  1. Well he's also in all the Guardians sets and he's probably going to be in sequels to both franchises. One way or another he's a draw right now, he may not be a poster boy for the company but he's certainly helped sell those sets. I just feel like it's odd for him to be associated with dozens of sets spread across two themes and a Lego movie one year, then a competitors the next year and then return a couple of years later for sequels to both franchises and undoubtedly be in dozens of sets again. Maybe Lego doesn't care at all, I don't know. But to me it feels more like Kre-O is leeching off Lego, and enough companies already do that. I'm just saying it could be possible motivation, then again it may not. If anything Lego could just be grabbing the license to spite Kre-O (Which really all those clone brands could be knocked down a peg...). I hope someone announces something soon though one way or the other. It's bugging me not knowing for sure which company is doing sets.
  2. I didn't say they had any say. All I meant was that Lego might have tried something to gain the rights to make sets, perhaps Lego bought out the contract from Kre-O. I don't know how likely that is, but it was just another possibility I was stating. I mean Lego probably wouldn't want to see Chris Pratt in a competitors product, it's not impossible that they made an offer to the license holder to avoid that. Personally I think the contract expired this year and that opened the door for Lego. But I'm sure there's several possibilities as to how they could gain the rights.
  3. I highly think this will actually happen. After all Jurassic World has been pushed back again and again, it seems highly possible that the Kre-O contract only runs through this year (as this was the year the movie was supposed to be released). And I feel like Chris Pratt would know the difference between brands, especially since the Kre-O figures are pretty different and weird looking (Those faces are haunting...). Then again it could have just been a generalization about building block toys, but I feel like Kre-O would have come out and corrected him if that were the case. And I don't think Lego would like it if Chris Pratt appeared in a competitors product, so I wouldn't be surprised if they negotiated for the rights. Plus I feel like that theme would be a slam dunk for them. They could recycle almost all the dinosaur molds they have on hand and would only really have to design a couple completely new dinosaurs, the others would probably just be recolors.
  4. He might be confused, but then again something might have changed. After all Kre-O figures look pretty different, after spending years involved with the Lego company I find it hard to believe that he wouldn't know the difference. And the movie has been pushed back a number of times. Perhaps the contract with Kre-O was only good for sets produced in 2014, the year the movie was originally slated to come out. Contracts expire after all. Or perhaps after Chris Pratt's success in the Lego world the studio simply decided to change the direction the merchandising was heading. I guess Lego might have done something to get the rights too. It would look bad for Chris Pratt, the star of the Lego movie and it's sequel as well as the leading character in a popular line of sets, to be used in a competitors product. I wouldn't be surprised if Lego did something to get control of the rights, it wouldn't be the first time they got control of a franchise another brand already had. For the time being I'll remain optimistic. It's certainly possible at this point. I'm sure it will be clarified soon enough.
  5. He also has his own show called Agents of Shield, where he's currently alive. So I'd say his chances are just as much the same as ever. I'm sure we'll see him thrown into a set at some point.
  6. Flick-fire missiles have been present on several game only vehicles in the past. Even still I think it's highly possible we'll get it in the winter wave (To tie-in with the Blu-ray release of the 66 show), but I'm still not completely convinced. I will say the Batman and Robin minifigures at least use printing that could be done on a real minifigure. The legs are the boot color with the leg color printed on. Plus that SDCC set was so plain and underwhelming, I feel like it could have been in the vein of preview set.
  7. That Batmobile looks great, I really hope that ends up being a set next year. Really the big problem is that Batman uses a different cowl, but I don't think that in itself dooms the set (I mean how many one-off molds have we seen in the CMF, somehow a one use mold doesn't feel that unlikely). Plus the SDCC version did seem intentionally underwhelming, I mean it's a scrunched up version with recycled minifigures, it at least seems possible another version will show up eventually. If not though I'll just have to build the Batmobile by itself. It would also be great to get that Alfred, we could use a new version. I do think we'll see that bigfig Killer Croc. He is after all one of the few villains they haven't carried over from the old line. Plus his mouth seems to be on a hinge, which I think if he were a game only character they would have just modeled his mouth without it.
  8. The more I look at it the more I wonder if it is molding or printing for those feet. It does look like the inner side of the foot is also that same red color, then again it could just be a mistake on the render. But on the other hand could Lego have finally developed a new printing technique allowing them to print on the feet like that. I guess we'll have to wait for images of the real thing before we'll know for sure. Curiously I can only wonder why they decided to add the grey feet on this version and not the one in the set. Either way I still think this will be more like a preview minifigure, somehow I don't think they'd make it this impossible to have a full line-up of the Guardians in that costume. Interesting, perhaps this will be like the Dark Knight SDCC and we'll get a differently colored version in the future.
  9. The only thing printed on Bart's legs is the slingshot. You'll notice that the yellow on the blue legs runs onto the inner side of the legs, which could not be done with printing. Also as I recall Lego can't print on the top part of the foot, so either Rockets legs are made with two different plastic colors or Lego has been holding back some new printing techniques.
  10. Somehow I don't think this will stay exclusive forever. I mean aren't the multi-colored short legs actually molded that way, similar to how the two tone arms are? Plus there's printing on top of that. This seems like a lot for something with such a limited run.
  11. It's just as well they made Drax grey. This way we'll need a green variation in the future too. Really all Lego did was create demand for another version of the same character. Plus his color in the movie doesn't match any of the Lego colors, so they probably just had to pick a color that was on one side of the spectrum or the other. I'm sure if they had chosen green everyone would say how he looks more grey in the movie.
  12. You're correct. The only difference I see is that the eyebrows are lighter in color. A female head with blonde eyebrows is actually kind of rare. Depending on the quality of the printing I might have to grab a set of these.
  13. It may not have a floor, but it does have several platforms for the droids to stand on anyway, so for me it's not that big of a deal. You have a point. It's ironic, Luke's face is so overly detailed he's freaky looking and Obi-wan is so plain you can barely tell he's new. You're right about the hairpiece especially. They either should use that hairpiece or finally make a Padawan specific piece. This hairpiece was acceptable ten years ago, but now it's getting absurd. All of the Padawans have the same hairstyle, so any hairpiece depicting that would be useful for several characters.
  14. Hopefully they manage to include a couple of comic inspired minifigures in the USM sets like they did this year. Comic Green Goblin and Gwen Stacy are definitely needed and I feel like at least one of them will be in a set next year (A new hairpiece in the CMF line looks exactly like Gwen Stacy's hair, so I'm hopeful). I have a lot of hope for Spider-man in 2015, each year there's been a definite improvement in the sets. Me too. I feel like we're just a few villains away from having a good rogues gallery for Spider-man.
  15. For $200 it would have to include every Nolan Batman character for me to buy it, from Alfred to Zsasz. Don't get me wrong, I would like a nice two seater Tumbler, but for that price it would have to include a lot for me to buy it. I'd much rather get a collection of Batmobiles than one gigantic Tumbler. The first one was too big, the last one too small, if they're going to give us another Tumbler I just hope they've learned from their previous attempts.
  16. I'm sort of hoping for a new piece entirely for the dress. After all Queen Amidala got a special dress piece, so I see no reason the princess shouldn't. Plus I'd just like to see some diversity for the dresses, the slope brick is getting kind of repetitive. It would sort of look like she was bald if they used that piece.
  17. I would expect a hairband too, but after the 2013 version of April O'Neil I think Lego would probably just print the hairband on.
  18. No, it's not. It looks quite a bit like Gwen Stacy's hair, except without the hairband, and also a much smoother texture. Glad we're getting a female hairpiece with bangs, it'll definitely add some much needed variety. The leg printing is interesting too. The others are pretty good too, though the prospector is kind of boring. The hat is neat though.
  19. Reminds me of how the Simpsons looked back during the first shorts on the Tracey Ullman show. It sort of looks like the heads just shriveled up...
  20. A definite improvement over the last one, the movie accuracy is pretty good. The skin color is a good choice, definitely better than grey.
  21. A gigantic Tumbler is definitely not something I need. As much as I like it as a vehicle I would prefer one that's minifigure scale, one that actually fits two minifigures. I'm sort of hoping that it's actually a UCS of the Adam West Batcave with Batmobile. I would buy that immediately.
  22. It's sort of neat they've kept the same Alfred in all three games, a little continuity is nice. I do think they could have changed his hair to gray or something.
  23. The more I look at that Dino Hunter's hairpiece the more I think it might be used for Princess Leia at some point. The front does sort of look like Bespin Leia's hairstyle. Maybe I'm just imagining the similarity (It's also the right color too). Anymore when I see these minfigures I just can't help but guess where the pieces will be used in sets.
  24. Liking the gamer quite a bit, though I feel like they could have printed another tile to look like a game console. The Dino Tracker is interesting, printing on the side of her legs. Also if I'm not mistaken she has a new hairpiece. I do hope this means that a new dino theme may pop up at some point. Perhaps Lego will try to cash in on Jurassic Park next year by creating it's own dino themed sets.
  25. You're right, it's there, but there is one core difference. In the render the head sits on top of the bracket as it would on a real minifigure, but in the video the bracket is large enough to fit around the neck. That little detail right there make me think it could end up being a real minifigure. While that's possible, I don't think it's likely. I mean introducing a new cowl color for something with such a limited run seems like a waste of money. Personally I kind of think it'll wind up in an exclusive set this summer. The fact that it doesn't use the new cowl design sort of rules out that it's going to be in next years sets (Since with the last cowl the second it was introduced they phased out the older one, I can only assume the same will happen when and if they introduce the next one).
