  1. Am I imaging it or is Scarlet Witch's head the same as Supergirl? That would explain why they went with black eyebrows over blonde for Supergirl... I'm hoping I'm wrong, that seems a bit lazy.
  2. We're still lacking a ghost ship, a castle, a museum and a haunted factory. There's also multiple variations of the Mystery Machine across the various shows and movies. So there is potential for further waves should Lego decide to do one. Plus there's tons of different costumes for the gang too. I'm more guessing that when the next live action movie comes out they'll do a wave for that. Otherwise I don't know if I see this theme having very many waves. It would be great if that Halloween CMF turned out to be a Scooby CMF. That would be a great way to give us the classic villains. Unfortunately that doesn't seem like it'll happen.
  3. Brick Fan simply misread Brick Fanatics report. Bricksets report pretty much confirms it's heavily inspired by the older shows. They specifically note that the Zombie is from the first series. Scooby and Shaggy appear in all the sets. Fred and Velma each appear in one and Daphne appears in two. Which is sort of interesting distribution. I'm really excited about the Mystery Machine. With the new parts they've created for it I'm betting it'll actually look pretty accurate. I'm incredibly excited for the Mansion, it sounds great.
  4. None of the reports confirm or deny what it's based on. Hopefully someone looked at the box art, as if it's classic it'll have those designs and if it's Be Cool it'll have the redesigns.
  5. Was Harley's print just an updated version of her classic costume?
  6. Oh, I completely agree. It's misguided that people think that this failing would result in more Monster Fighters. As I said before this is just a licensed version of that theme with an already existing audience. That's probably the only way Lego is going to get high sales out of monster based stuff. And honestly I prefer this over a generic monster theme anyways. The monsters will be compatible between both as they're minifigures, so really it's a win win for anybody who likes monsters in general.
  7. That would have been a little pointless. We have an existing hairpiece that's both the right color and style for Scarlet Witch that's been around for years, just swap the pieces. And Hawkeye's hair is pretty perfect. Scooby Doo is getting new pieces because their hair is 70's styled and there's very little that's currently available that would be passable.
  8. If this theme, a monster based theme, fails I'm doubting that would give rise to a Monster Fighters 2.0. Essentially this is just a licensed version of Monster Fighters. One with a built in audience. If it fails than say goodbye to monsters for a while.
  9. The only one that would look different would be Daphne. Her redesign lacks the pink tights and long sleeves. The monsters list does feature classic Scooby Doo villains. However many of them are common monsters which could be reused in the new show. So there isn't complete confirmation yet. I'd say it's leaning towards classic right now. Too bad the details aren't more specific, if we knew which monster went with each set that would be a pretty good clue. For instance Shaggy and Scooby Doo used a plane to catch the Black Knight in the first episode, so if that were the minifigure selection for that set it would be a pretty good confirmation that they're using classic stuff. Notably the box art is described and nothing is described as being out of the ordinary (And the Be Cool designs are noticeably different, so I feel like that would have been mentioned had it been those designs on the box). I guess we'll see for sure soon enough.
  10. Eventually you just get used to it. Also watching the petty bickering play out in some of the threads is pretty entertaining, it definitely staves off boredom in the meantime... Probably through supernatural means. Hypnotism maybe... Honestly for some of the price tags Lego slaps onto their products there's very little you can do to justify it. Really all you can do is hope.
  11. There's no official confirmation. The helmet in the picture appears to be in two pieces though. If you look at the rods running along both sides of the bottom of the mask you'll notice they run underneath the actual helmet piece rather than connecting. This gives the impression that the helmet and top part of the face plate separate from the bottom part. It could just be wonky looking part, but the rods running underneath the top part of the helmet does seem to indicate it's two rather than one.
  12. You hit the nail on the head with that one. That's how the Oscars are, they let commercial appeal blind them to the artistry of a movie. TLM should have gotten far more nominations, but unfortunately the people in charge can't overlook the fact that it's a toy.
  13. Willrow Hood would be awesome, beyond Lobot and Lando there aren't that many notable Bespin characters (At least in my opinion), so I'd be glad to add him to my collection. Though it still might be a while before they do another cloud city set... I'm kind of hoping they update the New Hope version of Leia. Standing her alongside the overly detailed Chewbacca, Han Solo and Luke she looks really plain. And sadly I realized that her torso has never changed, it looks very out of place with the thick lines. In fact the only new part they've made for that variation is the hair, otherwise it's the same old torso and a recycled head from another theme. Hopefully they'll update her before too much longer.
  14. I'm glad they got rid of the toes, to me they really didn't make sense. Minfigures only have printed toes.
  15. I'm hoping that ultimately Scooby has a head that can move up and down (Like the Horse figure) and moveable legs. That would make it so that he can stand on four legs and two (As he does interchangeably in several of the shows).
  16. The Character Building version of him had moving legs and a swiveling head. I'm betting they'll at least give him moving legs. I mean he's the main character and he's roughly the size of a person in the show, there's really not much of a reason for them to be missing out on moving legs.
  17. Yeah, Mystery Incorporated got very little merchandising, two character building minifigures and a set of action figures and neither even had the name of the show on the packaging. I'm surprised it even got that though. Most of the shows from the last twenty years have gotten very little merchandising, even the action figures from the live action movie years ago just reused the classic designs from the original series for the characters (Which really didn't make sense considering how different they looked in the movie).
  18. The change is due to the change in comedy style. It's more satirical and zany, so the animation style has been changed to fit that. And this is nowhere near the first time they've changed the style. A Pup Named Scooby Doo, Get a clue, Mystery Incorporated and now Be Cool Scooby Doo all feature animation that is different from the original. The main reason I believe it will partly be old school based is simply because the merchandising for Scooby Doo has almost always used some elements from the original show. Almost all the toys currently available feature some elements of the original show. Even the Character Building theme for Scooby Doo used mostly original series monsters despite the fact that Mystery Incorporated was airing for the entire duration of that toy line and only a couple of it's monsters were used in the theme. The Scooby Doo merchandising seems to rely heavily on nostalgia and retro elements. So I don't think it's unlikely at all that we'll see some classic monsters. Time will tell, but even the rumored set names could very easily fit classic monsters.
  19. Great pictures. It makes me a little glad to have the thicker capes though. Batman's neck looks ridiculously thin with that new cowl on, I actually like that the cape covers that up.
  20. But the character building sets were based on both the old and new shows taking most monsters from the very first series and a few from the most current series. In fact Scooby Doo Mystery Incorporated was airing for the entirety of the character building sets and only two of the monsters originated from that show while the rest came from the original series. Being a die-hard Scooby Doo fan I can tell you that most of the merchandising is based around the old shows over the new shows. Whether it's action figures or playsets they've recycled classic monsters again and again. The Scooby marketing is hinged greatly on the original show. In fact it's rare to almost never that they do any toys for the newer shows. The last series was the only one I've seen them do any merchandising for and that only consisted of a redesigned set of action figures for the mystery crew and those two monsters they used in the character building sets. While it's possible they'll throw in something from the new show I'm highly confident that the bulk of it will revolve around the original show.
  21. Honestly, I'm doubting they're going to base the sets on the new show. There's no reason to, they're dressed almost completely the same and the animation is just a caricatured version of the original show anyways. Plus in Lego form the skinny arms and legs can't be duplicated, so why bother with the enlarged heads when none of the rest of the minifigure can portray the style?
  22. I've had to get replacements several times. Two-face's face had inverted colors. Lines were dark purple, but the shading was black. They replaced it pretty quickly. C3PO had his eyes printed too far off center making it look as if he's always staring away. The replacement unfortunately was also misprinted, except he's staring up now instead of sideways. So at that point I just gave up on getting perfect eye printing for him. I figured he'll appear in other sets so eventually I'll get a head with good eye printing. Batgirl had problems with the lines. The purple had faded to white in several places. Also her hair had a few spot where the paint had been thin leaving black spots in her bright red hair. The replacements I got were worse than the original. The new torso had the lines double printed on there and the new cowl had three times as many black spots. After that I sort of just stopped asking for replacements. So your mileage will vary.
  23. He's sort of wrong, but sort of not. Like BTTF Ghostbusters does have appeal to both audiences, it's certainly been merchandised for both audiences over the decades. I think the real problem is that today's kids aren't overly familiar with it. Perhaps when the next movie comes out it will help build a bigger child audience to match the adult following it already has. But for now it's audience is pretty limited. Most kids are probably familiar with the theme song, but their knowledge of it probably isn't much beyond that. Scooby Doo on the other hand consistently has new shows and movies and merchandise being released constantly. So it's a safe bet that kids are familiar with it, plus it has a nostalgic following from adults.
  24. It looks like that could be part of the CMF after all as the next regular series is supposed to be Halloween themed. Which disappoints me some, as I'd really hoped it was for this theme. I still think it's unusual to see a piece for it almost a year early, but I don't see the pumpkin head fitting in with any of the sets names we've been given. So congrats to those who called it in the other thread.
  25. That list makes me think it'll be based on classic Scooby Doo. There's a lot of classic monsters that would make sense in those sets. Mummy Museum Mystery (75900) Could be the mummy of Ankha Mystery Plane Adventures (75901) Could be the Black Knight, as he was chased by a plane in the first episode (It's how he was caught as I recall). Or the Space Kook as that mystery took place at an abandoned airfield. The Mystery Machine (75902) Possibly the Creeper or Mr. Hyde as both are known for sneaking into the Mystery Machine to scare the gang. Haunted Lighthouse (75903) Could be Red Beard or Captain Cutler as both mysteries took place in water (Though I don't recall specifically if there was a lighthouse involved). Mystery Mansion (75904) Could be Frankenstein, Wolfman, the Headless Specter just to name a few possibilities. So I'm hoping it's all classic monsters at this point.
