Collectable Minifigure Sightings & Availability
Amset-Rah replied to mo123567's topic in Special LEGO Themes
I mainly remember the snowboarder being the major one that I saw, but I saw a few other bits and bobs (Fitness woman's boombox, Cleopatra's dress, evil dwarf's head) in the fray. Luckily I have all the figs except the guard and dino man, so it wasn't a huge problem personally, but it sucks because it seems like my Walmart deliberately doesn't carry the CMFs anymore. (They had a brief stint of series 6, but I only got sleepy head and two Highlanders), at least in the Lego aisle. I recall also seeing an open series 7 pack containing the space marine, and it doesn't stop there (The Monster Fighters Frankenstein set was also open right on the shelf, and was the last one left.) -

Pardon the pun, but here's possibly the most hardcore Grateful Dead fan around. -
Single Pane Action Theme Funnies
Amset-Rah replied to Amset-Rah's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
Thanks! I wish I had that hairpiece in brown so I could make Bella here look more accurate but it got the job done, right? I'm glad you guys are enjoying the funnies, be them mine or anyone elses (That Chima-pet is pure gold, Oky caliber) And Wall, take your time, man, this thread isn't going anywhere. Good things are most certainly worth waiting for. Anyway, this next one makes me wonder what logic a lot of Lego's sets entail. -
Collectable Minifigure Sightings & Availability

My local Walmart had a bunch of series 5 minifig packs opened and pieces taken out. I'd say a good 1/4th of the stock they had was tampered. -
Collection of groaners, as usual, Oky. Love them.

Single Pane Action Theme Funnies
Amset-Rah replied to Amset-Rah's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
^Agreed, that one's probably the best one here so far (Though not to brag I think the Monster Fighters/MLP funny is good, if you're familiar with the pilot) BTW, new funny! Sorry that LV's face is blurred. Anyway, Bella over here thinks that Lord Vampyre is another Edward. -

^That's a classic! Why did I miss that one? Somehow I feel I may be this thread's Oky, provided the man himself doesn't show up. Anyway, here's another moaner. You see, zombies are old school. They don't try to keep up with modern K-pop trends. They prefer the hits of the 80s. -

A groaner, yes, but even the mummies want a piece of the Psy pie. -

Agreed, but this thread is for anyone who has a funnie idea. If you have one, post it! I myself am easy to please, as the funnies we have so far are great. -
REVIEW: 71000 LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series 9
Amset-Rah replied to WhiteFang's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Series 9 is a mixed bag for me. I love a lot of the figs like the fortune teller, waiter, judge, Hollywood starlet, and so on, but one of the fan favorites (The chicken suit) isn't one of my top picks. Maybe it's because of his wings/arms? I do like his expression and the chicken hat itself, however. That said, this is my second favorite series out thus far (7 is still #1. So many useful figs). 6 is still a great series, but it dropped to 3rd place because of this one.- 171 replies

That dragonfly build is a marvel. The butterfly is awe inspiring as well, while the walking stick is interesting. It's a bit of a, "second take" build with him, but I like it all the same, but the butterfly is my pick of the litter here.

Single Pane Action Theme Funnies
Amset-Rah replied to Amset-Rah's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
These are amazing, guys! Way to make my morning. Still no sign of Oky yet, unfortunately, but you're doing great so far, fellas. -
I love that middle one with the magician, especially the background piece. I assume the other two are the Black Pearl and something from Harry Potter (The trophy case?)

Collectable Minifigure Sightings & Availability

Went to my local Wally World today, and nothing. I guess mine's totally against blind bags since the series 5 incident (And the fact they perhaps didn't sell). I have yet to visit TRU, but I'll report back when I do. -
Hey guys. The licensed forum and Star Wars forum have funnies threads, as well as the special themes forum, so why leave the action themes out of the fun? Same rules as the other threads: Don't post anything that'll get you kicked out, no pics bigger than 800x600, etc. As for themes, anything from Adventurers to Chima is fair game. I bet you money Oky is going to blow us away here as he has in the other threads. Anyway, I'll start with a (Crappy) one. Knock yourselves out, and I'll have more soon. I can't wait to see how creative you guys can be here.

Thundercats Art Director Thinks Chima Is A Ripoff
Amset-Rah replied to Suspsy's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
I know we crossed this bridge back when the prelims came out. In fact I think I said the lion faction had a Thundercats vibe to them, but that's where the similarity ends. Did any incarnation of Thundercats (80s or 2011/12) have crocodiles and ravens as the baddies? Nope. I think it's a case of venting here. As for the Monster Fighters being a rip on Filmation's Ghostbusters, the only Ghostbusters-inspited thing I can see in this theme as the plane in the Ghost Train set. If anything the monsters seem more like the Universal monsters, but I digress. -
Penguin, these funnies are amazing! I can attest to the Lego Batman 2 funny quite well (I had to turn Alfred's voice off). These are just as good as Oky's, to be honest. Well done, sir!

Amazing sets! I too kind of remember Jem (Thank you Hub) and I always rooted for The Misfits. I love how both bands have their own set, as well as two vehicular conflicts. My only gripe is that the models themselves are taken from official Lego models, but the minifigs and Photoshop work are second to none, and I may have to borrow this idea as well.

I know, right? This is an ace model. Sure it isn't your classic Art Deco/Town Plan styled theater, but I like it. Of course I can't wait to see interior pics to make a final judgement. Even then, I'm sold on the exterior. Now the decision to choose between this or Arkham Asylum.

I think I'm in love with this set. As a bit of an old movie buff, I know for a fact I'll be getting this beauty for sure. The design is beautiful and bears a semblance to the Chinese Theater in Hollywood, but the question remains: Will there be a printed piece/sticker of minifigs who left their hand/foot prints in the concrete? Probably not but it'd be a nice addition. As for the limo and lights, they look like nice builds, as I do kind of like the retro design of the limo, which goes along well with the aesthetic going on here. My only complaint is that I thought the theater might look like the old Town Plan theater but at a larger scale. However I'm pleased with what I see here and rest assured I can't wait to get my hands on this set.

REVIEW: 10937 Batman: Arkham Asylum Breakout
Amset-Rah replied to Clone OPatra's topic in LEGO Licensed
Beautiful set and a well executed review. The truck, as others have said, is amazing and it's a shame that such a wonderful vehicle is more of a set piece. Same goes for the gate, the angel statues on the side really lift it up (And I love the inclusion of the Chima wings). As for Arkham itself, again, I agree with, while it's a stunning building oozing with detail, it's lacking in genuine play features. The rooms inside are great (Love the examination room) but aside from movable parts (Harley's vanity, the cell doors), there's not much to do. Still, if you're buying the set for display, you won't be disappointed, but it seems the lack of play features are a side effect of these big, detailed sets (Same argument goes with the haunted house and the modulars). Still, being a superhero set, it would have been nice to have some sort of feature, but it's best not to look a gift horse in the mouth. Nitpicking aside, this is an amazing set and I can't wait to have it in my possession. -

Next CUUSOO set: 21103 Back to the Future™ Time Machine
Amset-Rah replied to Blakstone's topic in LEGO Licensed
This is a definite buy for me (I loved Back to the Future growing up). Happy the Modular Western Town got picked up as well, as it would compliment the Lone Ranger series nicely (I had my doubts it would get approved as competition with Disney), so I'm a little curious as how they'll execute that. Back to the Delorean, I'm excited to pick this up. The model looks nice, and though the minifigs look a little awkward, I'm sure Lego will make them look a little better. I do appreciate the 1% going towards the Michael J. Fox foundation. -

The last series I remember seeing packets of in a box was series 6, but I saw a couple of signs of series 7 (Mainly an open packet containing the space marine). I'm thinking mine quit selling them because of people opening them (As we had series 5 before, but either they didn't sell or people went on an opening spree).I do have a TRU Express and they have series 7 and 8, one box each.
