  1. At this point, I've decided I'm only gonna be an Original Trilogy person, unless they come out with something that's just irresistible. ...and I don't see that happening. So I'd like to see more Ewoks and more Leia (in terms of minifigs) and that giganto Death Star everyone keeps hinting about but no one has actually seen. And those Rebel/Imperial Battle Packs are long overdue and very much welcome. I'll probably only get three of each, since I've already got a bunch of Stormies, and if I buy more than that, my wife starts to get That Look.
  2. Jamie, I like that a lot--I was just watching ESB last night with my boys, and kept on thinking, "I need to build a medical center for my Hoth Base that I don't have yet." So, nice to see someone actually doing it.
  3. Beautiful review, Dunamis -- There's no way in >:-) >:-) >:-) my wife would let me buy one of these, so reviews like this are the closest I'm gonna come to the real build. Looks like you're having a great time. I love seeing all of the little details you usually only get by building it yourself. Thanks for all the time you're putting into this for us.
  4. Those Romulan ships are amazing. Wow.
  5. Me too. I eventually paid him back, but that was my biggest moment of shame. That Classic Space. It was irresistible back in '82...
  6. Thanks for the welcome... Honestly, the kids I teach are 12/13 years old, and even though some of them are a bit unruly, they're really still just kids for the most part. They still want to make adults happy, they're still small enough to "know their place," and on the whole, I have a good relationship with them. They don't get too crazy in my class. I tend to get them all wound up, and then send them off to their math and English classes. *y*
  7. Very nice--the blue's probably my favorite, but I like all three of them. I've got to learn how to build!
  8. I was wondering the same thing. I stumbled across these animals a few weeks ago, and forgot where they were at, so I'm glad this thread resurfaced. I've gotta buy me some livestock. I don't even HAVE a farm, but I'll start one, just for these. Hopefully these will sell well enough that we'll see some chickens, geese, uh...kangaroos? llamas? Animals.
  9. I wish my mom would buy it for me...at least the biggest sets. Come on, Mom!
  10. Uh, let's just say it was you. Enjoy your laundry! *y*
  11. I love your solution for Barbara Gordon's chair...I've been waiting on making an Oracle minifig until I can make a satisfactory wheelchair for her. Because right now, mine...sucks. Nice to see something a little different.
  12. Thanks for the warm welcome, boss--nice place you have here.
  13. I love Trek too...I was a huge fan of the Original Series, the TOS Movies, TNG, and DS9, and then I got busy and married and lost track of stuff. Here are some LEGO Minifigs I made about 7 years ago; I took pics with a crappy webcam, so I apologize for the lighting, the fuzziness, and the general horribleness. But you get the idea. STAR TREK: THE ORIGINAL SERIES STAR TREK: THE NEXT GENERATION STAR TREK: DEEP SPACE 9 ROMULANS BORG And then my sketchbook... (FOR THE MINIFIGS ABOVE) VOYAGER ALIENS VILLAINS (Including Khan, Chang, Sybok, an Andorian, Gorn, Q, Lursa and B'Etor, Kai Winn, and the Founder Chickie) Anyway. Yeah. I'm a Trek fan. I should go back and redo all those now as fleshies...it's been a while since I've played with Trek.
  14. Oh, NICE. New faces for Nazi and Henry Jones Sr., and a new map...three more pieces, too. *y* *y* *y*
  15. I like these sets--a lot of stuff to choose from, no matter what part of LEGO you're into. The first set (Mission to Mars Mini Robot) looks a lot like Pixar's new WALL-E movie, which will be in theatres next summer... At least it does to me.
  16. ...I'm trying to decide if Indy's Motorcycle w/sidecar would be modifiable into a Batcycle for Batman and Robin, or if that would be as stupid as most of my mods end up being... And is asking for a Nazi army builder too politically incorrect? Too evil? Because I want one. And by one, I mean about twelve.
  17. I know I'm late to the party, but I only joined Eurobricks yesterday, so give me a break. *sweet* My thoughts on licenses: I took a "break" in LEGO building, playing, and collecting for about six years. And even though I saw some things that I liked, or thought were kind of cool, I didn't pick anything up until I saw those 1999 Star Wars sets. And then the Harry Potter sets. And then the Batman sets. At this point, the dam has broken, and although I'm not a completist for any of the lines (except Batman. And Indiana Jones), I will now pick up whatever I think is either cool or will complement the licensed lines I enjoy. For example, the recent Castle sets, which I love, I'm mostly picking up because I love the idea of using the skeleton army to attack Hogwarts, or Indiana Jones, or even Gotham City. I'm using the castle pieces themselves to add on to my Arkham Asylum and Hogwarts. I've been picking up City sets here and there because someday I want to make a nice Gotham City...much nicer than my craptastic building skills will allow at this point. ...and I think there are a lot of people like me out there who have been brought back to LEGO by the licenses. I agree that some of them have been missteps, and some have maybe watered down the overall LEGO catalogue, but I think we've gained more than we've lost with these additions to the world of LEGO. Man. Now I need to go to work, but I'm all inspired to play with toys. What's a responsible adult to do? I know! Hang out on this forum all day at my job!
  18. Verdammt! I can't win. :-D
  19. My favorite time period to learn about is European History from about 400 AD - 1870 AD, but my favorite to teach is 20th Century History. I can't stand the American Revolution or American Civil War, but that's because I had horrible teachers myself.
  20. Very nice buildings, Alex...I need to take some lessons from you guys when I build my Gotham City. Some day.
  21. Thanks guys--I really need to delve more into these and make them the way I want them to really look. Maybe after I finish my Batcave. :-$
  22. I...like Star Wars and Muppets. So jedikermit came out of that. I should really have a Jedi Kermit avatar, but my friend drew a Green Lantern Kermit. Which I really liked. So there it is. Confusing? Not really.
