Zero's workshop

Awesome little model! Great job on packaging those bulky PF electronics while keeping it really easy to use. No outdoor/offroad test this time? Also, will you publish the digital model? Kinda want to build one myself -

Great representation! Especially like the rear. I appreciate you made the body removable, that way you can see the chassiss easier. Linkage driven fake engine? How does that work? Also if could you take some pictures of the chassis in the rear, curious how you packaged things with motors, fake engine, suspension and everything. Interesting, I don't have that problem, in my experience they work as before. Maybe you wore them out or something? You could also add a custom "sticker" in form of a bit of tape to get more thickness to hold it in place.- 13 replies

Very interesting idea for the suspension, and it works very well! It could be said it works as a damped pendular axle I think? Also, do you think adding some springs on the chassis end of the links could improve it by helping the wheels to go down faster, while still having the same travel because of the leverage? All in all I'm impressed by the performance. How much are the RC tires helping it actually?

After a year and a half I came back to my Green Formula MOC with new knowledge and ideas to improve it. The model was very good from the beginning, but it had a few problems. First is that you only could drive it on very flat road (no suspension) and not very fast because it just wouldn't go straight. All that got fixed with the front suspension design I got the idea for back when I built the V1, but refined it over the years. Green Formula V2 thanks @Another Brick in the World for editing this image :) Specifications: Dimensions: 30 x 17 x 12 studs (LxWxH) 442g (almost perfect 50:50 weight distribution) 1x PU L motor for steering and 1x BuWizz motor for drive powered by BuWizz 3.0 Pro 14° of caster in the front ~1 stud of front suspension travel 20:12 gearing from the fast output of the BuWizz motor improved bodywork for less weight and better cooling Now that it is finally more controllable, I can actually drive it fast. One day I was curious just how fast it can go on a straight flat road, and it turns out that is 30.3 km/h. Honestly didn't expect it to be that quick with only one drive motor, but I guess that's just the power of BuWizz :). Full video of the speedrun: This model has also been a place for me to try out some 3D printed stuff. First of which was an air intake for better cooling during hot summer days. I don't actually know how much it helps but I like to believe it helps at least a bit :) Other thing is a 3D printed replacement for the part 6574 (Gear Rack 1 x 2 with 2 Tow Ball), as it's a quite rare piece. The geometry is basically the same, I just made the connection to the ball joint thicker and got rid of the bottom slot for studs, all for strength. It works just like the original piece in my experience, but still haven't crashed with it so I don't know anything about how durable it is, but it surely saves some money if you already have a 3D printer. More about it: https://www.printables.com/model/1375874-lego-part-6574-gear-rack-1-x-2-with-2-tow-ball All in all I'm very happy with the model, it's small, fast and fun to drive. I will definitely keep it assembled for a long time. Video showcasing the model: -

Jurss' Workshop

Maybe the new short 3L suspension arms will help? Nice start! I feel like a 911 on this chassis would be cool (proportions, flat 6, low profile tires..) Also if you like sacrificing a bit of chassis stiffness you could add front suspension quite easily I think (if that's something you like having on a model :)) -

Hah, nice :) Some background story why is there a lawnmower (yk, there's no grass in the desert :)) or just because why not? Sure! That's why I'm asking, it has a lot of torque but ig it is a bit top heavy to go crawling? -

Looks very good! Got some driving footage? I wonder how it does offroad. -

That would be a sensible way to go, but in that case you have a hybrid, nothing new, and it would just be heavy and still produce emissions. It's just confusing, trying to appeal to enthusiasts with something they should know they won't like (fake/useless things).
