LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series 6 Discussion
surrideo replied to Rufus's topic in Special LEGO Themes
I have two six year old boys and their "army builder" appears to be the bandit and the space woman/barbarella, as all the double space aliens and minotaurs went to school with them to be traded. Maybe they will be lego "mates" for all the ADU agents they are getting at xmas -
For those in the UK. I went into Forbidden Planet today as I found it strange that Amazon doesnt appear to have the superheroes sets up for preorder. The staff there are expecting the sets in the week beginning 8th January. They are charging £67.99 for The Batcave £34.99 for Batwing £49.99 for Two face set £11.99 for Catwoman set £18.99 for Superman

Truly loving the maths, takes me back to University. Ill try and take a pic of the bag instruction/poster insert later and upload it. A mixture of feeling the bags and the extraordinarily talented random pickings from the girl in WH Smith has limited me to buying only 28 to get the full set and the doubles Ill be keeping. Only one minotaur, glad of that. -
I accept it should have gone into lucky finds or what I bought today, sorry
-
I'm terming it a find, but if it should be moved to "What I Bought today" then I'm sure a moderator will and thanks to them in advance. The sets are 3/4 years old and I'm aware of what they fetch on Bricklink, Ebay etc so I was surprised them turning up in such good condition for relative pennies. Not selling them
-
Greedy, if they had aimed at $250 they would have made a good profit with a realistic chance of getting the price

Well my wife went to my mother's christmas church fayre yesterday and returned home with admittedly very well loved gaffa taped shut boxes of the above sets, 7786 Batman and Scarecrow Copter Biplane set & Riddler and Bane versus a bat-tank type thing. When opened I found everything was broken down, even the minifigs and the boxes were jam packed with loose lego, alas no instructions. Ive found what I think are all the minifigs but I also appear to have Robin, different coloured batmen,Penguin and Mr Freeze. Who arent on any of the boxes. Judging by the sharp colour contrast in bricks I think the Robin scuba jet set may be in here but I wont know till I download all the instructions from lego and attempt to put them together. If only the boxes that come from lego were this full lol I've a busy sunday with my kids ahead and my wife paid £25 for both boxes

I'm very wary of John Lewis just now(Im in Glasgow) On wed they had the new ninjago and friends out on display and were selling them. Not any more, they seem to be having a mini clearance today. They had the minifigures behind the till but they allowed me a "rummage" and Im fairly confident I have near the full set after buying another 20. Ill find out once the boys come back. Strange every other series Ive collected at a reasonably leisurely pace, the early xmas release has spurred me to try and get them all asap. Maybe thats the marketing mans plan lol -

Strange choice of language...."Conveniently left out". To be pedantic they are £2.00 in TRU, £1.99 in WH Smith High street and £1.95 in John Lewis. It is good they haven't had a price hike though. -

To be honest a gryffindor cape can be added if you want to see how it looks plus lego have given the option to add plumage though what one that already exists would be best I have no idea? -

Frequency is important if you happen to live in a town or city where a box has been manhandled within an inch of its life for the highly desirable ones e.g spartan, elf etc. I suppose that is the joy of buying a sealed box and guaranteed full sets in one(very expensive)go. For the 5 series so far I've had to buy an average of 25 per run to achieve full sets. Some of it through blind luck and more recently by feeling when Ive had the time. However getting hold of Spartans was like procuring gold dust at times. -

My wife got them from a WH Smith which Im guessing there will be in the shopping centre you describe. The only problem with there is you get what the cashier gives you unfortunately, as you probably know. Waiting for John Lewis to get them as I cant stand TRU and not always near a Smiths. Having seen your reviews Ill leave it to someone with a decent camera to post pics. -

They have them in WH smith on Argyll Street in Glasgow and in Dundee according to my Wife. She has bought the kids some so Ill see what they/I get -
Just finished making the Venorami shrine with my kids. For anyone else who has a new set. Did they find placing the sword into the Pauldron extremely difficult?. It appears to be the opposite problem to the holders that came with the PoP sets.
-
They may have them in store. John Lewis have them in store, not priced up and no mention on their normally excellent website. Didnt have all the Booster packs though just annoying Lloyd, who I'll get in the Rattlecopter, prob tomorrow

God I miss Wellington........ Why can't lego release elves like that in a proper Santa set? Great find and thanks for the nostalgic look at Greta Point Wharf

Saw a few of these sets in John Lewis(UK)earlier today. I agree with whoever said about Polly Pocket. The figures are somewhere between the Toy Story ones and Duplo but best of luck to Lego in cracking a market they have little footing in. I'd probably pay more attention to them if I needed the unique colours or had daughters. They are definitely fresh in comparison to some of the "boys" lines

A lot of people make construction toys like lego these days. There USP and IP is the classic design of the minifig and with the sharp evolution in design and detail recently they are fully aware of what the consumer buys the product for primarily or at the very least it has a strong bearing which sets they buy

9441 Kai's Blade Cycle and 9440 Venorami shrine from John Lewis Glasgow
-
For all the UK based forum users. Just been in Glasgow John Lewis to exchange a double gift. They had almost all the new wave of ninjago. Original plan was to get a refund but I picked up Kai's blade cycle and The Venorami Shrine and refunded the rest(£12.95 and £5.95 respectively) They also had the Rattlecopter,Jays jet,Coles car/tank thing and the Lloyd booster pack. I'd say it was safe to assume they are in all John Lewis's nationwide.
-
It would make sense not to release everything in January and as you say the whole wave hasn't turned up in TRU or Lego US as of yet for any of the lines. I also think staggering the releases will help my wallet greatly
-
That is so impressive they kept this set quiet for so long. Some price point for the figures that are included . Much more tempted to buy this than the Batwing too. Thanks for the pics.

Alas two of those elves brought two spartans to me. The gladiator I actually prefer to the spartan. Back on topic, the Skater girl hair is great. Hope when you get your Narcissa her grimace face aint smudged like mine
