  1. Maybe I'm looking at the picture with rose colored glasses on but I love these figs. In fact the Thespian is probably of my favorites if for the Elizabethan collar alone (And the fact I'm a theater nut. ). Sure there are a few rehashes, but like one of the other posters said, they're variations of figures only released in expensive sets (Like the vampire bat or female alien) or a remake of a sought after figure (Like the robot and cheerleader). Guys like the Thespian and Bavarian tell me that they still have some aces up their sleeves and this motor is far from running out of gas. Besides, let's be honest, series 6 and 7 were both hard acts to follow anyway. This isn't the best series, but it isn't the worst either. Just my 2 cents
  2. ^My friend's son would love that storage bin. Who knows, it could be a pretty big collectible soon.
  3. Amazing little MOC. Makes me think of some of the 80s sitcoms like Full House with the family togetherness feeling. I love it.
  4. I was just about to ask that. I knew the face looked familiar. This board does have that Adventurers vibe, even if it is Heroica.
  5. Another winner, Sextant. Gimli doesn't look too happy with Harry's rant at all.
  6. It just goes to show you that you don't always need all sorts of specialized pieces and such to make a primo model. Great job on Nemo!
  7. Aww, you're just saying that. I'm just really satisfied with the set and the theme as a whole. even though the Werewolf is the only one I have thus far, it's still a great set, though I did modify Major Steel's car a bit (I mixed it with the old Scorpion Tracker Adventurers set) so it could have a place to put the moon stone (A small flaw I saw with the set)
  8. I am in love with that theater. I have a bit of a secret love for movie palaces and your MOC has the look down pat. the diner has a nice greasy spoon vibe going on. I dig it, man, great job on the both of them!
  9. In regards to the quality problem, my Werewolf set is still in excellent condition. No cracks on either side of the minifigs or parts, no discoloration, misprints or chipped paint, it's perfect. Just putting that out there.
  10. I haven't played a game on Lego's website since the Adventurers days (Okay, so I let my friend's son play a Star Wars and Ninjago game on it, for all its worth), but this game is a LOT better than what I remember Lego having. And yeah, Sonic 3-D Blast wasn't that great from what I remember, but that's another thread.
  11. I'm not sure if this qualifies for the thread, but it's something I dug up in my old folder when I got my series 5 ice fisherman fig. The cold, harsh reality of fishing.
  12. I'll reserve my final judgement until the pictures come out, but a lot of the figs sound a bit vague, but some (Like the DJ, Thespis, vampire variation, captain, bavarian, etc.) sound interesting and I'm curious as to how they look.
  13. I love it. It's creepy but still has that Lego charm.
  14. There's a fun little game on Lego's website where you play as any of the 5 monster fighters in sort of a 3-d angled perspective and you fight some of the monsters, of course, it's just a different monster is released every so often. I think the one available now is the werewolf, and the code is supposed to be some special feature.
  15. That was the plastic sheet from the Fountain of Youth PotC set. Back on topic, I love this, especially the use of the Army Men footpad as I guess a lilypad or some algae.
  16. *brohoof* I love your Owlery MOC too, man.

  17. Totally. I actually added one of the old spider web pieces to the lower branch for a creepier look and like I said, it's fun sending minifigures flying from the treetops. In terms of werewolf, though, I still prefer the CMF 4 werewolf, but this one's awesome too.
  18. Oky, I think you got some stiff competition, man. Sextant, these are hilarious, especially the LotR funny.
  19. My Werewolf set arrived yesterday, and I'm having a blast sending him flying from the treetops. Plus the build was satisfying as well. All in all, great introductory set to the theme and I look forward to getting the others. One little observation that makes me love this set even more: The werewolf's head isn't as big as I feared, so I'm very happy about that. Also based on one of the reviews I saw (I think it was the one here) I thought the tree looked dinky from the front, but in person it looks great, and at an angle it's certainly imposing. Next on the hit list is either the hearse or the the mummy and swamp creature.
  20. Very clever MOC. I love some of the integration of the CMF series 6 pieces (Robot head as a motor, the genie lamp in the main office), excellent all around. Your attention to detail clearly shows.
  21. When my Walmart had series 5, they were, for the most part, good about not having open packets, until a few weeks ago when I found two packets open, both being the figures I wanted to complete the collection (The snowboarder and the dino-man). I just left them, feeling a bit disgusted. Why is it always the figures you're looking for that get tampered?
  22. Same here. I'd order them from Lego but they don't take Paypal (My online payment of choice, but I digress). Plus some of the other prices elsewhere are insane ($175 for the Vampyre Castle is entirely too much)
  23. I love that last one with the henchman, Oky. You still dominate as king of the thread, man.
  24. Me too, but wouldn't it be a lot like the old Studios werewolf set? What kind of head would he have underneath?
  25. This is the one set I'm looking forward to the most, just because hey, it's a creepy castle like in one of those old Universal horror movies of the 30s/40s. The minifigs look amazing (Some of the best I've seen outside of the CMF series), there are play features up the wazoo, not to mention the detail they crammed into this (The bed and the organ for instance) and I know some will say this is a flaw but the fact it comes with all the moonstones ala the Portal to Atlantis (Where it contained all the treasure keys) but this is a better set overall by comparison.
