The thing thats sometimes forgotten here. And yes I know its an adult forum. Lego is a toy primarily and how many kids will be buying multiple battle packs for armies?. They get some "goodies" and "baddies" all in the one set. The adult market is an important one to lego, but not the biggest one. From a parents point of view it represents better value for money when you get two of each faction in a battle pack. Especially for sets that will be bought on an impulse rather than the bigger sets for birthdays/xmas etc.

Spot the one from the UK. I was expecting The eliminator and wolf to be involved Really need to find one of the gladiator minifigs before the line disappears.... Great secene btw

Ah the impulse sets look like polybag all over. Hopefully the sun have got their next lego promotion worked out

Definitely some unadulterated snobbiness going on here. The models shown on the first page of the topic were excellent but all were aimed at one market, UCS. They would also be subject to small changes by the lego group in my opinion, not necessarily everyones. The the models that hace already went through the process I believe are extremely market sensitive and have no large presence or interest in the western market. How are they doing in their native market? The Delorean would make a great creator set or suchlike. Does Cuusoo have to mean $100 plus sets?. Its clearly been misused or misunderstood by some quarters/factions but people should be ridiculed for not having thousands upon thousands of bricks, sometimes the best sets are the simplest. Who says that Cuusoo couldnt inspire a promotional polybag or Seasonal shipping vignette?

My kids are now getting to the age of reading the Harry Potter books for themselves and I think they have seen all the films. Ive been buying them the more interesting sets from this year and Im fully considering Diagon Alley for Christmas for them(and the one who'll need to help). From the start of the Harry Potter line are the only house pupils you get from either Gryffindor or slytherin? Bought the quidditch set for them 2 weeks ago and they have Hogwarts but I cant remember if any of the other two houses are represented in lego form.

Almost sure this set is still in my parents loft. Would it be mpolite to turn up and ask to retrieve it then leave son after lol. So much good stuff at my parents, hope my little ones would appreciate it -
I think the pilot can be watched online, but I think it got canned even before it attempted to air. Could it be as bad as Birds Of Prey was..... ? It was never Megan Fox alas, that was a good mockup. Adrianne Palicki or something like that

Just having a look at all the pics and I think first purchases will be the two face set and the catwoman one. Couple of big sets for xmas then I think its time to save for the new lines in Jan/Feb. The superhero and ninjago sets are going to be popular in my house.....

I definitely think Batgirl minifig would be a big draw for kids, adult fans and collectors alike. The wonder woman fig is great and makes the Superman/Lex Luthor set all the better for her inclusion. I think these sets may be like Hary Potter in that they all nd a "big" character to help sell them e.g Harry or Anakin in the Star Wars clone wars sets. The Trilogy sets original and prequel are strong enough to sell with diverse minifig selection, maybe in time the same might be true in this line. But if you look at the Marvel business model, they have made a feature film out of almost every single one of their intellectual properties. The culmination being next summer and the Avengers movie and lego will have the corresponding sets out in time and those characters will sell the sets for that without an Iron man in every box. If they ever do get round to the smaller players in the Justice league or Teen titans, I think its a gd guess that Batman, Robin etc will always be in there to help shift the set. Thankfully Batman has bn in a lot of different media and has a lot of suit changes that can be made.

Just reading the BBC website and I see that The Fire Temple has been listed as one of the top toys for Christmas in the UK

The Wonder Woman brand is strong I'll grant you, name me a villain though? That is recognisable to the mass market. Many people could reel of the Wonder Woman TV series theme and could identify a reasonable effigy of her, but her exposure to the mass market beyond the logo and image is extremely limited compared to Messrs Wayne and Kent. There is no doubt that these sets will appeal to many different customer groups when they are released just like any of the licensed themes. But at the end of the day its about sales and volume and a Wonder woman set on its own, at least initially, would not sell that well. As for Flash, I totally agree with you. Though shows like Big Bang Theory and Smallville have raised his profile a bit. Currently humming Flash theme

I stand corrected. Comparing the piece count to similar sized sets in other licences, this isnt bad. Still be getting it for the comic book style Batman and Catwoman. Two gd figures as an introduction to the theme. Interesting to see wonder woman "thrown in" as it were into the superman set. I was curious as to how they would sell her in an individual set though I am aware there is a new movie or tv series in the works. Same goes for Green Lantern because that movie last year was . Don't get me wrong I love comics but Batman, Superman and arguably the Flash are more mainstream than Green Lantern and Wonder Woman. Though I appreciate they have their large fanbases too

Two face set looks good but for £40 or so v expensive for what it is. I notice on the Amazon France site that the Catwoman set is only 89 pieces. Im not overly fastidious on price to piece count but that does seem awfully low for a £10-£12 set. Are these sets dues Jan Feb then?(Please dont shoot me for not going through all 50 odd pages of the topic)

Hi to all Eurobricks members. I have been lurking on the site for a few weeks and finally thought I should register. Been a fan of lego my whole life, my first set(that I can remember) was the police station circa 1984 and I believe it still resides in an ice cream tub in my parents loft along with many other 80s and early to mid 90s treats. Now a father and Uncle(and pretend uncle) to many kids and now find myself back in the world of lego. Favourite themes Star Wars and Im enjoying the new Alien Conquest line, Castle(Though I believe its Kingdoms now) and classic pirates. Loved the Batman line when it was out. Thanks for reading and I look forward to interacting with you all on the boards etc.

Been lurking for a few days. Followed up on the Encyclopedia price at Asda. Majorly grim though, the store had ten copies of the book and only three had the Han Solo minifigure, the rest I presume stolen......
