  1. I bought the new 2012 Cars 2 "impulse" sets yesterday and already own classic mater, lightning and Grem. Lego in my opinion are now making better toy cars than the traditional companies do now. Each one of these very simple builds are great quality, brilliant prints, no stickers. It will be a shame when Lego stop making the theme, excellent sets. I have none of the biggers sets so can't comment how good the theme is as a whole
  2. I agree. It may be hard to properly compare the two faces from the minifigs but you would have a hard time believing it was the same person with dark hair and a beard. I know minifigs can only show very minimal expression and likeness but the Han Solo and Indiana Jones minifigures and Dastan lol look similar enough to be the same person
  3. Great modification to one of the best sets of the first wave. Thanks for sharing the pics especially Superman lifting the mech, don't shake the table....
  4. Something almost Phileas Fogg about the gent on the right, apart from the mechna leg lol
  5. Apologies I didn't think you were. The side arm printing on the Gladiator is exquisite and a great many of the superheroes who may possibly turn up in this theme would definitely benefit from the factories that carry it out.
  6. Then just report it?? Anyway....I've been sitting with my boys who know nothing of LoTR and because Lego are making it and reading the site beside me now want to watch it, read the book and guess what? Dad was going to struggle with his own conscience and will when considering these sets. I'm done for......
  7. Have you seen Wonder Woman? Comes in her own bag(well her hair, lassoo and legs do) so I think like all licensed sets they would think about it and to be clear I don't buy into the China parts hysteria, they clearly bring new development to the minifigure.
  8. Depends what version you go by. Movie which this should be based on I would agree, comic book version maybe not so much. If there were too much detail it could bleed or not show up right if on a darker colour. Though when I think of the gladiator, sleepy head and mummy maybe they could manage? Good point.
  9. Thanks for the pictures, more than enough detail in them for most to decide if it's worth buying or not. Think I'll wait for Amazon to knock at least 20% plus off the rrp though.
  10. "That ain't a bear!" lol The more I see the werewolf minifig the more I want it. Hope to hear descriptions of the sets if they are being shown as I am not sure how much of this theme I'll pick up due the plethora of hopefully quality lego coming later this year.
  11. The minifigs will definitely sell this theme more to me than the actual set part of the sets will. This is very strange for me, as I always think of the minifigs as complimenting sets not making them. Hope when images surface of the sets my mind will be changed. Slightly off topic, but can you imagine how much The Fellowship of Minifigs will fetch on Ebay in years to come?
  12. I think considering it will open it has to be that big so the rim of the helmet won't snap. Be interesting to see Iron man and a batman minifig side by side to see the difference(if any) in height?
  13. I take it they will be like the Expo's I attend for sportwear. Phones off at the door or lose it and definitely no cameras. It's a strange one for me, I'm very interested in Jabba's palace but I've a feeling the price is going to be the kind that won't allow me to sit down without flinching and hence I'll never buy it. Also not sure if a text description of it will just frustrate me more. Be good to hear if they showing the Skiff, that set will definitely bought with a great range of figures included.
  14. I wasn't that interested in this theme, but the variation they have given to the collectible minifigures is making me look again. The werewolf looks class and it seems the new claw piece from Wolverine is going to be well used(Don't thinks its from the PoP sets)
  15. Boots in Glasgow randomly had the new Cars 2 "impulse" sets showing at £5, scanning at £1.99! Cue going back for the Francesco, Yellow corvette, blue mater on top of Finn McMissile I was origin ally getting
  16. Be interesting to see what prices the Marvel figures which have never been released before get in April Plus how do Ebayers get away with describing an item as Brand new unopened when you have to go into the set, open the bags and assemble the figure?
  17. The city Fire ATV and a couple of Catwoman City Cycle Chase
  18. Just had a look at the Brickmania website and all the models the designer has for sale. He clearly has a market for his work and Im guessing sourcing some of the colours in reasonable quantity for the projects isnt that easy but if you want it and are willing to pay him who am I to argue..... However his SAS jeep at $75 I could put together and I have a relatively small collection of bricks
  19. Had to search for this review. In itself a little pointless as because of the price I tend to pick up the impulse city sets for my kids as little surprises so why do I need a review? Nevertheless, great review of a great little set. The minifigure is great and I haven't actually had fire lego since I was a child. Sadly that is all now gone. Seemed a good idea when I was a teenager. Look forward to picking this up in the supermarket or similar. Thanks for the review.
  20. I'd expect Wolverine's bike to be brick built, along the lines of the Skull motorbike from last years ninjago(though that would suit Ghost Rider more). For the amount of pieces in the Captain america set though I can see it being the Pharoahs quest bike mould and some scenery akin to the Catwoman set. The two bat cycles are horribly unfinished and I hope to see no more like them. I also own Kais bike and I'd love to see a similar set for a suitable hero in the future
  21. There is an element of Sweeney Todd to the combination of neighbouring businesses. Great job on having it fit in with the official models, they integrate almost seamlessly. No mean feat. Thanks for sharing.
  22. Id never seen the Dino attack sets till I googled it. Just my opinion but they were horrible and whilst the colour scheme in this wave might not be everybody's choice, certainly better than the old ones
  23. Just watching my boys playing with the Catwoman cycle with it's infernally "sticky" wheel. For those who know a little/or a lot more than me. Is Captain Americas cycle likely to be similar to the one in the Pharoahs quest Golden Guardians set from last year ableit in a different colour?
  24. Gotta love the internet for spreading vile lies like that. Took Cartoon Network/Lego long enough to act, especially considering how quickly they acted on the Summer wave prelim pictures account
  25. Just looking at a seller parting out the Superman set. He got £15 each for Wonder Woman and Superman. Current bids on the actual set minus figs is £11. So far he is at least £21 in profit going by rrp and I don't know how much he may also be making on shipping. Saw another seller getting £20(each) for Two face and black batman. Absolutely mental!
