  1. That guy's microscale skyscraper gallery is impressive. The Eiffel Tower is great, but I'm more wowed by things like his Chicago Hancock Tower and the Empire State Building.
  2. Unless something has changed, LEGO has said that they're not producing sets that officially accompany the movie. I hope they stick with the comic book style of Joker, and are simply producing a Joker and a Tumbler set because they're in the movie and popular and will sell, not necessarily...The Dark Knight-branded sets. And Harley's not in the movie, although I wouldn't be surprised to see at least one other besides Scarecrow, Joker, and maybe Two-Face...although that's my own weird theory.
  3. This is my first time seeing your stuff too--the Zoo is cute, and then I checked the rest of your brickshelf, and you're obviously some sort of builder-savant. That Mushroom House? The Turtle Car? The Sequoia? Good NIGHT, woman! You're amazing.
  4. Yeah, hopefully one of these sets will include Commissioner Gordon and a police car, or Batgirl...with four new sets only getting one new character (even if it's the ever-so-awesome Harley Quinn) is kind of a bummer. BUT, this is more than we've heard about Batman in more than a year, so I won't complain. Much.
  5. I'm really hoping for an official Plo Koon at some point...whether molded or just decal, I need my favorite freaky Jedi!
  6. Oh, a Skeleton Chariot -- a real "Roman" style chariot with two wheels -- would be some sweet, SWEET bacon! I'm not sure what changed at LEGO in 06-07, but for the first time in years I'm excited about the Castle and City offerings. I've only been buying the licensed HP, SW and Batman sets for almost a decade now, because the other sets haven't been very appealing...but suddenly I'm buying sets from all over LEGO's catalogue. And my wife is really *vader* about it. *wub*
  7. Aside from the Death Star (I'm an OT guy too, Klaus-Dieter...) I'm most excited for the Batman sets... Batman Batman's Buggy: The Escape of Mr. Freeze
  8. What size or price point do you think the post office / post station should be? I can't imagine something the size/price of the police or fire stations that LEGO has produced...maybe something smaller, along the lines of one of the gas stations?
  9. I really like that new torso piece...
  10. L.F.A.D.N., that would be hilarious. And awesome. And nightmare-inducing. I'm all for it! *y* *y* *y*
  11. Love the helicopter. Looks very good and big and blocky. I hope fifty people can fit in it. *wub*
  12. They need to get Toht in there somehow...the SS guy dressed in black with the headpiece of the Staff of Ra burned into his little LEGO hand...
  13. This treehouse is one of the funnestest things I've ever seen. I love everything about it. Wow.
  14. Yeah, I've seen several here and elsewhere that would be great for my students...either to have them build themselves or simply to incorporate into PowerPoints or other presentations...
  15. I'd really only grab my kids and my portable hard drive that has backups of our digital photos on it. Everything else can either be replaced or I'd be better off without.
  16. These are the closest thing I have to pets...although we are planning on getting a dog next spring.
  17. 7th Grade = 12/13 year olds. I teach 7th Grade History, which for them is 20th Century History. I mainly cover WWI, The Great Depression, WWII, The Cold War, Vietnam, Civil Rights Movement, and a few other things. In any case, I have seen some great vignettes and dioramas using LEGO that I could make into teachable moments with my students...but raising the $$$ to supply the classroom with LEGO would be a challenge. If I went to my principal and said, "yeah, I need to get $500 in LEGO reimbursed," she'd laugh me out of her office. And my job. Still, something to think about.
  18. I can't stand Spongebob Squarepants, but I think my boys would love that rocket. My five year old is in an astronaut/space phase right now, and this playset seems like it would be about on his level. I like the cartoony design of it, and it comes with the main characters...I may have to cave and finally buy a SB LEGO set. Man, they do know how to get us suckers in.
  19. The only ones I've ever cared about are: Republic Gunship AT-AT Star Destroyer ...I consider the Imperial Shuttle more something for officers and VIPs than a true troop transport, but I like that too. It's purdy. :)
  20. Same here...it's one of those things that I would have assumed was a no-brainer eight years ago when I got onboard with the LEGO Star Wars...I'm bummed that we haven't seen them yet. Maybe BrickForge or someone will start cranking them out at a reasonable price. I'd much rather have LEGO do it.
  21. I voted 6971 Inter galactic command base, but mostly out of nostalgia. I loved those old crater plates. This is the first time I've thought about either Blacktron or Space Police in more than ten years...I didn't realize I missed them!
  22. Simply stunning...I spent a few years in Germany, and I love the Northern European feel you've captured here. Very colorful, very busy, but still intimate. Man. I've gotta build something.
  23. This is the City set I'm most excited about that I don't already have...I'm resisting it only because I know my two boys will fight me for it. I know the simplest solution would be to buy three of them, but my wife would go all *vader* on me if I did that.
  24. US Targets have their Castle LEGO on sale this week. The advertised set is 25% off of the Prison Carriage Set (so it's 14.99), and it says all of their other Castle LEGO is on sale too. I'm not sure if the Dwarves Mine is considered part of that sale or not, but it's sure worth checking out...
