  1. I'm 34. Which sometimes feels much older than that, but I usually feel much younger. Rolling around in piles of LEGO does that.
  2. Here's me at the White House. With my Rubber Duckie. I have problems.
  3. Thanks, guys. I only discovered Eurobricks a few weeks ago...I guess I've known about it for longer than that, but never been here. I assumed it was uh...a bunch of Frenchies. No offense intended. My other fear is that it was a bunch of Germans, and even though I lived in Heidelberg for a few years, I'd be afraid my horrible German would be showing. (My horrible language skills, not my own personal German Person.) I've been a member at FBTB.net for many years now, although...not that active. I basically lurk for information about sets. It seems like the inmates are running the asylum there half the time. No offense intended. Wow. Uh, I've been into LEGO since I was 14, took a short break, Star Wars and Harry Potter sucked me back in big time. My boys are 3 and 5, and they've got all of the Thomas Duplo sets--the older one is starting to break into my Batman and Star Wars sets here and there. We'll have to have some father/son bonding. And I live in Salt Lake City, Utah. I think that's all the questions. Thanks for the welcome--I feel right at home!
  4. I'm really not much of a builder, but I thought I'd show these, since I finally got around to taking pictures of them last night... First, a bigger Batboat, with more room for sidekicks: Next, a Batrocket-sled; I've never liked the very very fragile one included with the Batcave: And finally, a kind of walker for Mr. Freeze...he's been bitter ever since he didn't get his own vehicle in the Batcave set. That's it. If I get around to finishing my Batcave before my sons break it, I'll post pictures of that too.
  5. Verrry impressive Mike -- my favorite cathedral pic is this one: http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?i=2761727 with the minifigs working on the roof. The whole thing is amazing, but it's the little touches that really make it stand out. Great work!
  6. Thanks Vader; my wife calls it a "problem." But she still lets me play, so who cares what she thinks? *wub* Thanks Asuka! At first I had problems with the women, because...well, the minifig style just seems too chunky and "A" shaped for someone like Wonder Woman. But once I got over that...I likes 'em. :-)
  7. Thanks Joebot--I have fun making 'em. I might do another Zee and Canary with fishnets...at the time I made Canary, she was still wearing her more modern Birds of Prey outfit, and wasn't wearing fishnets as much. But now that she's wearing her classic costume more, I'll probably change it out. Marvel...I've made some movie X-Men (you can see them here: http://www.flickr.com/photos/14632327@N03/page5/ ) , but other than that, I'm really much much much more a DC Guy than Marvel guy. Maybe someday, if I run out of DC, Star Wars, and Indiana Jones stuff to make. I really liked the Batcopter/Scarecrow's Biplane set, but the Bat-tank set...sucked. I'm hoping 2008 is at least more interesting, if not a ton more product.
  8. I love Star Wars figures too, but there have been so many that I've cut way back on collecting them. Then in the last few months, I've been picking up the McQuarrie Signature Series--I love his artwork, and it's been a fun way to collect some alternate looks to the classic trilogy. Aside from that, I mainly collect funky looking aliens and alien Jedi. Roron Corrob was my most recent purchase. *yoda*
  9. Hey. I'm new. I'm old (34). I teach history at a junior high school (7th Grade), and I like LEGO. Married, with two little boys, and stuff like that. My favorite LEGO...well, there's a lot. Star Wars, Batman, Harry Potter (RIP), I'm really liking the new Skeleton Army Castle sets, and the new City sets. And then when Indiana Jones hits next year, I'll need to get a new job to help pay for all the sets I'll be buying. Anyway, that's me. Nice to meet y'all.
  10. I'm very new here, so I hope this is the right place for this. Since the Batman line launched, I've been hoping that it would expand into Superman and Justice League characters...at this point, I'm hoping it just stays afloat (only two new sets this year? and nothing leaked yet for '08?). In any case, I really like making custom minifigs, and although I don't have the mad decal skillz that so many other people seem to have, I'm okay with paint. So here's the link -- it's more than 100 custom minifigs from DC Comics: Justice League, Superman, Batman, Teen Titans, Legion of Doom, etc. If you're interested, check it out: http://www.flickr.com/photos/14632327@N03/...57602339740490/
  11. Very cool -- and I love the vehicle, too.
  12. I'll definitely be picking up all of these, and probably several of the Truck Chase and Motorcycle Chase, just to build up my Nazis. They look good...I'm hoping the new movie is good enough that I'll want to pick up those sets too. And I'm hoping Temple of Doom gets some Lego love in 2009. It's not my favorite of the movies, but there are some great action sequences in there that would make fun playsets.
  13. Great Vig...that was always one of my favorite scenes in that movie. So detailed, and such a simple but effective vig. Great job!
  14. I'm hoping for more Bat-sets this summer too...with the Batman LEGO game coming out, and The Dark Knight in theatres, if LEGO still has the license, I hope they use it. Characters I'd like to see: Commissioner Gordon Any version of Batgirl Man-Bat Harley Quinn Ra's Al Ghul Clayface Vehicles I'd like to see: Tumbler (Movie Batmobile) A Convertible for Harley Quinn Jokermobile Buildings I'd like to see: Police HQ with rooftop Batsignal Wayne Manor A proper Villain Hideout of some kind, with lots of Booby Traps to take out the good guys. Really, I figure if they made Killer Croc, all of those guys should be available and reasonable to make...
