LEGO Collectable Minifgures Series 8 Rumours & Discussion
surrideo replied to Piranha's topic in Special LEGO Themes
It will end at some point but it was the highest selling toy last year in the UK. If they can keep the designs fresh and more series like the current one hopefully they will go out on a high whenever that is and not be sad packets cluttering up retail shelves -
It seems the only reasonable excuse for not having it included. Look for technic hole bricks in the finished jabba set

Ideas for New Action Themes
surrideo replied to Perry the Platypus's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
I feel picked on for not being into Lego during that theme..... I doubt you could get something truly fresh and new in an action forum that hasn't been covered partly by historic or Sci fi themes. However I'm away to google Alpha Team sub zero edit: Now that I've had a look at them, yup something like that perhaps a little less James Bond Jr a little more MASK -
Ideas for New Action Themes
surrideo replied to Perry the Platypus's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
Lego arctic or polar explorers(if they use that title do I get credit/money ). Combine the two and get Lego Ice Agents? Large 4 x 4s, sports cars on spiked tyres(a la Die Another Day). Be a good use for all those Parka hood molds they have been designing lately -
Two Face chase and get the Batcave later as it looks decidely empty without the Batmobile in it.

Great competition and a good advert for lego as I've just purchased a Maersk train for my brother who does some consultancy work for them. Need not to open it before April when his Birthday is though................

I too have an android and you can check everything fairly quickly, only if a topic is picture heavy does it struggle and keep returning you to the top of the page. Typing on a smartphone is a matter of how dextorous you are, a failure that could be levelled at me

You so rarely see these sets "in the wild" in the UK outside of a lego store which is a shame. The primary model is a great build, with flaws but what Lego set doesn't. Not so keen on the second build and I know what the dictionary definition of retarded is but unfortunately it has a more recognised meaning these days and it isn't a term I like to see in a review. Not something I'll likely buy but the effort in showing the build progress I apprecite. Thanks. Also did you mean Danish air? Or are Creator sets made in the Netherlands? Don't confuse them, it's like calling everyone from the UK English

Bringing back M-Tron would be great and whilst it has never come to fruition it must at least be banded about meetings and discusssions with designers. I would hope they would keep the original design as much as possible as it was so clean though I suspect the new CMF/Alien conquest helmet will get used for most "space" themes in future. If they kept the magnets "gimmick" though who knows what price the sets would be these days And in my eyes if it is ever to be M-tron it has to have magnets!

Thanks for the review of a set I believe my brothers may have had. I miss the wheels with the stud in the middle Used to be able to make good "Bond style" cars with tyre shredders with them. The poster who pointed out that there hasn't been a tv crew for a while could be onto something. Could be a great sub-theme for lego city. News helicopters, tv studio etc

The firetruck "Red" from Pixar's "Cars"
surrideo replied to Henning Birkeland's topic in LEGO Licensed
Absolutely brilliant and special note to the eyes. Where all the cars sets rely on printed parts and stickers you have captured the character through excellent part selection and design. Be interesting to see yourself or someone take on Lightning and Mater because whilst the matchbox size cars are excellent the ultimate builds definitely don't share the same quality -
Interesting way to reply to a moderator. Thanks for the link gives a reasonable approximation of the bricks and sets

I can understand that, it's a fair sized brick/mold that piece with lots of detail.

It was good to see the packaging. The action figure forum isn't one I venture to often but could take second place to LoTR. I so want those sets but that board is getting somewhere between creepy and scary in places. Back on topic.....thinking about how lego have "Hugh Jackman'd" the lego wolverine despite the lack of film licence and appreciating that likenesses are subjective with a minifig face. Do you think the same will be done with the Magneto figure?. And yes I appreciate you won't see much facial detail behind the helmet.
-
It would be a great idea for this and many of the other licenced themes but I'm wondering if the deal is worded ina similar manner to the Star Wars one and they can't be seen to be selling individual action figures as that would compete with other manafacturers lines. Yes I know that a minifig looks nothing like a 6 inch posable figurine but I know that star wars battlepacks have the speeders etc thrown in to fit the remit of construction toy

Iron Man is probably the first one of these sets I would want to buy at full price, as I'm still waiting for Green Lantern and Batman to drop a few £s first. Captain America is good too and the boxes are recognisable as being of the same line as the DC universe
-
I'm going by the lego sets, he's in some helicarrier and thats it

You are a delight The release of the hobbit, possible re-release of the LoTR trilogy and these lego sets I hope will encourage kids to go and read the original books. Keeping the core value of the Lego group in inspiring kids and educating them

Well thankfully Catwoman cycle chase batman is easy enough to find thanks to his glider and in a statement I never thought I'd write down......my Batman has perfect abs............ Same with Funhouse and Batcave versions, but I could see what you meant in Alexscammers pic
-
Very nice, but someone is bound to moan they should be in another forum......Thanks for sharing
-
Not bad. Never realised until now that there was very little/if any blue in the blue batman torso. You've just gone and made a brand new batman there, put it on ebay and call it limited edition There is/was a licenced one pane funnies akin to the star wars one somewhere deep in the licenced forum. Hope you keep these up and good luck if you expand them and make them into full stories or suchlike
-
Crystals don't have to be colourless either. Lego have definitely done accessories and bricks before that have colour and are see through. A ninja with a transparent ninja headdress and chosen colour/silver decal'd torso and legs would look good
-
The Funhouse, providing you can find it. You already have black batman, you'll get a joker with the funhouse and all you'll be missing is his henchman. Plus you'll get blue batman with cape I'll pick up the batwing eventually but I'd definitely get the funhouse when you see it as it seems to be rare both sides of the atlantic. As for the build good 2 or 3 play features in the funhouse: trapdoors/swinging hammers/minecart swing/door. Appears to only be flick fires in the batwing set.

This reminds me in a good way of the alternate builds you used to get on the back of boxes. It's something I encourage my kids to do rather than use every part they want, to adapt and use the pieces that the set gives them to realise their own creation. Thanks and a building HQ is what I would have loved to have seen in a non existent second wave for alien conquest
-
It makes sense to divide up the main characters so people will buy all the sets, or the collectors at any rate. I'm sure in subsequent waves the main players in the larger sets will start to appera in £20/£25/£30 sets maybe even £10 ones(if that price level exists anymore). I don't remember enough about the films but I'm sure like all the licenced themes the main characters must wear alternate/ceremonial clothing at some point so there can be a few variants in the main characters
