  1. It's not restricted to just this figure or indeed this theme. Ive seen the funhouse being bought for £60 + shipping and many people are buying the sets above rrp on ebay, amazon etc. Its mad. Tempting to follow suit though.....
  2. Nice MOC, I wonder if Lego would bring back the theme but with a new focus and similar name, Atzec quest for example?
  3. It doesn't look like it from the rendered picture from the catalogue but then again it could be a very fine bit of print detail, as they are iconic but don't take up that much of the design. The Captain America figure looks to be one of the best designs at this early stage... More to the point though, will The Flash get printed Wings on head/helmet/mask if he were to appear in a future DC wave? As for Thor, we may get a variant one with helmet one with hair if he appears in two or more sets. A little along the lines of black/blue/ and yet to be seen grey Batman
  4. Diagon Alley in Shelter, Byres Road, Glasgow(Charity shop). Mostly built in its box(broken into smaller bits) dusty and instructions missing. £25. Needs a clean too
  5. Im trying to think of many current lego sets where there isn't a good/bad demographic to the sets. Anyone? Venorami shrine? Good guy/bad place. All the DC universe have it and I think the Marvel ones will too. The change in tack of this years Star Wars battlepacks also illustrates this.
  6. They may have been in the last game, but still fairly obscure to most people. I don't think you'll see mad hatter. Freeze yes, Hush too new I think. Huntress, Batgirl, nightwing, alternate robins would be a great way to go. I know it would never happen but Reaper from Year Two? Yes please Be interesting if Freeze does get the old colour scheme, I like the new two face(in the minority I know). Looking forward to the Sunday build with the kids....Batcave time!
  7. Penguin has to turn up sometime! And in a similar style to the last incarnation. Scarecrow too, Ra's Al Ghul? Then maybe, just maybe they could start getting a wee bit obscure with the choices.....
  8. Very much so. Bought the V Wing the other day and at its RRP that was a very poor set but at give or take half price and a couple of decent minifigs it justified the sale price. Today I bought another venorami shrine, this time thankfully with a better printed zane and Jays storm fighter. Its going to be an eclectic weekends building with the plane and the batcave
  9. It is....but comics aren't normal Interesting talk with my brother today. Getting some supeheroes lego for his own two kids at Bluewater. The staff suggested to him there that the Marvel stuff will launch April for the May release of Avengers and that there are stocking instructions in regards refreshing the line that has just launched. In short each wave could be extremely short lived from the point of view of production runs so that there is no overcrowding of shelves and competition between the sets. This isn't a new notion, I seem to remember Lightningtiger mentioning it a month or so ago for Oz, so maybe I'll never get the Batwing on sale
  10. Fantastic reveiw of the introductory set and I completely agree that in the main this set is all about the Catwoman exclusive fig(at this stage). Can't help but feel she has been short changed a bit over the years by lego and not given a slightly larger set to be part of..... The 1x1 round tiles are great, its one of the Ninjago sets there are a slew of them. Can't remember which one. Great that the Batmobile set gives you two of them with two face's coin printing on them. The scenery I feel is like the comic book included and there to be added to and built up. Lego is giving the building block to fire Kids/Adults imaginations.
  11. I randomly found my spiderman set from the last time Lego made them the other day. Damn I forgot about that set! Ah well Ghost Rider for whatever wave in the future then.....
  12. But would it have got as much uproar as the Friends theme launch got....? As for the hulk trousers issue, Im guessing Dr Banner was wearing Chinos to work that day.... Glad its a "maskless" Wolverine, having one would have made it truer to the comic universe, but I think it would have ended up looking a little bit like Catwoman mask and too clumsy. Raises the issue again with the licence basis, as to my mind and most others, this looks like Hugh Jackman Wolverine ableit with yellow costume. A little off topic, like the funhouse that came from "nowhere" what chance a Ghost Rider set being the TRU exclusive set for April?....I can dream
  13. Lego sell it from the website and I saw it in Bluewater earlier in the week. So if the Milton Keynes store is a decent size(never been) Im sure they will have it. The net feature(when packed right) is a neat little feature on the plane. Raptor chase may actually be my favourite set though as the vehicles in the HQ are really dire( my opinion only)
  14. Whilst aware it is a render, the Hulk doesnt look as bad as I thought it was going to. In fact I can see both sides of the comic universe costing me a lot of money. Looking forward to April...........
  15. You got him away from the Kryptonite that must have weakened him in the box I love the Superman set...but anyways I bought 5888 Ocean Interceptor and now the kids have 2 sets to complete the wave, nice little set, perhaps short in pieces and the 7915 V Wing
  16. 5888 Ocean Interceptor is in TRU in the UK, Argos don't have it, John Lewis don't stock Dino yet so it looks like that it may be exclusive to TRU here. Great set, 2 sets to go to complete the line up but I'll wait and see if money drops off the tower takedown and the chopper.....
  17. Why dont you click and collect?, according to the website Kirkcaldy does have them. Just ordered two funhouses to collect in Glasgow. Hold on to them for a while.....
  18. Just been on ebay, the relative scarcity of these sets and the history of Batman sets is making people do crazy things. I've seen the Batcave for £99.99, Funhouse £59.99, Catwoman at £15 and rising, Batwing at £45 and rising, Superman at £23 an Two face at £55. These prices are all net of shipping and they range from £5-£8. The Funhouse is the only set that the price hasnt been entertained yet, absolute craziness!
  19. Such an innocent comment I made about Ryan Reynolds, who knew he wasn't so beloved by the comic community.....at least now we know how they'll make Captain America and The Human Torch look different should they make Fantastic Four sets, with the rights issues as they are. I never read Marvel as much as DC as a kid, but Im wondering who the vilains will be in the respective Marvel sets. Hoping they are as diverse as they are in the first wave of DC sets.
  20. Plus Ryan Reynolds is clearly aiming for Alfred Molinas & Warwick Davies crown as most represented actors in Lego minifig form. Green Lantern, Deadpool...Lego Van Wilder next?
  21. "We took the results and wherever possible...." In other words these are the highest placed minifigs that were voted for that we are willing/able to make available again, not necessarily the top 5 that the customer voted for. It does lend credence to the view that some minifigs are deliberately made in fewer quantity and meant to be rare. Lego obviously know they have a highly collectable product.
  22. Got an e-mail from Forbidden Planet this morning telling me my sets are ready to ship. I've already succumbed to S@H so doubles of Superman,Catwoman, Two face on the way Did order the batcave from them so at least one new set in there, little embarassing though forgetting about an order I only made three weeks ago. Back on point, the bricks n' mortar versions will likely be getting them in soon too. Can't see Argos etc being too far behind
  23. The sort of can't sit down it's so sore expensive? Joys of parenthood
  24. Nice review. A set I don't think I'll pick up but certainly a review that is making me think twice. Need to watch the prequels again as when was Gunray sand greeny in colour?. I've never had the problem when the "skirt/dress" legs dont match up with the torso but I'm sure it'll happen soon. Thanks for the review, the minifigs may yet convince me to get this set.
  25. It looks like a great set, but I kinda hope it takes a small drop in a sale at some point. I enjoy the snakemobiles and Kais cycle is a great set. but yeah there are many in the new line that make me wince.....
