Darkness in Mitgardia Chapter 6: Fighting Back
soccerkid6 replied to soccerkid6's topic in Guilds of Historica
Thank you, Infernum, it was fun building this storyline with you Thanks mrcp6d, I was quite pleased with the landscaping Thank you, and yes always good to see some more Mitgardian themed builds Thanks LV! Thanks Gunman, I used plenty of bright colors in the swamp to contrast the monotone tower Thank you Thanks, that's what I was aiming for Thanks Wat-Tambor, this was my first time using dark red and that orange together for trees, I really like it Thanks kabel! Got to keep Mitgardia strong Thanks dG Thanks Gilbert, and good call on those pillars of 1x1 rounds, I'll switch to bley or leave them out if possible in future builds Thanks Carson, I used to have thousands of those 1x1 trans green tiles (got them off of PaB), for example: I've given away quite a few as I usually don't need that many. But then I got some trans green 1x1 plates off of PaB too, so I still have plenty Thanks Torgar! Thanks Kayne, glad you like that contrast Thanks ME, those bushes were a last minute addition, glad you like em. They're a bit fragile as some of the leaves are just set in place Thanks Hammerhand Thanks Kai, the 1/2 stud offset was easier to work with than I expected Thanks Thank you! Thanks Thanks DM, glad it's recognizable Thanks Mike, I used that path design in one of my previous castles and really liked it Thanks Gabe, and you're totally right about those columns Thanks Yooha! And I figured the 2x2 round plates were either fallen leaves or moss Thanks Thanks Gideon, glad you could see your influence on the tower design- 28 replies

Nice work with all those free builds, MKJ And speaking of freebuilds, I have one myself: Making Maple Syrup -

I'd like to receive credit for Manufacturing [Trade and Law] for my Making Maple Syrup build- 343 replies

I'd like to receive one UoP credit for manufacturing [Trade and Law]. Mattiusxavier suggested that I build a MOC showing maple syrup being made, I thought it was a great idea (my family actually makes our own Maple Syrup every year) and after finishing some other builds was able to make this. The process of making Maple Syrup is pretty simple, in the later winter/early spring you tap Maple trees and hang buckets to collect their sap. Then that sap is gathered and heated to evaporate much of the water from the sap and make syrup. There is a full interior in the cabin. Sugaring season is always a pleasant time in Mitgardia: whole families work together to tap the Maple trees and then gather the sap and boil it to make the delicous syrup that is commonly used for flavoring. Any Comments/Criticism welcome

The Hand Book II: Escape from Lagash Ur

I've always liked seeing Nocturnus builds with plenty of lava The black rockwork looks great and the wall/towers look quite intimidating. And the story just keeps getting more intriguing! -

Quite the feast, love the alligator The three pillars give a nice frame for the build and the table and chairs are excellent. Can't wait to see what happens next in the storyline -
The snot base works nicely here and I like how you set the studs up plates at an angle
-
I like the snow, doesn't look like any of it is hanging off to me Nice water and micro ship too
-
Your landscape turned out very well (this is the one you had in the WIP topic, right?)! I like the dark tan banks and the tree and foliage are excellent as well Good battle posing too
-
You really nailed the Avalonian look with this build My favorite parts are the roofs and little gate

Great idea for the mount up challenge. I like the purple red colorscheme and the repeated patterns in the body and neck look really cool

Magnificent interior I like how you have some elevation changes, and the stairs and carpet work well to keep things flowing together Sweet door/portcullis too, and those walls... Glad to see this storyline continuing! -
Excellent building layout and I like the rather basic architectural style Nice work making the whole thing modular as well, interiors make everything better

Great foliage, you captured an overgrown look perfectly The irregular base works well too -
I like the mix of sideways and upright rockwork I think the little pond would look better if the edges weren't so straight

Good texturing on those walls, I like the incorporation of a few 1x1 dark green bricks as moss (I'll remember that trick as I have plenty of those) -
Excellent woodwork and I really like the rat in the rafters Nice inclusion of the Mitgardian colors in the floor too
-
Really cool idea, and the build itself is excellent Those goals are lovely and it is easy to see that you put a lot of thought into all the figs in the crowd. As far as the whole football (soccer) in the US topic, it is definitely getting more and more popular In my area it's the biggest sport

soccerkid6 replied to -Carson Haupt-'s topic in Guilds of Historica
@Carson: I was referring to the tower itself, giving it a bit more height would make it seem more tower-like. Though with this particular tower seeming rather dilapidated and crumbling it doesn't have to be as tall as a normal tower -
The rounded ends on the building look great, especially with how the roof matches Excellent texturing on both the house and well
