Luck your little testing pool was not to deep or you would have lost to motors! That is a very cool and interesting boat. -

That is a very beautiful MOC you got going there. Is it a U 20 firetruck? -

You built 8043! I bow down to you, I don't even understand the instructions! This just shows that there is no limit to anything, no matter how you are. Oh, and Lego is a really great company, they have excellent service. -

sama replied to AndroTech's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
What about Mr.Toys? Its Australian and the prices seem to match the official prices on the Lego website. Here is the website and 9398 seems to cost $$289.99 AUD. -

8110 Wheel Problem
sama replied to sama's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
I don't know if you can see it but mine had all this patchy sticky stuff that wouldn't come off. And I just noticed my new wheels lego I received have a light pattern of those lines too, but luckily no sticky stuff! -

I see a health hazard. The guy sits right in front of a gas tank (it could kaboom and he can die) and his view is slightly blocked by a purple thingy (ir receiver). -

How long a set is kept alive?
sama replied to mobi's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Aw man, your lucky. 8258 is not even available in Canada and apparently the Unimog is disappearing from Canada too. People say it is too expensive and there is not enough demand in Canada too, but, I was able to pick one of the few remaining (like 8) from TRU. -
Multi-Pendular Supensioned 8X8

Be creative, and make a strong, rectangular shaped frame, just don't make heavy and remove anything that is of no use. -
Multi-Pendular Supensioned 8X8
sama replied to 88high's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Ok, lets see. Yup...it should have a nice strong drive motor, geared down so it goes nice and slow. It should also be wider than how tall it is (to give it a nice solid base and preventing it from tipping over), and the steering motor should be strong, as your truck will encounter many enemies. And, the rest of the information is available in Zblj987's videos (there are like 7 tips and other Truck Trial shots and videos all over his channel) here. -

Just a question, are all the Technic sets on the website available at the Lego Store. I am asking because I thought of going to the new Lego Store that opened up in Toronto and picking up an excavator by August, maybe for 50% off (Are the sales present on the website also present in the stores?). -

I,m such a jerk. It's just that I miss them construction vehicles and 9398 isn't my "favorite" and now I have to wait till 2013 to get another flagship (if it is a good one). -

TLG have really eased on the functionality of the flagships. The Unimog and the rock crawler are not that strong in functions (like cranes and arms and stuff), they are more in the drive train and suspension while the flagships of 2009 and 2010 were more into functions (the folding crane arm and the excavator arm). Really what I am trying to say, I am not "very" impressed with the rock crawler, it's just an rc car. -
The Unimog does have the most pneumatic parts out of the three mentioned but if you want a set stronger in pneumatics, I would recommend investing in 8455. But it is very expensive in the market right now as it is long gone out of production and it is a very rare and special set.
