, he's had to get a new credit card, worried for days, and hasn't really financially at least been able to operate as usual. Having someone use your personal information and steel from you is an awful experience, and that poor person has had a hell of a week. While your not the only person to have bought from this seller, you've contributed to this horrible act. If anything you've encouraged the scammer to do it again as from there point of veiw it's worked perfectly. To help cause so much pain and to someone and encourage crime just to save $50 seems extremely cold to me. While I'm sure your a nice person, I don't think you've full understood the consequences this has bought onto others. If this scammer doesn't get caught the process will just repeat itself. So while you've saved $50 of a LEGO set, LEGO themselves have lost $150 per each GE sold and someone's had an awful, awful week.
  5. Rancor pits and other 'normal' sets are a bit different from the D2C sets. The D2C's like modulars and UCS sets never get discount off, because of this and how hard they can be to locate their price is usually high. Even second hand D2C's drive high prices. Due to all of this it's incredibly rare to find one D2C set for below RRP, it's nigh impossible to find someone selling 5 or 10. Just based on probability it's incredibly likely something fishy is going on with these products, and it's be widely publicised that these stolen credit card LEGO scans have been happening.
  6. Hopefully it doesn't come at all, It's such a waste of a set. Plus do we really need a model based around a batmobile that last appeared in 2008 (TDKR did have a black tumble). It really is the worst concept for a UCS ever.
  7. I don't understand why this topic can't last at least 24 hours without becoming an arguement. Cant we all just try and have a happy, arguement free topic for a few days?
  8. I think you could certainly fit aminifigure inside a big fig, but it would be difficult to get right. Looking at the concept art and mentally turning it into a Big fig, the head of the Hulk Buster could be separate and detach from the main torso.Inside you could have a seat or some studs to place Tony inside, but really it depends on the movie. As many others have Said it could be Ultron controlling the Armour in which case Tony may never actually operate the thing, in this case i can't see why LEGO would spend time designing a feature that isn't used in the film. however if Hulk rips the helmet off and then rips Tony out of the Hulk Buster then I could certainly see it being Designed in to the Big Fig. in regards to them using a Brick built method I could see them doing something similar to a Mixel, the Ball joints would add to the mechanical feel of the Armour, but at the same time it would shame the Hulk big Fig, as using a Mixel type design would have much more articulation. Having a Mech that can have its Legs, feet, elbows, pelvis and fingers positioned would make the Hulk look poor and cheaply designed.
  9. As with the Iron man helmet, I'm not sure where it would be ok legally for LEGO to use Bobas helmet. It has some features like the lines on the back and the lines on the side that are unique to mandoloreans. I'm sure Disney and Lucasfilm would be too pleased if LEGO recoloured there design and used it for rival companies characters.
  10. Even though the Hulk Buster Armour appears in the Movie, it doesn't mean we will see him in a set. After all there was a ton of stuff we did get that was in the first film. Plus the Hulk Buster would require several new molds, Body, left and right arms, hands and head ( if it's a separate piece from the torso ). That would be costly to make and will drive set prices up. On top of that it would be a set with two big figs which would be expensive, and most likely have a really low piece count when compare to sets in the same price range. I guess it depends on how long it's featured in the movie for, and whether there are any other action sequences that are more important.
  11. Checked out my local B&M ( Northampton ) and they had a good selection of LEGO. As stated above they had the new Batman Game and Galaxy Squad sets, but also the LOTR game and Chima Game as well. The Batman, LOTR and Chima games were priced at £12.99 which is the cheapest I've seen them.
  12. The Iron man helmet is extremely different from the Shield piece. The Shield piece doesn't have any characteristics that tie it to one character, it's just a round shield the has printing on it. However Iron mans helmet is basically Marvel IP it's design, contures and features are all based around Marvel property. It's essentially the same as Darth Vaders Helmet or Batman's cowl they are tied to a specific character and can't be used else where. The Shield is different as without printing it's not linked to a certain character, but as the iron man helmet has been molded in that shape it will always be Iron man.
  13. It's nice to see that LEGO are continuing the micro worlds alongside the normal Minifigure scale sets. I had a feeling they would cancel them.
  14. Those characters have appeared frequently in Kids TV shows and in one case some films. Two-face has appeared in Batman Forever, the Dark Knight, the brave and the bold, Justice League, TBAS, the new TBAS, Justice League unlimited. If say Two-face is easily one of Batman's most recognisable villains along with, Joker, Penguin, Riddler and Catwoman. Manbat and Taskmaster are more obscure but again they have been appearing in animated shows, Manbat really has an identical list to Two Face ( minus the films ). Taskmaster has appeared in Ultimate Spider-man and I think Avengers Assemble? Anyway these characters are appearing in prime time slots on kids TV, While characters like star girl aren't.
  15. DC comics collectables and LEGO target completely different audiences than each other. DC are targeting usually Adults and teens, while LEGO are targeting Kids. On top of that DC are targeting people who are direct fans, it's highly unlikely that anyone purchases straight from DC unless they are comic book fans. Where as most people purchasing LEGO are either Kids or Parents of those kids, and unfortunately Kids don't care about Stargirl or Steve Trevor or Deadshot. Plus DC collectables sell mainly over the web, or in Comic book stores which are places dedicated to comic book merchandise. LEGO is mainly sold in stores, in places like super markets, toy stores and department stores. Just by being in different types of stores means LEGO has to play by a different set of rules. DC collectables at are competing with Marvel products in comic book stores. While LEGO is competing with Megabloks, Playmobile, Xbox, Playstation, Kre o and With merchandise around whatever film is out ( sometimes there Marvel and DC ). If a kid sees one thing in a set that they don't like it can put them of the set. I've seen kids in the store switch to a different set because of mini figs or weather they know a character or not. WHY would a 7 year old want star girl? As far as I'm aware she hasn't even appeared outside of comics ( which are aimed at teens upwards). Most 7 year olds aren't even going to know whether she's a villain or a hero. LEGO also only has so much shelf space for A) there brand and B) each theme. If they screw up once it's expensive for them. One set might not seem a lot but if a set doesn't sell well that's thousands of copies that is really just sitting there wasting room that could sell another product. Comparing DC collectables to LEGO is like comparing a apples to oranges, they don't play by the same rules because they physically can't.
  16. It's been rumoured that DC is looking to make a live action YJ TV show, similar to Arrow, plus it kind of sets up 3 of the characters already. Red Arrow and Wally West are in Arrow and The Flash TV show, with strong rumours that Nightwing will appear towards the end of series two.
  17. According to reports from early viewings, Rhino isn't really the main focus of the film. It's much more about electro and goblin, while setting Rhino up for the future. From that I'm expecting that when the Sinister Six film comes out, Rhino will play a big role. So I'm assuming that's when we will see Rhino and whoever else is part of the SIX, maybe Doc Ock, Vulture, Lizard, Electro, Goblin and Rhino?
  18. And The Avengers is ruled out as someone gets stabbed through the chest as aposed to blasted through the chest.
  19. I picked up the Steamroller set at the weekend and absolutely love and hate it. The steamroller itself is great, I'm not a huge fan of the smile on the front but everything thing else is perfect. As is the Minifigs, Damian, Batgirl, Joker and the henchman are awesome. The only problem I have is the plane which is awful, at best it's some more black bricks. The mechanism it uses is impressive, but it's such a waste. I can't help but feel maybe they should have included a Bike or something instead.
  20. The whole 10cents per piece ratio doesn't really apply practically to sets these days. Sure the new X-men set has fewer pieces than one would hope for, but some of those pieces are pretty large. Most of the jet is made of large plates or wedges, plus a new mold, new cape design and parts in new colours ( storms hair in white ). All of these added together kind of make it worth while, especially when you look at the X-men themselves.
  21. Considering the high demand the figures from the 2006-2008 series had, it's no wonder why LEGO would redo them first. It's most likely to give people a chance to own characters that they previously couldn't afford.
  22. People are forgetting that this is Barry's FIRST suit that he uses. From episode 8&9 of Arrow we know that Barry admires Green arrow a lot, so it makes sense that his outfit will resemble Arrows. The suit will evolve and change through out the series as Arrows did, so I'm guessing it will eventually be a lighter red with gold/yellow. Plus we haven't actually scene the suit on TV or in motion so we can't really conclude an awful lot about it.
  23. Not really, the MM promo covered all sets so people didn't have to buy superheroes stuff. If fact I'm guessing a large number of mms were dispatched with the sea cow and other exclusive sets. The physical brand stores may be operating differently but online covered all themes. That's most likely the reason why it went out of stock faster than previous years, Jor el and Hulk were exclusive to Superhero purchases.
  24. I think personally it may mainly be down to what's happening with TV. At the moment Ultimate Spider-man is between seasons and while I'm sure it's being rerun, I doubt it's in prime time slots. Avengers Assemble and Hulk and the Agents of SMASH are currently in the middle of their seasons. This might express the intrest in those sets as every Saturday ( or whatever day it is) Kids will see new adventures of those characters, and will but Spidey to one side. It's a smart marketing push, get kids interested in half the sets and when they lose interest in Avengers already have Spidey sets on Shelves. I'm sure the Spidey sets will move when Disney start the Spider marketing train up again, most likely near the time of the new film and season three of USM.
  25. Hopefully if this line proves popular, then next year we will see a second series. Maybe including Comic book guy Rodd Flanders Todd Flanders Skinner Smithers Lenny Carl Ect. Mostly the main characters that are absent from the first Series. The line up still sounds good, hopefully we will see pictures in the next few weeks.
