  1. Spider symbols aren't stylized like the movie. Missing the black band on his arms. The black vertical lines in the center of the torso should be thicker and not straight. The web cartridges should be solid black. It's a great minifigure, it looks good on it's own, but admittedly if you compare it to what's in the final movie it doesn't hold up as well. Still I love it and I'll love the corrected version we get next year even more (Assuming they do sets for that movie).
  2. I'm not that excited about most of these sets. Many just seem like more variations on existing vehicle types. Maybe I'll be more excited when the movie comes out though. I really like the tank. They actually managed to give it a pretty nice textured look. Like the orange/grey/black coloring too, it's a nice contrast.
  3. Even with two sets it's still a bit short. I actually think the sets should be flipped the other way too. So looks like I have some planning to do, two bridges and parts to connect them.
  4. But you might be undermining the relationship this site has with Lego. They might not be able to sue, but they can retaliate in a number of ways if provoked. It never hurts to think about the consequences of doing something before doing it. Granted in this situation I'm guessing Lego doesn't care much about what we're saying, after all those idiot youtubers made a video about it, that's got to be a bit more infuriating than anything we're doing right now. I just checked the The Brick Show's Twitter and the picture of the set is still on there as a thumbnail, even though they deleted the video the pic for the video is still showing. I guess I'd feel bad for them, but I really don't like them that much...
  5. It's almost like that's been their scheme all along. Oh wait, it was. After the few dozen Lego shorts/movies/games I think it's safe to say it's all been a very long toy commercial. That's nothing new. Mindy Cohn doesn't even voice Velma in the current show. She's pretty much only voicing Velma in the main series DTV movies. I'm guessing she's on the verge of retiring and their trying to transition her out and bring a new voice in. It happens every 10-15 years for Velma. I actually enjoyed the movie quite a bit, but I'm not surprised that other people didn't. It was an odd choice to make a movie that's basically one big homage to the career of Boris Karloff. As I watched it I couldn't help but think that even if the general audience got all the things this was referencing I had serious doubts that many people would be that interested. It doesn't help that nearly all the recent Scooby DTV's have been fast paced and action oriented, so throwing in a slowly paced one built around old Hollywood homages was unlikely to get a strong reaction. Still seeing a Lego Elvira was pretty cool, so I'm happy just the same.
  6. I actually think he's pretty accurate for the most part. As far as I can tell he's missing some of the black detailing on his upper arms. Then the black lines on his torso shouldn't be completely straight. Web cartridges should be filled in with black, I think. And obviously the Spider symbol should be different. When you factor in how late in the game the spidey design was finalized for the movie it's an absolute miracle this turned out looking so good. A few of these changes I don't mind. I didn't like the black bits on the upper arm anyway and I can easily live with the wrong spider symbol. That's super weird about the flame piece being attached to the head, that's a first. I'm wondering perhaps if the flame piece is maybe a bit fragile (Especially on the edges around the face) on it's own and that's why they decided to attach it. I can't say I'm that bothered by this. Though now I can't put this on a custom Human Torch so...
  7. I could see them doing that for some characters. After all, likely some of the 1.0 characters will have a role in the 2.0 story mode so that means that some of the voice actors will return, so it wouldn't be a problem to update their characters.
  8. Yeah, I'm thinking this is fake. It just doesn't seem right. Really I'm wondering if they'll give us a minifigure or a specially molded piece like they did with Scooby and the Angry Birds. After all Sonic's body is kind of hard to portray in standard minifigure form (Which is why I was surprised this license came about in the first place). Seeing how bad this fake prelim looks I'm kind of hoping for a molded monstrosity in the vein of Angry Birds over this type of Franken-Minifigure.
  9. Well I'll say that first we don't know that we'll get a TTG version of Cyborg. There's a possibility they'll just use the one that's already in the game. After all the personality is the same as well as the powers, really a TTG version of him would just be a costume variation and little else. But even if they did include a TTG version there's no reason that they couldn't treat him as the same character just in a new costume. I kind of expect that they'll ultimately combine the best of both shows for whatever world/characters/vehicles they're cooking up. That's one thing I really like about Dimensions, they seem to have a pretty good idea about what the fans actually want out of these properties.
  10. I really thought I'd heard there was one designer who liked to throw them in as his calling card (Marcos Bessa maybe?). Granted I remember reading that years ago, sometime around the first or second wave of Marvel stuff, so I might not be remembering it entirely. Or I could be mistaken, it's been so long, granted it doesn't matter either way. It definitely seems to be a running joke now though...
  11. If I'm remembering correctly, isn't the fire extinguisher the calling card of a certain designer?
  12. Just got the movie. The new variant has printing on both sides of the head. One side has his tongue hanging out and the other just shows his teeth like he's talking. Quite a useful variant really. The movie is pretty good too, a lot of fun Hollywood references. They even had Cassandra Peterson playing a parody of her Elvira character. I do hope that even if they don't continue making sets that they'll continue making these movies. Still I'd like more sets, I liked some of the minifigures in this movie, the gang's movie premiere costumes would be neat to have.
  13. That Spidey is pretty epic. We may have had to wait years for it, but it was worth it. I can't even focus on the rest of the set as I'm too busy celebrating. Glad to get Vision. Really didn't want to have to get last year's set for him.
  14. Well... That's a set alright. Honestly, I can barely manage to come up with an opinion either for or against it. If anyone was dying for more LOTR sets I think they'll be pleased. Otherwise it's just a very average set. Just enough new characters to make people happy, just enough old minifigure parts to make people unhappy. Build is interesting, but nothing new or groundbreaking.
  15. Unless they created new variations of Marty and Doc, maybe even special powers relevant to that version. Personally I'd like to see an 1885 version of Doc and Clara Clayton.
  16. I don't see those floats being included. Do they even have wheels? That's kind of an important part of a parade float even working.
  17. It's easy to believe. They're obviously saving that for the MCU Spidey. Keeping a very bland variation in the Bridge set (And the other two for that matter) will make the MCU Spider-man seem even more special then he already was.
  18. Stitch isn't too bad. Has short legs (Which there's only one other in this series that has those) and then his ears on his head are pretty easy to feel for. Genie and Aladdin aren't terribly hard. With Genie nearly all his pieces are special to him. So if you feel a rounded head/hat piece with pointed ears and a feather piece floating around in the bag than you've got Genie. Aladdin is harder because of the generic pieces. But if you feel the lamp and nothing else unusual than that's him. Peter is pretty easy. Just feel for the knives which come in a set where they're connected together (They're rubbery feeling), plus his hat is pointed at the top.
  19. It's sad, but that would still be better than nothing...
  20. I just saw it. I gotta say, this is very taunting. They gave us her father, the bridge she was thrown off of and the villain who did it, but they just won't give us Gwen Stacy outright. And with next years sets likely devoted to the movie I can only wonder how many more years I'm going to have to wait for Gwen Stacy. Who knows, maybe she'll pop up as an exclusive or something. You're very, very right. That employee is pure evil, they're probably cackling into a magic mirror right now.
  21. I thought August was the release for the USA... But if it turns out to be June I'd be very happy. That promo picture really makes me want it right now, It's a surprisingly good ad.
  22. I was at a Toysrus yesterday and they had three boxes out at the service desk. I ended up feeling every single one just to find the three I wanted. There were about 5-10 people looking through them in the span that I was there. The first two boxes were heavily picked over. It was interesting to see what people weren't buying. Most of the Mickey, Minnie, Daisy and Donald's were still present (At least 1/2 to 3/4 were still there). The Toy Story Alien was also almost all there but I found Buzz only a few times. About half the Mr. Incredibles and Syndrome were gone, but most of the people who were feeling the packages were asking about Mr. Incredible. About 1/3 of the Ursula's were left, but I only found two Ariel's. I found only three Alice's and Cheshire, similar number of Hook and Pan. So those seem to be bought in pairs. I found no Maleficent's out of all three boxes. It's interesting, but it seems like the 50's characters and the Little Mermaid characters were the only consistent sellers of each box.
  23. I bought another Alice and this one doesn't have the clutch issue with the dress or hair that the other one did. I got Hook and Pan too (hat is slightly misprinted). It's weird that Hook's foot printing goes all the way to the bottom but it doesn't for Alice and several others.
  24. My Walmart has them for this price too right now, no sale tags. I'm guessing they dropped the price permanently.
  25. That seriously sucks if she remains an exclusive. I'm sort of guessing she'll get a wide release eventually though. I mean in addition to making this physically they made her model in game, animated it and hired a voice actress. That seems like a lot of time and money for an exclusive available only to a few, better yet there wouldn't even be a profit to doing that. With the lack of playable female characters in the game already Supergirl would likely sell really well in a wide release, it would be stupid to limit her to an exclusive. I hope they're going to add on to existing franchises too when the next line hits. I'd hate for only new worlds and no development to what's already in the game. Some of the existing adventure worlds could really use a level pack. I'd especially like something for Oz. I'm still bummed out they never even gave us Dorothy (Even in the games plot line she basically disappears after her section and never reappears). I was just thinking earlier today that if they included her in the fall wave they could use the new skirt piece from the Disney CMF. I'm not a fan of the excessive leg printing the game version of her has currently. Using that piece would definitely improve her design and make a physical variant easier to produce.
