Temple Escape Indiana Jones has come to a temple deep in the jungle in search of an ancient idol. But can he avoid the collapsing walls, shooting arrow traps, slithering snakes, spiked walls, hostile natives, and a massive boulder rolling right for him? Help Indiana Jones take the gold idol before the statue falls, get past the flick-fire arrows, swing over the pit using his whip, run from the rolling boulder and past the swinging swords to safety! Set includes 6" (15cm) long plane with snake inside, just like the scene from the movie! Features and details include skull rocks, bat, spider, spiderweb, skeletons, gold coins and more! It mentions the plane from that scene, but no pilot--can we safely assume that there's no pilot there, and Indy just pilots the plane himself? Also, did we determine if there are more than two "hostile natives," or is that all that come with it? Even though this is the largest of the Classic Indy sets, I think I'm less excited for this one than all of the others in this series. I'll have to see it in person to know if I'm really going to get it or not, although I have been saving my nickels and dimes. And quarters. And twenties.

Holy sexiness. I can't build a car worth anything, so it's inspiring to see all of the techniques you've worked into this one model. Cartastic!

I should have my students make WWII vigs out of LEGO when we get to that point in the school year. I'm sure 7th Graders would be able to produce enough gore to satiate all of us.

I do have to give total props to LEGO for their Ewok sculpts...there's so much detail in those faces, that they're very easy to paint and simply bring out the detail that LEGO has already built into them. In any case, thanks for the kudos. I loves my Ewoks.

Yeah...nice hair, baaaad face. I wonder if it's incorporating more of the new cartoon's design?

Thanks, guys--and especially, thanks for the tips and constructive criticism, Hinckley; I would definitely do some things different if I were to do these today (as opposed to what I did in 2002-2003 or whenever it was). I can see myself really getting into the decals or other more professional design work someday. This was mostly for my own entertainment, and are done with acrylic paints and a regular Uni-Ball ink pen. My cartooning days moved from paper to three-dimensional stuff. Someday I'll post a link to my 768 customized Fisher Price Little People, and then you'll see what REAL crazy looks like. Anyway. Thanks. MAN, I like this place. *wub*

Review: 7787 Batman - Bat Tank: The Riddler and Bane's Hideout
jedikermit replied to xwingyoda's topic in LEGO Licensed
I like the Bane Wanted poster too, but my favorite touch like that is the "No BATS" (red circle with a line through it) sticker. Very funny idea, and cute execution. "Cute execution." That doesn't sound good... -
Review: 7779 Batman - The Batman Dragster: Catwoman Pursuit
jedikermit replied to The Middleman's topic in LEGO Licensed
I liked this set too, althought what I liked most about it was that it was cheap. And had Catwoman. And Catwoman having a smaller, scaled-down, non-pimped motorcycle seems more fitting with her stealthy character than something like the Jokercopter or Two-Face's Van. And if it's forbidden to revive old threads, why are they there? Shouldn't they be deleted after six months of inactivity or something? -
LEGO Group in Deal With Volkswagen
jedikermit replied to legomilk's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Awesome. My first gf's car was a VW Beetle--lots of fun memories of that car. And come to think of it, back in the 70's, my parents had an orange VW Bus. We named it George. I'm hoping for minifig scaled VWs too...that would really be something! -
Aw, thanks guys! I was expecting more bashing! Yeah, the Ewoks are probably my favorite too; wish we'd see some more of the little furballs at some point.

Miss Legoland Pageant (The Final Round)

I voted Castle Princess too...even though I don't like her lack of legs. -
Here are some SW minifigs I probably made about three or four years ago, I just dug them out of the bottom of the LEGO bucket and thought I'd share here. I'm a big time Sculpey-er and Painter. I know how offensive that is to most of you, but it's how I was raised. I gots problems. In any case, here goes: I really like the Ewoks. It bugs me that we haven't seen any new Ewok sets since Ewok Attack, so I'm glad I stocked up when I did. I added some Sculpey details (feathers, skulls) to some of them, and painted six of them, leaving some all-brown. If you know names, there's a Logray and Chief Chirpa and Teebo and Warok and others there...but I just consider them all my short furry friends. And at least they're not Gungans. If LEGO ever made a Salacioius Crumb, I figure he'd be about this size--I just added Sculpey and paint to a 1X1 round brick, and he looks pretty okay. Medical Droids FX-7 and 2-1B. They're totally ripped off of someone else's Brickshelf design. They're alright. Bounty Hunters Boussh, Bossk, IG-88 and Dengar. I'm not sure why I didn't make Zuckuss and 4-LOM, except that they suck. Assorted Protocol Droids. I don't know what I was doing. Same for the Astromechs. Admiral Ackbar and Nien Nunb--two of my favorite slobbery aliens. If I could convince TLG to make just one alien Minifig, it'd be Admiral Ackbar. How can we avoid traps without him?

I voted Sir Nadroj's....Chuck was a close second. Love both of those.

My favorite's the newest style of Dragons. They're more in line with classic LEGO animals like horses and the old school dragons and those things. The Viking Dragons, which I think are really cool, are just too...cybermonster Bionicle Terminator for me. If all of my other LEGO animals were brick-built, I'd probably go with the Viking Dragons, but as it is, I like the "Dino Attack" style.

I don't know how much longer I can resist this set. And I'm not even a Castle Guy. Hopefully it will sell out, and I won't have to look at it on the shelves anymore.

Those are...interesting. The Robot forms look really streamlined--not as blocky as most other TFs have been since...forever. Bumblebee looks great, and I have no idea who Bulkhead is, but he looks fantastic too. The others... :-X Especially Optimus, which makes me sad. Maybe other more deluxe-expensive versions of him will be more impressive.

Oh, sweet. I don't even know if I'll buy the game, but it should ensure a few more Batman LEGO sets, eh? And yeah. Commissioner Gordon-AWAY!
-
Great stuff--I love the idea of the tower, and you pulled it off very well. Mine...would suck. So great job! *y* *y* *y*

I can see myself buying the airport and converting it into a Mr. Freeze HQ of some kind... And using that plane and the Passenger Plane for some spectacular mid-air collisions with my son...

Whether they were licensed or not, I think LEGO musical instruments are long overdue. Guitars, drums, even orchestral pieces like violins, trumpets, harps and cellos would be a cool addition to minifig-scaled worlds. Of course, I'd like to see bands like U2, The Beatles and Coldplay made, but if the instruments were out there, people could make their own MOC favorite bands more easily.

your first license set that wasn't star wars

Forbidden Corridor: I wanted Harry, Ron, and Hermione, and that three-headed dog was too cool to pass up. -
That was mine. I actually thought if I just got that one set, I'd be satisfied. Yeeeeeah right.

Yup!
